Frowned Upon as the Child of a Prostitute, the Seventh Prince Becomes the Strongest Wizard after Working Hard since Infancy - chapter 10
After a week in the Empire, Elizabeth returned to the kingdom.
Elizabeth’s room in the Royal Castle.
Lying on a soft bed, she recalled events at the Empire.
‘So many things happened…’
The feeling of fatigue in her body could not be supressed.
This imperial visit was set up to select a potential fiancée from among the imperial princes.
As a royal herself, she understands that her marriage is dependent on the state’s whims. So she had already persuaded herself and accepted the fact that she would probably marry one of the Imperial princes in the future.
She even thought about that, that maybe she could find someone she could really like among the many princes.
But the imperial princes she actually met were far more vulgar and unpleasant than she had initially thought. (TL/N: We’re all looking at you, Dust.)
They had a strong sense of the pride on the topic of marriage. They all looked only at her bosom when greeting her at the reception ceremony.
Some have even kissed the back of her hands insistently. The only person who made a positive impression was the last prince who shook her hand, who seemed to have the name Lux.(TL/N:Main love interest incoming.)
When Elizabeth said that her first dance partner would be Lux, all the other princes turned their jealous eyes on Lux.
After the reception party, the princes desperately tried to contact Elizabeth. They did this in different ways, such as inviting her to dinner, suggesting that they go out on the town together, or giving her expensive gifts.
Already fed up with the princes at the hospitality party on the first day, Elizabeth wanted to refuse their invitations, but her position did not allow her to do so, and she ended up accepting all of them and spending countless uncomfortable hours with them.
The princes seemed to think that betrothal with Elizabeth was essential for the next emperor’s position, and were desperate to take her by any means necessary.
Elizabeth was even more disgusted that she was only a political tool.
‘Dear Elizabeth! Let’s go to the forest to hunt monsters! Let’s see what my magic can do!’
The most offensive of all was a man named Dust, the second prince.(TL/N: of course)
This man, who had given Elizabeth the most vulgar glances at the hospitality party, invited Elizabeth out to hunt monsters in the forest.
He is apparently quite confident in his magic.
Elizabeth wanted to refuse, but his pushiness got the better of her and they ended up going into the forest, which was riddled with dangerous monsters, together without an escort.
‘How’s my magic?’
After defeating a small monster he met in the forest, Dust turned his overconfident face towards Elizabeth.
Elizabeth herself could not think of anything other than cruelty when she saw Dust repeatedly casting magic on an apparently weak-looking monster.
After that, Dust continued to take Elizabeth deeper and deeper into the forest. Finally, the situation developed into something Elizabeth had feared.
‘Ggaaaaaahhh!!!!!!!’
‘Kyaaaah!’
The huge monster that appeared clearly looked too strong for Dust to defeat.
‘Oh, eat my magic! Magic bullet!’
And the fact is that Dust’s magic did not work at all on that monster.
‘Hiiiiiiiiiiii?’
When it became clear that he could not win on his own, Dust immediately fled, leaving Elisabeth behind.
‘Ogaaaaaaaaah!!!’
‘Ah…’
Death. Elizabeth was prepared to die when she saw the monster’s huge arm swinging down on her.
‘Demon wall!!!’
*Thud*
‘Eh…?’
But Elizabeth did not die. Someone rushed to her and magically protected her.
‘You are ……!’
‘Are you all right, Elizabeth-Sama?’
It was Prince Lux, the first person with whom she danced at the hospitality party, who helped her. That prince, who was the only one who did not look at her in a disgusting way and dealt with her in the most sincere way, had protected her.
‘Stay back.’
Prince Lux easily defeated monsters that could not be defeated by Dust as he was. Powerful magic pierced the thick torso of the giant monster and the monster was instantly slain.
‘Are you hurt?’
‘No… all thanks to you…’
At the same time as thanking Prince Lux for his help, the fear that her life was now in danger hit her body.
Elizabeth found herself hugging Lux and trembling in his arms. Lux gently patted Elizabeth’s back and waited for her to calm down.
‘I’m sorry to show you my embarrassing sides…’ Eventually feeling calmer, Elizabeth moved away from Lux and thanked him again for saving her life.
Lux laughed and said he was glad Elizabeth was safe, and he took her back to the Imperial Palace.
“Lux-Sama……”
Elizabeth returned from her reverie to reality and realised that her cheeks were flushed.
‘For some reason, when I think back to that moment, my body heats up and my heart pounds.’
Lux’s words and expression at that moment played repeatedly in her mind.
‘If I have to choose a marriage partner from amongst those ……, I’d like to ask Lux-Sama to marry me…'(TL/N: “I AM SPEED”)
Married to Lux-Sama.
‘When I tried to picture this in my mind, I was strangely not uncomfortable, unlike with the other princes.’
Eventually, Elizabeth became serious about her desire to be engaged to Lux, who had saved her life, and confided her feelings to her father, the current king.
