Chapter 13: The Scent of a Woman

At this moment, Liu Suyan stopped struggling and let Lu Qiwen hold her hand. The blush on her face had faded, and she had calmed down. Glancing at Lu Qiwen leading her forward, she was surprised. How did this guy become so bold after just one trip home? First, he dared to tease her, and now he was holding her hand.

As they briskly walked out of the campus, everyone who saw Lu Qiwen holding Liu Suyan’s hand looked as if they had seen something unbelievable, watching them until they disappeared from sight.

Although Liu Suyan was used to being the center of attention, being led by Lu Qiwen through the campus made her realize that soon enough, this incident would be the talk of the town. She consoled herself, thinking that she couldn’t break free from his grip and had something important to discuss with him.

If Lu Qiwen knew what was going through Liu Suyan’s mind, he might have burst out laughing.

When they reached the pedestrian street, Liu Suyan finally lifted her head and said, “Where are you taking me? Let go of my hand.”

Reluctantly, Lu Qiwen released her soft hand and smiled, “If you have time, how about joining me for some tea?”

He glanced at a nearby teahouse.

To his surprise, Liu Suyan, who usually never accepted invitations, nodded.

Lu Qiwen was momentarily stunned, not expecting her agreement. Liu Suyan, seeing his dazed expression, smiled and said, “Why are you just standing there? Are you reluctant to spend money on tea?”

Snapping out of it, Lu Qiwen laughed, “How could I be? It’s an honor to have a beautiful woman like you accompany me for tea.”

Liu Suyan gave him a charming look and said, “Then lead the way. You said you’d treat me to tea, but you have no sincerity.”

Dazed by her charm, Lu Qiwen quickly led the way to the teahouse, his mind full of questions. Could it be that touching her chest yesterday had sparked her interest in him? Otherwise, why would the usually reserved Liu Suyan be acting so differently?

Stealing a glance at her, he saw her serene, glowing face. Apart from marveling at the mystery of a woman’s heart, he could only sigh, “Men, don’t try to guess a woman’s thoughts.”

Entering the teahouse, they found a quiet corner. Lu Qiwen pulled out a chair for her and said, “Please, have a seat.”

After ordering two cups of premium tea, Lu Qiwen looked at Liu Suyan and said, “Teacher Suyan—”

She glared at him, “Didn’t I tell you not to call me ‘teacher’ outside of school? It makes me sound old.”

Lu Qiwen nodded, “Yes, yes. How could someone as young as you be old? Even if I become an old man, you’ll still be beautiful.”

Every woman loves to be complimented, and Liu Suyan was no exception. Hearing his words, a hint of joy flashed in her eyes. Although pleased, she playfully scolded, “You didn’t used to be this smooth-talking. Did you get a girlfriend recently?”

Lu Qiwen laughed bitterly, “You know I don’t have a girlfriend. I’m just telling the truth. If you don’t believe me, ask any man, and if they don’t say you’re beautiful, I’ll punch them.”

Seeing his animated gestures, Liu Suyan laughed, “I’m not as good as you say.”

Lu Qiwen chuckled. Just then, the waiter brought their fragrant tea.

Smiling, Lu Qiwen handed a cup to Liu Suyan and took a sip of his own. The tea’s smooth, fresh taste filled his mouth, leaving a lingering sweetness. He felt a sense of bliss.

After a while, he opened his eyes to find Liu Suyan looking at him curiously.

Embarrassed, he said, “Sorry, I got lost in the taste. I didn’t expect such authentic Tieguanyin in a small teahouse.”

Liu Suyan blushed slightly and said, “I didn’t know you were knowledgeable about tea. My father always said this place had the best Tieguanyin. I’m surprised you recognized it.”

Lu Qiwen smiled, “It’s nothing. My father made me learn when I was young. Sorry if I seemed pretentious.”

Liu Suyan looked at him in surprise. She hadn’t expected Lu Qiwen to have such refined tastes. Could his family background be more impressive than she thought?

Noticing her gaze, Lu Qiwen admired her perfect face up close. Thanks to the Beauty Pills he provided, her skin was flawless, glowing with a healthy radiance that made him want to kiss her.

Taking a deep breath, he caught the faint scent of orchids from her. Struggling to stay composed, he asked, “Suyan, why did you want to see me? You usually only come to me for Beauty Pills.”

Blushing, Liu Suyan thought, “Idiot, I’m a girl. Do I have to be the one to ask you out? Can’t you take the initiative?”

Of course, she didn’t say this out loud. Instead, she adjusted her expression and said, “You’re quite perceptive. Guess why I wanted to see you.”

Lu Qiwen took another sip of tea and smiled, “If it’s not for a date, it must be for pills. Do you really want the Shuiyun Pills?”

He feigned surprise, looking at her.

Liu Suyan rolled her eyes, “Only a fool would buy those. Keep them for yourself.”
