- Chapter 71 - You Won’t Have It Easy
Donny walked out of the club and boarded the carriage heading back to the academy.
Sitting in the carriage, Donny stared at the bustling crowd outside, his mind already plotting ways to deal with Orson.
“Just you wait, Orson,” Donny said, his tone filled with malice.
The events of that night were still vivid in his memory, and Donny couldn’t shake the feeling of humiliation, as if a bright green shadow hung over his head.
(TL Note: The “green shadow” likely refers to the Chinese cultural concept of “wearing a green hat,” which symbolizes being cheated on by a partner or spouse.)
Who could have imagined that his fiancée, Celineina, would somehow end up getting involved with Orson? Donny wasn’t delusional—he was well aware that he wasn’t as handsome or as capable as Orson.
However, his family was far more influential than Orson’s, and he had the approval and support of Celineina’s father, Louis.
He was the one who truly deserved to marry Celineina.
Moreover, Orson already has the Prussia Duke’s daughter as his fiancée, yet he’s now entangled with Celineina. Isn’t he afraid that the Prussia Duke might break off the engagement in anger?
After all, the marriage alliance between the Antica Duke and the Prussia Duke benefits Antica far more. Among the six duchies, Antica is the weakest, and only by aligning with the strongest—Prussia—can it hope to stand up to the other dukes.
Thinking of this, Donny immediately came up with several ideas.
So, after returning to his dormitory, he summoned Tyril and the others to his room late at night.
Tyril’s face had recovered over time, but his sharp, rat-like features still made him unpleasant to look at.
“Do you all know why I called you here?” Donny spoke in a deep voice, sitting on the sofa and looking at the group of subordinates standing respectfully before him.
The group shook their heads, indicating they didn’t know.
“Tyril.” At that moment, Donny called out Tyril’s name.
“Present!” Tyril responded immediately.
“I’m willing to overlook what happened before, but I’m giving you a task now, and you must complete it.”
“Yes.” Hearing that Donny was assigning him a task, Tyril stepped forward and bowed respectfully, awaiting his instructions.
“From now on, during class, I want you to cause trouble for Litte. Use every method you can think of to make his life difficult.”
“But, Young Master Donny, that might violate the academy’s rules…” Tyril’s head started to ache at the thought of targeting Litte again.
Who didn’t know that Litte’s older brother was Orson?
“I don’t care. If you don’t complete this task, I’ll report your actions to my father.”
“No, no, please don’t, Young Master Donny!” Tyril quickly relented. “I’ll do it. I promise.”
“Good.” Donny nodded. “I’ll have others keep an eye on your progress. If you dare to defy me, you’ll regret it.”
“I wouldn’t dare. Whatever you ask of me, I’ll do it, even if it kills me.”
“That’s the spirit.” Donny nodded in satisfaction.
“Also, tomorrow, help me arrange a meeting with Lianca. Tell her it’s about something important related to Orson. If she refuses, insist that it’s critical.”
“Understood.” This task seemed simple enough—just passing along a message—so Tyril breathed a sigh of relief.
“That’s all for now. You can all leave.”

The next day at noon, in the same familiar restaurant where Donny had previously met with Litte, he now awaited Lianca.
“Miss Lianca, it’s a pleasure to meet you. I’m Donny of the ruling Florence family from the Napolis Duchy. It’s an honor,” Donny said with a practiced smile as Lianca arrived.
He knew that Lianca cared a lot about appearances, so even though he was older than Lianca, he still behaved with great respect.
Sure enough, seeing Donny’s demeanor, Lianca’s initial annoyance at being disturbed softened. She asked, “Young Master Donny, you mentioned this meeting was about something related to Orson?”
“Ah, yes.” Donny nodded. “I heard that you and Young Master Orson are engaged, is that correct?”
“…” Lianca was about to deny it, but she remembered that the engagement’s annulment hadn’t yet been formally approved by her family. Reluctantly, she decided to go along with his assumption.
“Is there a problem?”
“Well, yes.” Donny nodded again. “Do you know Miss Celineina?”
“Hmm?” Lianca shook her head. “I’ve heard the name, but I don’t know much about her.”
“She’s the daughter of Louis, the president of the Silver Moon Trading Company,” Donny clarified.
“Oh.” Lianca nodded. “And?”
“A few days ago, there was a banquet in Saint Roland City hosted by President Louis. I saw Young Master Orson leaving the venue with Miss Celineina. I don’t know what happened between them afterward, but their relationship seems… unusual.”
Subsequently, Donny added a lot of fabricated details, such as Orson wrapping his arm around Celineina’s waist or leaning his face very close to hers…
“I see.” Hearing this, and recalling Orson’s earlier attempt to annul their engagement, Lianca began piecing things together.
So, Orson has fallen for Celineina. That’s why he wants to break off the engagement.
But then she shook her head.
No, Orson knows full well that he’s still engaged. If he’s fallen for another woman while still bound by an engagement, isn’t that cheating?
Even if the engagement has now shifted to her sister, Orson’s actions still amount to infidelity.
No, this won’t do. I have to tell my sister so she can confront Orson. There’s no way she can tolerate being humiliated like this.
If word got out, how would the Essenberg family save face?
Watching Lianca deep in thought, Donny felt a bit puzzled.
“Um… Miss Lianca, aren’t you angry?”
“Angry?” Lianca looked at Donny, confused.
Why would she be angry? Orson wasn’t her fiancé anymore.
Then she remembered that Donny didn’t know about the engagement change, so she quickly nodded.
“Oh, you mean angry? Of course, I’m angry.” Lianca stood up. “I’m going to demand an explanation right now. Thank you, Young Master Donny.”
With that, Lianca left the restaurant.
Watching her leave, Donny was left scratching his head.
Something’s not right. Lianca is supposed to be Orson’s fiancée. After everything I just told her, why didn’t she seem upset?
Oh well. At least she said she was going to demand an explanation. That means my plan worked, right?
With that thought, a vicious glint flashed in Donny’s eyes.
Hmph. Just wait, Orson. You like stealing other people’s lovers, don’t you? You like playing both sides, don’t you?
As long as I’m here, you won’t have it easy.
