- Chapter 52 - You Thought It Was a Twist, but It Wasn’t
Elsa walked out of the auditorium and headed straight back to her dorm.
She hated being used as a pawn, so even though she knew Tyril’s actions were meant to help her, she rejected his “kindness.”
She wasn’t naive; she could tell that Tyril had a grudge against Orson. And clearly, someone was backing Tyril—there was no way the son of a mere count would dare confront Orson directly.
As a member of the royal family, her role was to remain neutral and watch from the sidelines when factions clashed.
After leaving the auditorium, a short-haired girl with violet hair and a school uniform followed her.
She was Aphro, a second-year student and Elsa’s companion at the Imperial Academy.
“Your Highness, why are you leaving alone? You seem upset—did you lose the election?” Aphro asked, walking closely behind Elsa.
“Of course not,” Elsa said with a smile. “You already calculated my chances for me—I had no chance of winning this election, so why would I be upset about that?”
“Then…” Aphro thought for a moment and asked, “Was there a problem during the election?”
“Mm, you’re as sharp as ever. You always seem to figure things out,” Elsa said with a smile.
Aphro was an astrologer who could predict events by observing the constellations reflected in her crystal ball.
During a previous semester’s final exams, Aphro had predicted that wearing blue-themed clothing would bring Elsa good fortune. That day, Elsa wore a sky-blue dress and, as predicted, achieved second place in her grade.
Naturally, the first-place spot went to Orson.
It was hard to imagine that Elsa, who appeared so composed and rational on the surface, would so readily follow the advice of her astrologer companion, Aphro.
Of course, Aphro’s predictions weren’t omnipotent. Her abilities consumed precious gemstones as a cost—the rarer the gemstone, the more complex the prediction it could support.
In simpler terms, it required a significant financial investment.
Additionally, the field of astrology had three taboos:
1. Do not predict lifespans.
2. Do not predict matters of state.
3. Do not predict trivial details.
Violating any of these would render the astrology ineffective, and future predictions would also fail.
For example, if Elsa asked Aphro what questions would be on an exam, Aphro wouldn’t be able to predict it.
Similarly, if she inquired about her father’s lifespan or the empire’s fate, Aphro wouldn’t be able to answer.
But for almost everything else, Aphro could provide insights.
However, due to the high costs involved and the triviality of many matters, Elsa rarely asked Aphro to use her abilities.
“Sigh, it’s so frustrating,” Elsa said, letting her guard down slightly in front of Aphro and showing a more lively side. “Someone tried to use me as a pawn against Orson.”
“Orson, huh…” Aphro nodded. “I once caught a glimpse of Orson’s destiny during an astrological reading. His stars shine incredibly brightly. Without someone whose stars are even brighter, no one can defeat him.”
“Exactly,” Elsa agreed. “So, to avoid unnecessary trouble for myself, I walked out and let them tear each other apart inside.”

Meanwhile, on the stage, Orson watched as Lianca stepped up and frowned.
He had already planned how to use his words to expose Tyril’s lies, but now Lianca was stepping in—what was she up to?
Luca glanced at the magic stone Lianca handed him. The stone had been engraved with recording and playback functions, essentially serving as a magical camera.
The stone already contained stored magic. Once activated, it could begin recording. To play back the recorded footage, magic had to be injected in reverse.
“After class earlier, I had some matters to attend to, so I returned to the classroom. I was sitting in the corner and happened to record some footage using this magic stone. It might not be complete, but it should give everyone some clarity,” Lianca said, addressing the audience.
“Since everyone wants to know what happened, the evidence I hold should be useful.”
She then turned to Luca.
“Headmaster, you know how to use this, right?”
Luca nodded and injected magic into the stone.
A moderately sized projection appeared in the air.
Tyril’s forehead began to bead with sweat. He had no idea when Lianca had returned to the classroom.
If she had recorded everything from the beginning, there was no doubt that his side—the instigators—would be the ones condemned.
The projection showed the 1-1 classroom after the morning’s class meeting, starting from the part where Orson had spoken harshly to Tyril.
“Orson! Do you have any idea about the Student Council’s rules? You can’t just attack another student on academy grounds!”
“Oh, you mean the Student Council? Apologies, but the Student Council election is tonight. The council hasn’t been formed yet, so they can’t do anything about this.”
“By the way, I’ll be running in tonight’s election. If you have a problem with this, feel free to file a complaint with the Student Council afterward.”
The recording ended there.
The audience broke into murmurs, whispering among themselves.
Orson was stunned. He knew Lianca didn’t particularly like him, but he hadn’t expected her to dislike him enough to throw him under the bus like this.
So, was Lianca the mastermind behind all of this?
Litte, sitting in the audience, also looked at Lianca in confusion.
Isn’t she supposed to be my brother’s fiancée? Why isn’t she helping Orson at a time like this? Why is she undermining him instead?
Tyril, on the other hand, felt a wave of relief wash over him. He wanted to burst into laughter but restrained himself, given the setting.
This is perfect!
With this, my mission is as good as complete!
“Thank you, Lianca, for standing up for justice,” Tyril said, stepping forward to shake Lianca’s hand.
“Lianca, willing to expose her fiancé’s misconduct for the sake of fairness and justice, truly embodies integrity. I propose that Lianca be made Student Council President.”
“Who’s standing up for you? Get lost, you disgusting creature. And don’t call him my fiancé!” Lianca said, slapping Tyril’s hand away before turning to Luca.
“Headmaster, you used the wrong amount of magic. The playback wasn’t complete.”
“Oh, is that so?” Luca nodded and injected more magic into the stone. The projection reappeared.
—
“Well, well, Litte, we didn’t get much of a chance to chat earlier with the teacher around.”
It turned out that Lianca had been sitting in the classroom from the very beginning, quietly recording everything.
As Tyril’s familiar voice echoed from the projection, his smug smile froze in place.
