- Chapter 55 - Elsa’s Day
“Aphro,” Elsa said as she sat in her room, idly spinning a pen in her hand. She turned toward the violet-haired girl sitting beside her.
“What is it, Your Highness?” Aphro, who was reading a book, looked up at Elsa.
Her pointed ears briefly became visible, exposed to the air.
Aphro was, in fact, an elf. However, since non-human students were rarely admitted to the Imperial Academy, and because Elsa had specifically requested Aphro to accompany her as a study companion, Aphro had to use illusion magic to hide her elven ears.
When it was just the two of them, though, she no longer bothered with the disguise.
Elsa handed a gemstone to Aphro.
“Can you predict why Orson chose me as a Student Council officer?”
“Uh, Your Highness, have you forgotten? I can’t predict specific causes—only outcomes.”
“Fine.” Elsa nodded. “Then predict whether I’ll meet a romantic partner during my remaining three years at the academy.”
“You want me to predict your love life?” Aphro said as she pulled out her crystal ball and placed the gemstone on it.
Moments later, the once-sparkling gemstone lost its luster, turning into a dull, worthless stone.
“Well, Aphro, what did you see?”
“Mm.” Aphro nodded. “The Imperial Star points southeast, but…”
She frowned.
“Your star chart should have aligned with a single star, but during the prediction, I noticed two stars on the trajectory. One large star is approaching, while a smaller one is moving away.”
“You could’ve just spoken plainly,” Elsa said with a hint of annoyance.
“Oh, I was just trying to sound like a professional astrologer,” Aphro said, scratching her head with a sheepish smile. “To put it simply, Your Highness, during your time at the Imperial Academy, you’ll encounter your destined love. However, there are two potential candidates.”
“Two?” Elsa raised an eyebrow.
“Yes.” Aphro nodded. “Based on the alignment, the Imperial Star is central, and the southeast corresponds to…”
“The Stranick family.”
Aphro nodded again.
“So, you’re saying it could be Orson or Litte?” Elsa asked, taking out two more gemstones.
“Predict for both of them.”
“Alright.” Aphro nodded and began predicting Orson’s love life.
“Hmm?” Aphro froze.
Orson’s star chart was shrouded in black mist, obscuring everything. The normally clear lines representing fate were fragmented and broken.
“What’s wrong, Aphro?” Elsa asked, noticing her companion’s reaction.
“Ah…” Aphro hesitated before replying, “I’ve finished predicting Orson’s love life. Let me move on to Litte’s.”
She turned her attention back to the crystal ball.
This time, she was even more stunned.
Litte’s star chart was closely tied to the large, black-misted star she had just seen—Orson’s.
What does this mean? Litte’s future romantic connection is with Orson?
But Litte is supposed to be a boy…
Could it be that Litte is… not straight?
Did I just stumble upon something I shouldn’t have?
“Aphro?” Elsa called out, noticing that Aphro had been frozen in place for a while.
If neither of them is related to the princess’s romantic fate, then who in the Stranick family could it be?
“Uh…” Left with no other choice, Aphro decided to fabricate a lie.
“It’s Orson. Orson’s connection to Your Highness’s romantic fate is stronger.”
“Really?” Elsa asked, narrowing her eyes at Aphro, clearly skeptical.
“Really, really!” Aphro said, patting her chest. “Think about it—you didn’t listen to me last time and wore black to the exam. Didn’t your results turn out poorly?”
“But… still, the idea that Orson and I are destined…” Elsa muttered, covering her face in disbelief.
Her relationship with Orson wasn’t particularly good or bad. Although there had been some misunderstandings the previous day, she had resolved them in time. And today, Orson had chosen her as a Student Council officer, indicating that there was no animosity between them.
But beyond that, they had no real connection.
Why? It didn’t make sense…
Shaking her head, Elsa dismissed the thought.
“No, no, you must’ve made a mistake this time.”
“Haha, let’s hope so.” Aphro secretly hoped she had been wrong too. If Orson and Litte really turned out to be romantically involved, that would be… quite the shock.
Just then, there was a knock at the door downstairs.
Aphro quickly hid her ears again, and Elsa adjusted her appearance to look more composed and dignified.
The two of them went downstairs and opened the door.
Outside, members of the Student Council stood at the gate.
“Your Highness…”
“Just call me Elsa here. The academy has its own rules,” Elsa said with a smile.
“Understood.” The student nodded. “I’m here to ask about the recruitment schedule for Student Council departments and clubs. President Orson has assigned this task to you, Elsa. When do you think would be a good time to start recruitment?”
“Hmm…” Elsa thought for a moment and discreetly handed Aphro a gemstone.
Aphro understood immediately. After using her astrology, she leaned close to Elsa’s ear and whispered a date.
“Three days from now,” Elsa said with a smile.
“Three days?” The student looked at Elsa, then at Aphro, puzzled. “In previous years, Student Council and club recruitment always took place on the third day of the semester. Why delay it by two days this time?”
“Because three days from now is a better day,” Elsa replied with a smile. “Just trust me. You can leave now.”
“Alright.” The student nodded hesitantly, bowed, and left the dormitory.
—
That afternoon, Elsa sat at her desk, resting her chin on her hands, as heavy rain poured outside.
“So, Aphro, you said three days because that’s when the rain will stop, right?”
“Mm.” Aphro nodded, continuing to read her book.
“You’re always so reliable.” Elsa smiled.
Then, remembering Aphro’s earlier prediction about Orson, she added, “Of course, not always.”
Aphro didn’t say anything in response. She simply smiled faintly.
—
Meanwhile, Orson had just stepped into his dorm when the rain began to pour outside.
“Lucky me—I managed to avoid becoming the heavens’ punching bag,” Orson muttered as he entered the house.
He was still debating whether to have a talk with Litte about certain matters.
