The door was kicked open from the outside, making a loud noise.

The man rushed to the bed like a gust of wind, roughly dragging the woman on the bed and throwing her to the ground. His voice was harsh: “Yun Zishu, you madwoman! Why did you push Xue’er into the lake? You knew she was pregnant and you did it on purpose to kill her, didn’t you? You wicked woman, you’re nothing but vicious!” 

Yun Zishu groaned in pain as the impact jolted her awake from unconsciousness. Her ears rang from the roar, making her head throb . 

She opened her eyes with difficulty, Yun Zishu’s vision fell upon the handsome and dashing face of Xiao Yunheng. She was momentarily stunned, instinctively falling into a daze. 

Xiao Yunheng? Why isn’t he dead? 

“Yun Zishu, get up!” Xiao Yunheng viciously lifted her up and violently threw her onto the bed, “Don’t play dead!” 

Yun Zishu was caught off guard and fell down, causing her to feel dizzy and unable to move for a while. 

“You’re still pretending?” Xiao Yunheng’s gaze was so icy as he raised his hand to strike her face. “If Xue’er suffers even the slightest harm, I swear I won’t let you off—”

However, before the slap could land, the wrist was suddenly seized midway. Yun Zishu opened her eyes, her gaze as cold as ice: “Xiao Yunheng, are you planning to rebel?!” 

Xiao Yunheng was taken aback, then his expression darkened: “What did you say?” 

As soon as the words were spoken, a commotion of footsteps came from outside and soon a middle-aged woman, surrounded by numerous maids walked in with a furious expression and a grim tone, “Where is that venomous woman, Yun Zishu?” 

Yun Zishu released Xiao Yunheng’s hand, silently sat up from the bed, and raised her hand to rub her still somewhat groggy head. 

“Yun Zishu!” The middle-aged woman burst into the inner room, pointing her finger at Yun Zishu, and angrily questioned, “What did Xue’er do to offend you? You actually had the heart to push her into the lake yourself! Even if you are jealous of the child in her womb, you shouldn’t resort to such cruelty! Are you even human for laying hands on an unborn child?!”

Yun Zishu raised her eyes to look at her, her gaze icy and devoid of any emotional fluctuations. “Don’t think that just because you’re a princess, you can act recklessly and bully others in the Xiao family!” The middle-aged woman continued to clamor, “The Xiao family won’t put up with this!”

Yun Zishu sneered coldly: “The Xiao family will not accept this? May I ask Madam Xiao, what kind of tricks will the Xiao family accept? Do you accept the tricks of insubordination and conspiracy?” 

Xiao Yunheng’s expression changed abruptly: “Yun Zishu, what nonsense are you spouting?! Shut up!” 

“You… you are simply disrespectful and rebellious!” Madam Xiao was so angry her face turned green, completely unable to believe

that Yun Zishu, who had always been silent, had actually learned to talk back. “Get up and kneel on the ground! Today, I will definitely use family rules to teach you a lesson about propriety!” 

Yun Zishu gave a cold smile: “Madam Xiao is truly bold, a mere subject’s wife dares to shamelessly teach a princess the rules. If these words were to reach the palace, I wonder what crime the Emperor would punish the Xiao family with?” 

“You…you…you…” Madam Xiao’s face changed, as if she had seen a ghost, looking at Yun Zishu, “You dare to threaten me with the Emperor?” 

Yun Zishu took a deep breath, turned her head to look at Xiao Yunheng, her eyes as cold as if steeped in frost. 

It’s this man in front of me. 

In her previous life, she was ruined and disgraced, abandoned by everyone, and after her death, she didn’t even have a place to be buried.

“Do you know what the crime of falsely accusing a princess is, Madam Xiao?” Yun Zishu spoke slowly and calmly, “Would you like this princess to tell you?”

Madam Xiao was momentarily speechless and coldly said, “No one is slandering you. So many servants saw it with their own eyes; it was you who pushed Xue’er into the lake!”

Yun Zishu looked at her coldly and said, “Let me ask you one more time, what is the crime of falsely accusing the princess?”

Xiao Yunheng spoke up angrily, “Yun Zishu, don’t go too far! Who gave you the permission to speak to my mother in this tone?” 

“Even when death is imminent, you remain oblivious.” 

Yun Zishu gave a cold smile, lifted her foot, and walked outside, “Leng Shuang.”

 Leng Shuang standing outside walked in, “Your Highness.”

“You go to the palace immediately and summon the most skilled imperial physician from the Imperial Hospital.”

“Yes.”

Xiao Yunheng’s face changed: “Yun Zishu, what are you trying to do?”

“Nothing much,” Yun Zishu said calmly. “Didn’t the concubine say that I pushed her into the lake, causing her to miscarry? Let the imperial physician come over to take her pulse and see if she really had a miscarriage.”

Xiao Yunheng gritted his teeth: “You’ve already seen blood, it’s no use trying to deny it!”

Yun Zishu had a terrible headache and was in no mood to argue with him. She ordered Leng Shuang, “Go quickly!”

“Yes!”

Leng Shuang walked out quickly, but was stopped by the guards of the General’s Mansion as soon as she reached the outside of the courtyard.

Leng Shuang left the General’s Mansion without any obstruction and went straight to the palace.
