- Chapter 49 - Student Council Elections
“And finally, I will also be running in this year’s Student Council election. As many of you have already received information about the candidates, the voting is in your hands. I hope you will choose the most suitable candidates for the Student Council.” Orson concluded his speech with a bow.
“Who would’ve thought Orson would use this speech to campaign for votes,” Olivia said with a smile as she sat in the audience. She then glanced at the girl beside her—a serene and elegant young woman with long, light-blue hair and emerald-green eyes.
“I didn’t expect it either. But even if Orson didn’t campaign, everyone would probably vote for him anyway,” the girl replied, her tone carrying a hint of frustration. “I even went as far as to use some of my father’s resources to promote my campaign, but it seems people still prefer Orson.”
“Well, this is the academy, not the outside world,” Olivia said with a chuckle. “If this were outside, everyone would undoubtedly choose Princess Elsa.”
The blue-haired girl was none other than Elsa Lancaster, the imperial princess and a second-year student with student number 003.
“Sigh, but it’s true—if you take away my title as a princess, I can’t compare to Orson at all,” Elsa said with a sigh.
Although she had recently reached the level of a Tier 6 mage, she had only just crossed the threshold.
Meanwhile, Orson, who was in the same year, had already demonstrated dual Tier 6 abilities in both magic and combat a year ago. By now, he was likely even stronger.
If Orson had truly reached Tier 7, he would already surpass some of the academy’s combat instructors.
How could a student possibly compete with someone of that caliber?
On top of that, Orson’s reputation outside the academy was impeccable. He wasn’t known for any scandals or bad behavior. On the contrary, he was considered a model of morality.
Someone like him, radiating perfection from the inside out, was simply unbeatable.
“Olivia, I heard you’re running for Vice President?”
“Mm.” Olivia nodded. “I know I can’t compete with Orson for President, so I applied early to run for Vice President instead.”
“But you were the one who encouraged me to run for President.”
“True, but I also knew I couldn’t beat you, Princess Elsa. So… I might’ve been a little sneaky. Does that explanation satisfy you, Your Highness?”
“…Hmm.” Elsa sighed. “Do you really want to work alongside Orson that badly?”
“…” Olivia froze for a moment, her cheeks turning slightly red. “What do you mean by that, Your Highness?”
“Isn’t that your goal?” Elsa asked, looking at Olivia. “To work and study alongside Orson, so you can learn more.”
“Well, that’s certainly true,” Olivia admitted, nodding as she exhaled in relief.

After the opening ceremony ended, the students dispersed. The first-year students were the busiest—they had to finish settling into their dorms before returning in the evening to observe the Student Council election.
Candidate lists for the election had already been printed and distributed to all students in the upper three grades. Later that evening, the ballots would be collected, and the votes tallied.
While first-year students didn’t have voting rights, they were required to attend the election as witnesses to the formation of the new Student Council.
—
By evening, only the 1,000 first-year students remained in the auditorium.
In the back, several staff members were already tallying the collected ballots.
The Student Council election followed a multi-candidate system, with three positions up for grabs:
1. Student Council President
2. Student Council Vice President
3. Executive Director
Each candidate could only run for one position.
The candidates for President were second-year students Orson and Elsa.
The candidates for Vice President were second-year Olivia and third-year Lister.
For Executive Director, there were a total of ten candidates.
After the election concluded, the new President would nominate other members to form the Student Council’s leadership team.
The Vice President, as the title suggested, assisted the President in their duties.
The position of Executive Director, however, was particularly noteworthy.
The Executive Director was responsible for maintaining school discipline. Unlike other positions, which were re-elected annually, the Executive Director served until they either graduated or voluntarily resigned.
The previous Executive Director had graduated as a fourth-year, leaving the position vacant.
The Executive Director also held the authority to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President. If the President violated academy regulations or damaged the school’s reputation, the Executive Director could lead a vote to remove them from office.
—
By now, the candidates had taken their seats in the front row.
Orson and Elsa sat next to each other.
Orson glanced at the blue-haired girl beside him. As expected of the imperial princess, her breathtaking beauty left Orson momentarily holding his breath.
Her clear, water-like blue hair and emerald-green eyes were hallmarks of the Lancaster bloodline. It was said that the deeper the color of one’s eyes, the stronger their ancestral bloodline.
Curious, Orson leaned forward slightly to get a better look at Elsa’s eyes.
“Is there something wrong with my eyes?” Elsa turned to Orson, catching him staring. “Young Master Orson.”
“Apologies, that was rude of me, Your Highness,” Orson said, bowing his head in apology.
“It’s fine. You’ve probably heard the rumors, haven’t you?” Elsa smiled. “Sorry to disappoint you, but it’s just a baseless myth. There’s no connection between the depth of eye color and the strength of one’s bloodline.”
—
“Ahem.” Headmaster Luca, who was presiding over the election as the Academy Council’s chair, stepped onto the stage and cleared his throat to quiet the room. “The Student Council election will now begin. We will proceed in the order of Executive Director, Vice President, and finally, President.”
—
The Executive Director was elected first. The position went to a meticulous-looking brown-haired young man, Manuel Lisanus, a second-year student from the ruling family of the Aragon Duchy.
Next was the Vice President. Unsurprisingly, Olivia secured the position.
“Finally, we come to the election for Student Council President. There are two candidates: second-year student Orson…” Luca announced, prompting Orson to stand, bow to the audience, and receive a wave of applause.
“…and second-year student Elsa.” Luca continued, and Elsa stood as well, smiling and bowing to the audience.
“Now, I will announce the vote count for the two candidates.”
“A total of 2,999 votes were cast.”
“Elsa received 354 votes.”
“Orson received 2,530 votes.”
“In addition, there were 115 abstentions.”
“I hereby declare Orson the new Student Council President,” Luca said, tapping the gavel lightly on the podium to finalize the result.
“Congratulations, Orson,” Elsa said warmly, offering her sincere congratulations without a hint of bitterness.
“Ah, thank you,” Orson replied as he stood and walked to the podium to deliver his acceptance speech.
