- Chapter 90 - Went Out?
The more Litte looked at the defenseless Orson beneath her, the more painful her heart felt.
Orson trusted her so much, yet she had taken advantage of that trust to do something like this while he was unaware…
But…
The thought of Orson being with someone else tore her heart apart, as though it were being stabbed thousands of times.
It wasn’t just her dependence on Orson. Litte had come to understand that over this period, her feelings for Orson had evolved into a romantic attraction—a kind of love that one would feel for the opposite sex.
Her possessiveness ran deep. She couldn’t bear the thought of seeing Orson being taken away by another woman.
But… but…
“Orson, I was the one who came first. Why did it have to turn out like this…” As she thought this, Litte couldn’t help but unbutton Orson’s shirt one button at a time. Seeing Orson become increasingly exposed before her, Litte’s mood began to lift with excitement.
Then, all at once, she froze.
Wait… why was she doing this…
Her movements slowed and eventually stopped.
If she did this, Orson would undoubtedly be upset with her.
But if she didn’t, she would be the one who couldn’t bear it.
As these thoughts swirled in Litte’s mind, she suddenly heard movement downstairs.
Startled, Litte quickly got up, gathered her clothes from the floor, and dashed into the bathroom.

After comforting Lianca, Olivia sat and thought for a moment. Lianca’s behavior tonight wasn’t right—she must have been triggered by something.
Considering her options, Olivia decided to probe subtly. “Lianca, what did you do tonight?”
“Uh…” Lianca hesitated, afraid of being found out for following Olivia and Orson with Litte. After a pause, she said, “I spent the evening with Litte. We walked around the commercial district, checked out the activities on the academy streets, and that’s about it.”
“I see…” Olivia nodded. “Then tell me, why did you suddenly start bringing up those earlier topics? Were you triggered by something?”
“Eh… n-no, not at all. It’s just that… I figured things out on my own…” Lianca stammered.
Olivia could clearly tell that Lianca was lying. She sighed and said, “Lianca, you’ve never lied to your sister since you were little, and I’ve never lied to you. So why are you lying to me now? Are you afraid I’ll be upset with you?” As she spoke, Olivia showed a look of regret.
“N-no, not at all.” Lianca quickly shook her head. “What are you talking about, Sister? I-I could never lie to you.”
“Lianca, do you really think that your sister, who grew up with you, wouldn’t know when you’re lying?”
“Ugh…” Hearing this, Lianca lowered her head.
“So, tell me. What are you hiding from me? I won’t be angry—in fact, I’d be more upset if you didn’t tell me.”
“Alright…” Resigning herself, Lianca nodded. She then confessed everything about how she and Litte had followed Olivia and Orson throughout the evening.
“Just so you know, Sister, you said you wouldn’t be angry…” Lianca said carefully, sneaking a glance at Olivia’s expression.
“Mm-hmm, of course, I’m not mad~” Olivia smiled and nodded.
Of course, her sister couldn’t possibly like Orson if she was this unconcerned, Lianca thought to herself.
“Alright, Lianca, you should head upstairs and rest. I just remembered there’s something I need to take care of,” Olivia said, standing up and walking toward the door.
“And don’t even think about following me this time, okay?” Olivia added with a “kind” smile before stepping out of the dorm.
Lianca watched her sister leave, recalling the expression Olivia had just made. She swallowed nervously.
Sister was definitely angry just now!
—
Elsewhere, Olivia hurried toward Orson’s dormitory.
To her, it was obvious: if Litte had seen her and Orson kissing, there was no way someone as possessive and unhealthily attached as Litte would let it slide.
Of course, Olivia knew that Orson could easily overpower Litte if it came to it. But the problem was that Orson didn’t have the slightest guard up when it came to Litte.
What if Litte got his hands on some strange potion from someone and used it to knock Orson out, taking advantage of his defenseless state? That would mean Olivia would be getting “cheated on” for no reason!
Even if Litte had a shred of decency and didn’t do anything extreme, there was no telling what he might say to Orson afterward.
Sure, Litte was a boy, but what if Orson’s soft heart gave in?
The thought made Olivia quicken her pace.
When she arrived at Orson’s house, Olivia knocked on the door for a long time, but there was no response. She then opened the door from the outside and walked in.
For some reason, the dormitory door wasn’t locked today.
She rushed upstairs and headed straight for Orson’s room.
Opening the door, she saw Orson fast asleep on the bed. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.
Thankfully, it seemed Litte wasn’t completely unhinged.
But Olivia soon noticed that something felt off.
When she entered, she had made quite a bit of noise, yet Orson didn’t react at all and simply remained asleep on the bed as usual.
Even now, as she stood by his side, loudly walking around, his breathing remained calm and steady.
“Orson? Orson?” Olivia called softly, gently patting his face.
“Orson’s asleep. Don’t disturb him.” At that moment, Litte emerged from the bathroom.
Of course, by now, she had already changed back into her clothes, returning to her usual male attire.
“Litte?” Olivia frowned, staring at Litte standing in the bathroom doorway. “Why are you in Orson’s room?”
“The bathroom in my room is broken, so I borrowed Orson’s. Is that a problem?” Litte tilted her head. “And besides, I’m Orson’s brother. Am I not allowed to be here?”
“What about you, Olivia?” Litte’s expression darkened. “Don’t you think it’s a bit improper for a young lady to show up in a man’s dorm late at night?”
“…I’m…”
“Stop right there. I know you’re Orson’s fiancée, and I also know that you even kissed him tonight,” Litte said. Then she continued, “But even if your relationship is officially confirmed, you’re not married yet, are you?”
“I’m just checking on Orson, that’s all…”
“Oh?” Litte chuckled softly. “Olivia, Orson is my brother. I’m the one who takes care of him in the dorm. Isn’t your concern a bit… excessive?”
“Litte…” Olivia’s tone turned serious. “Orson is like this because of you, isn’t he?”
“What are you talking about? Orson’s just exhausted. He’s been busy with academy festival preparations, hasn’t he? As Vice President of the Student Council, Olivia, not only have you failed to help him, but you’ve also used your position for personal gain, openly flirting with him during work hours and wasting his time.”
“Orson’s current state is actually because of you, isn’t it?”
“Enough, Litte!” Olivia suddenly raised her voice. “I’ve been polite to you because I see you as my future brother-in-law.”
“Well, I’m sorry, but I’ve never planned on seeing you as my sister-in-law.”
“In any case, Orson needs rest. During this time, I’ll be taking care of him. So, can you leave, Olivia?”
“…” Olivia nodded after a moment of silence. “Litte, no matter how much you dislike me, I don’t mind. But Orson has always been good to you.”
“Orson said you’re a good kid. I believe you won’t go against his wishes and do something that would hurt everyone.” With that, Olivia turned and left the room.
Litte held back her emotions until she heard the front door close. Only then did she collapse by the bedside, clutching Orson tightly as she began to cry.
Yes, just as Olivia had said, Orson trusted her. He believed she was a good person.
But what was she doing now?

