- Chapter 6 - Gathering Materials For A Quest
After finding a place to stay, I left the city and stood in a field.
This is known as the Entrance to the Holy City and is located immediately after exiting the South Gate of the Holy City of Tzire. It is an area filled with monsters that even beginners can defeat.
“Wow! What a great view!”
This is it! This is the view I wanted to see and experience. To breathe in the scent of the earth, to feel the fresh air beneath the blue sky so high that it makes one dizzy, to truly sense the smell of freshly cut grass, and to gaze about at the majestic heights above. Finally, my heart filled with joy as I finally made it to the starting point.
There are a lot of places I want to see after I level up, so I’m looking forward to that.
Well then.
I’m going to do the tutorial for “Reaz”. To be more specific, the first tutorial quest. I really want the Adventurer Bracelet, which is the reward for completing this quest.
Although I haven’t accepted the quest yet, I know what items are required to finish it, so I’ll get them first.
Looking around this large meadow, I notice two species of monsters roaming the area.
One of them is Pururu, an orange-jiggling slime-like monster, and the other is a small rabbit with a flower blooming on its head named Flower Rabbit.
There are also a variety of plants growing there, including medicinal herbs.
To finish this quest, I need 5 Pururu Jellies, 3 Bunny Flowers, and 10 White Flower Herbs.
“All right, shall I get started?”
First, I focused on hunting Pururus. This is because I am still at level 1, thus it will be easier for me to hunt Pururus, who are substantially weaker than Flower Rabbits.
After standing in front of a Pururu, I carefully raised my Iron Blunt Mace high and swung it downwards. When my mace struck the Pururu directly, the body scattered and disappeared. Honestly, it’s difficult to explain the scene when the Pururu was smashed.
What remains after the Pururu has vanished is an item known as Pururu Jelly. The jelly is spherical in shape and about the size of a table tennis ball. This drop is extremely useful for beginners because it restores a small amount of HP when consumed.
“In this world, this is also considered a snack for commoners.”
I’m the daughter of a duke, so I’ve never eaten it, but my servant once told me it is quite delicious so I’ve been interested about its taste for quite some time.
Reas employs cutting-edge Full Dive technology, however the game does not allow you to taste the foods available. Technically, they could implement it, but many people are concerned that if it is implemented in the game, many users will refuse to log off and eat. I suppose it’s correct that they didn’t implement that functionality.
Should I eat this?
It looks and smells like marmalade orange jam, and it appears extremely tasty. Although Pururu Jelly is a quest item, the drop rate is likely to be about 90%, making it easy to obtain.
That’s why I decided to eat it.
“Itadakimasu!”
When I put it in my mouth, the silky texture and refreshing, cool taste relaxes my cheeks. To be honest, I hadn’t eaten anything sweet before I arrived here because I was so busy. So it’s been a long time since I had something this sweet.
“Mmmm, delicious!”
The faint aroma of a Mandarin Orange makes me feel as if all of my stress is being lifted, which is why I finished it so quickly.
“Okay, I’m going to continue hunting them like this!”
I raised my Blunt Iron Mace again, defeating another Pururu with a single blow. After that, I grabbed the Pururu Jelly and put it in my bag.
After defeating a couple more Pururu, a loud notification echoed across my mind. It’s the sound made when a player levels up.
“This is really good!”
I can’t check my status screen right now, so I’ll just do it later.
After defeating seven more Pururu and collecting all Pururu Jelly, I now have all of the required Pururu Jelly, and the next step is to gather Bunny Flower.
“Kyu”
A Flower Rabbit suddenly appeared in front of me. They are the same size as rabbits that can be found in the real world; the only difference is that they have flowers of all colors growing on their heads, which they utilize to attack, along with their sharp and long fangs. At first glance, they appear to be cute rabbits.
When this was still a game, I didn’t mind how many times I hunted them, but now that I’m in front of them in real life, I can’t bear the thought of defeating such a small animal.
It’s one thing if it is in a cute game graphics, but when it comes to reality, this is really difficult. It makes me feel guilty. However, even if the monster is cute, I must to defeat them! While still hesitatant, I raised the Blunt Iron Mace that I was holding.
“I’m really sorry, bunnnnny!”
“Kyu?”
One of the good things about this world is that whenever you defeat a monster, it will instantly disappear, leaving behind a drop item. To be honest, I don’t have the means to dispose of the dead rabbit remains behind and it’s also difficult for me to take it home.
By the time I had defeated several Flower Rabbits and collected the requisite Bunny Flower, I was used to defeating them.
Finally, all I need is the White Flower Herb, which was growing everywhere in this area, so I’ll be able to pick them swiftly.
It probably took about an hour to collect everything. I was relieved that it was over sooner than I expected.
All that remained was to return to the city and complete the quest. Feeling a little excited, I run towards the city.
