Genius Trainee: My Husband Isn't Human - Chapter 1
“The verdict is now announced. Because Luo Jingcha was involved in a major drug manufacturing and trafficking case, causing significant harm to society, and with conclusive evidence, Luo Jingcha is sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve!”
As the judge’s gavel fell, the woman in the defendant’s seat curved her lips into a faint smile, seeming both mocking and scornful, yet making it impossible to discern her true emotions at that moment.
As the trial concluded, the lawyer beside her whispered, “Miss Luo, I can only help you this far.”
Luo Jingcha slightly lowered her face, looking toward a grim-faced couple in the jury box, and said faintly, “It’s enough.”
As long as the death sentence wasn’t immediately carried out, she still had a chance…
For revenge!
People watched as Luo Jingcha was escorted away by the guards, their hearts filled with sighs. No one had ever thought that this woman, once hailed as a national goddess and a heavenly beauty, would commit such a terrible act for personal gain—truly despicable and infuriating.
Luo Jingcha had once been the pride of the entire S City!
She completed high school at ten, earned a doctorate in chemistry with international awards at seventeen, entered the entertainment industry out of interest at eighteen, won the title of youngest Best Actress at twenty, became Hollywood’s go-to Chinese actress by twenty-two, and was about to get engaged to film star Chen Jiang at just twenty-four.
She had been the quintessential winner in life, yet now because of one mistake, she had ruined everything. A perfect hand played terribly.
The spectators filed out of the courtroom, except for that couple. The woman said, “How could it be just a suspended death sentence!”
The man hesitated before saying, “Sisi, why don’t we just let it go? With a suspended death sentence, she’ll spend the rest of her life in prison at most. It won’t affect us anymore.”
The woman glared at him and cursed, “Idiot! What do you know? Don’t you understand who Luo Jingcha is? Give her the slightest chance, and who knows what unimaginable things she might do. No, today she must die!”
The woman whispered something into the man’s ear, then said viciously, “No matter how much money it costs or what price we have to pay, we must make sure she dies on her way back to prison!”
In the prison van, Luo Jingcha sat between two armed guards, wearing prison clothes and handcuffs, as if she were truly a heinous criminal.
But only she knew clearly that all these charges against her were completely fabricated!
Drug manufacturing, drug trafficking—Luo Jingcha found it all laughable just thinking about it.
As the only heir to the Luo family, she had sailed smoothly through life, getting whatever she wanted. Why would she do something so self-destructive?
Moreover, her father had served in the military, and she had been raised with values of patriotism and family loyalty. No matter how reckless she might be, she would never commit such an outrageous act.
Luo Jingcha’s tightly clenched fists had drawn blood from her palms. Such injustice and humiliation—as long as she lived, even if she were crushed to powder and her bones shattered, she would clear her name!
By now, the prison van had reached Lianjiang Bridge. Once they crossed this bridge, they would arrive at the prison. Suddenly, the vehicle began to shake violently. Luo Jingcha looked up to see a massive truck seemingly out of control, swerving toward them.
A truck of this size would leave no chance of survival if it hit them. Luo Jingcha finally couldn’t help but clench her teeth. Luo Sifen, did you really have to go this far to get rid of me?
The accident happened in an instant. No human reaction could overcome the control of inertia. With a tremendous crash, the truck collided with the police vehicle, sending it and several private cars plunging into the river…

Autopsy room.
This was Zhao Xiaoshi’s first time performing an autopsy alone, though with her instructor supervising. Still, facing such a corpse for the first time inevitably made her feel uneasy.
This was the body of an underage female, approximately seventeen years old. Her naked body was covered with bruises of various sizes. According to the police description, the cause of death was fatal beating due to school bullying, but food poisoning couldn’t be ruled out, which was why this autopsy had been arranged.
“Teacher Mo, I’ll begin now,” Zhao Xiaoshi said to the man beside her, holding the scalpel.
The man simply grunted without saying much else, not even a word of encouragement.
This man wasn’t actually her mentor. A homicide had occurred downtown today, and her regular mentor had been temporarily called to the scene to perform an autopsy, so another instructor had been called to supervise.
Zhao Xiaoshi felt cold. The man had barely spoken two sentences since arriving. At first, she had been smitten by his extraordinary good looks, but now in this autopsy room, his noble and cold demeanor made her feel as if she were facing two corpses, sending chills down her spine.
Since the man didn’t speak, Zhao Xiaoshi picked up the scalpel and made to cut into the chest as usual. But unexpectedly, just as her blade touched the skin, the corpse on the autopsy table suddenly opened its eyes.

When the vehicle was knocked off the bridge, Luo Jingcha’s mind went blank and she lost consciousness. When she regained awareness, she felt an intense pain in her chest and abruptly opened her eyes to see a gleaming scalpel sliding toward her.
Strong survival instinct made her instinctively grab the person’s wrist and pull forcefully. After hearing a cry of pain, the person dropped the scalpel. Luo Jingcha seized it and, gritting her teeth, stabbed fiercely at the woman.
“Oh my god! The corpse is killing people!”
Zhao Xiaoshi screamed. She never imagined she would die at the hands of a corpse. Was this heaven’s jealousy of her talent? Poor girl with her ill-fated beauty, only 23 years old and not even having had a boyfriend yet, about to meet her demise.
Luo Jingcha’s eyes were filled with murderous intent, her movements quick and vicious. However, just as the tip of the blade was about to touch Zhao Xiaoshi, a powerful hand suddenly gripped her wrist. The person moved so incredibly fast that before Luo Jingcha could react, the man had pulled her away from Zhao Xiaoshi.
Luo Jingcha’s gaze remained fierce as she twisted her body, trying to free her arm from the man’s grip. But unexpectedly, the man simply pulled her into his control, holding her in his arms.
The man took the scalpel from her hand and, staring into her eyes, said, “Be quiet.”
Just two words.
Luo Jingcha wanted to resist, but under those deep purple eyes, her body and consciousness seemed beyond her control. After a few seconds, she directly fell unconscious.
The man picked her up at the waist and placed her back on the autopsy table. Seeing her chest rise and fall, he looked away, grabbed a cloth from nearby, and covered her.
Noticing Zhao Xiaoshi still standing in shock, he said, “Go call an ambulance.”
Zhao Xiaoshi came to her senses and stammered, “Tea-Teacher Mo, is this… did she come back from the dead?”
The man narrowed his eyes, seemingly confused by such unprofessional words from a professional, and said, “She’s not dead.”
He removed his protective clothing, raised his hand to look at the hexagram mark burned into his palm, his deep eyes filled with mist.
Slowly closing his palm, he strode out of the autopsy room, saying, “Tell Nie Cheng he owes me a favor.”