Not far away, through a window, Therese observed the scene inside the dormitory. She glanced at Hecatia, who was lounging on the roof, and let out a sigh.
“It seems your guess was correct, Hecatia,” she said.
“Litte really does have strong feelings for Orson.”
“If this continues, indulging these emotions will only drive Litte further into a corner. It won’t end well for anyone,” Therese said.
“I know.” Hecatia nodded. “But what can we even do about it…”
“I’m saying, you probably have a solution, don’t you?”
“Huh?”
“Wouldn’t it be simple if Litte just openly acknowledged her identity as a girl and interacted with Orson as such?”
“But do you really think that’s feasible? A duke’s family suddenly announcing that their son is actually their daughter?”
“But she is a girl.”
“…” The two fell into silence.
After a while, Hecatia suddenly asked, “Therese, do you remember what happened eighteen years ago?”
“Not really,” Therese admitted. “I’ve lived a long life. Unless something left a deep impression, it’s hard for me to recall.”
“But something major did happen eighteen years ago, didn’t it?”
“Are you talking about the orc invasion of the Empire?” Therese asked. “That was a catastrophic event—nearly every older citizen of the Empire remembers it.”
“Not just that,” Hecatia said. “Compared to what I’m talking about, the orc invasion is nothing.”
“At least, within our circle of witches.”
“You mean…”
“Yes.” Hecatia nodded. “Lady Alice disappeared eighteen years ago. If you think about the timing, could it be connected to them?”
“Hecatia, your mind is wandering too far!” Therese exclaimed. “Lady Alice disappeared outside the Empire. How could it possibly be related to these two?”
“Fair enough.” Hecatia sighed. “It’s just that, aside from Lady Alice, I’ve never seen anyone else with such magical talent.”
“I know you admire Lady Alice deeply, but let it go. The era of the witches has long passed,” Therese said as she mounted the broomstick that marked her as a witch and flew off into the distance.
Hecatia let out another sigh before following her.

After crying for a long while, Litte looked at the still-sleeping Orson. She leaned down to plant a soft kiss on his forehead and whispered, “Goodnight,” before quietly climbing into bed next to him.
Even if she didn’t do anything to Orson, Litte still wanted to sleep by his side under the pretense of “sleepwalking.” It was the only way she could feel at ease.
—
The next day, Orson didn’t wake up until almost noon.
When he opened his eyes, he felt completely refreshed, as though all the fatigue from the past few days had melted away.
Getting out of bed, Orson went to the bathroom to wash up. While looking in the mirror, he noticed a small red mark on his neck. Though it was faint, it stood out against his pale skin.
“How strange. Why is there a mark here? Did I press against something while sleeping?”
“No, no, this looks way too ugly.”
Orson splashed some water on it, but the mark wouldn’t fade. Resigned, he changed into a high-collared shirt to cover it up.
Even after getting dressed, Orson couldn’t shake a lingering feeling of unease.
After fixing his clothes, he glanced in the mirror again, still feeling that something was off.
Then, his gaze shifted to his hair.
Odd. He normally kept his hair trimmed neat and short. Why did it seem longer than usual after just one night’s sleep?
No, no, this won’t do. I need to cut it.
With that thought, Orson grabbed a pair of scissors and began trimming his hair in front of the mirror.
Once his hairstyle was back to its usual clean look, Orson nodded in satisfaction.
Yup, this is the proper image of a manly man.
He then headed downstairs.
In the kitchen, Litte was preparing lunch.
“Hey, Litte, good morning.”
“Mm, good morning, Orson.”
Litte turned to face him, dark circles under her eyes, yet smiling warmly.
“Lunch will be ready soon. By the way, you woke up pretty late today.”
“Ah, I guess I’ve been too busy these past few days, so I slept a bit longer. It’s fine, I feel refreshed now.”
“Alright.” Litte nodded.
After lunch, Orson headed to the Student Council, while Litte left the academy to visit Virgil’s headquarters.
As soon as Litte arrived at the casino, a few subordinates who recognized her came forward to greet her.
“Um, Lord Beta, Lord Alpha has been out for the past few days. He said all matters here are to be handled by you. What are your instructions…?”
Virgil is out? Litte felt puzzled. Saint Roland City was essentially Virgil’s stronghold; he usually stayed here. Why would he suddenly leave?
However, Litte still nodded.
“I understand. Lead me inside.”
