- Chapter 57 - Olivia’s Love for Orson
Orson watched as Litte stomped upstairs in a huff and fell silent.
Could it be that Litte doesn’t like Lianca?
That made sense—after all, the two of them had recently fought. Although Lianca had later helped both him and Litte, liking her was probably out of the question.
It seemed he’d have to slowly help the two of them grow closer in the future.
After all, opposites always seem to attract and fit perfectly together in the end.

Meanwhile, Olivia returned to her dormitory. This year, she had applied to the council to change her dorm and was now living with her sister, Lianca.
Standing at the door, Olivia took a deep breath and adjusted her expression, deliberately putting on a sorrowful look before opening the door and stepping inside.
Inside the room, Lianca was pacing nervously.
Leaving her sister Olivia alone in the café had left her uneasy.
That beast in human clothing, Orson—her sister had sacrificed so much for her, and yet he still had the audacity to want both of them.
Even though he had eventually backed down, Lianca was still worried about her sister.
What if Orson had taken advantage of her sister under the guise of their engagement?
Then she saw Olivia return home, her face full of sorrow.
“Sister!” Lianca immediately rushed over, her concern evident. “Sister, that Orson didn’t do anything to you, did he?”
“Mm.” Olivia nodded. “Don’t worry, Lianca. I’ve spoken with Orson. He won’t try to bother you anymore.”
Her words carried a hint of exhaustion, as if she were deeply worn out.
“Sister…” Lianca felt a pang of guilt. “If it really doesn’t work out, we can just reinstate the engagement. I’ll be fine.”
“No need.” Olivia wiped the corner of her eye, pretending to be touched. “It’s okay, Lianca. Just knowing you care is enough for me.”
“But, Sister… you don’t want to be bound by this engagement either. You want to live a free life, don’t you?” Seeing her sister make such a huge sacrifice for her, Lianca couldn’t stop her tears from falling again.
“Lianca, you’re still young,” Olivia said, gently wiping away Lianca’s tears with her finger. “Promise me that you’ll live freely. One day, when you meet someone you truly love, be with them.”
“That way, when I look at you, I’ll still see hope.”
“Boohoo, Sister…”
The two embraced tightly again. After a while, Olivia said, “Lianca, I’m a bit tired. I’ll head upstairs to rest.”
“Mm.” Lianca wiped her tears and nodded. “Sister, don’t worry. I’ll become the person you want me to be!”
“Then I can rest easy.” Olivia smiled before heading upstairs to her room.
Once inside, her sorrowful expression instantly gave way to joy.
This was the most perfect start she could have hoped for!

It was about thirteen years ago when a five- or six-year-old Olivia first heard Orson’s name from one of her tutors.
“That young master of the Stranick family is truly remarkable. This year, his tutor resigned, saying there was nothing left to teach him.”
“Eh?” Young Olivia’s eyes widened with curiosity. “Why? Was the tutor not very smart?”
“At first, I thought so too, but that tutor had studied at the Imperial Academy. There’s no way they’d be incompetent. It just shows how incredibly gifted Young Master Orson is. They say he awakened his magical talents at the age of three. His future is limitless.”
A few years later, when Olivia was twelve and visited the capital for the first time, she entered the empire’s largest library. There, on the shelves near the entrance, she saw a row of neatly printed books.
“Miss Librarian, what are these books?”
“Ah.” The bespectacled librarian looked at Olivia and smiled. “These are navigation guides, summarizing and categorizing the empire’s library collections. They were written by Young Master Orson. You can take one if you’d like—it’ll help you find books in the areas you’re interested in.”
Once again, Olivia heard the name Orson. She nodded, picked up a book, and opened it. On the title page, Orson’s name was prominently displayed.
Sitting in the library, Olivia flipped through Orson’s book.
“Young Master Orson, you’ve arrived,” she heard the librarian say.
“Mm.” A slightly immature boy’s voice reached Olivia’s ears.
Turning her head, Olivia saw a boy with delicate features but a cold expression speaking with the librarian.
After getting his library card, he walked past her.
Noticing her gaze, he glanced at her briefly.
That was their first meeting.
Later, when Olivia enrolled in a noble school in the capital, she and Orson were in the same grade but different classes.
Whenever she passed by Orson’s classroom, Olivia couldn’t help but peek inside to see what he was doing.
On one school trip, a Tier 4 magic-infused tiger suddenly leaped out of the forest.
The teacher leading the group couldn’t fend it off and was gravely injured.
The students scattered in fear, leaving Olivia frozen in place.
As the tiger slowly approached her, its heavy breathing filled her ears.
“Run…” the injured teacher used the last of his strength to urge her.
But Olivia couldn’t move. Overwhelmed by the tiger’s presence, her legs gave out, and she collapsed to the ground.
At that moment, a gust of wind blew past, and the tiger roared.
Turning her head, Olivia saw Orson standing there, staring at the tiger with a frown.
“How is there a Tier 4 beast outside the capital?” he muttered, waving his hands. Chains of energy bound the tiger in place.
“Well then, let me send you on your way,” he said as countless blades and weapons materialized around him. They flew into the sky and rained down on the tiger.
By the time the guards arrived, the tiger was riddled with wounds, lying on the ground barely clinging to life.
From that moment on, Olivia’s feelings for Orson evolved—from curiosity to admiration, and finally, to love.
—
“Hehe.” Olivia opened her cabinet and took out a photo of Orson, gently running her fingers over it.
She had obtained this photo from members of the Orson Fan Club, which she had founded herself.
“Orson, now we can finally be together…”
—
Meanwhile, Orson suddenly sneezed.
Sigh, the weather’s turned cold, and it’s still raining. If I’m not careful, I might catch a cold.
Thinking this, Orson quickly took a sip of hot tea.
(Author’s Note: As for why Olivia, as the president of Orson’s fan club, doesn’t recognize the elven receptionist from earlier, it’s because the fan club is very large, and its founder deliberately concealed their identity. So, this isn’t a plot hole.)
