Chapter 22: No Need to Be Polite

Lu Qiwen sat quietly, enjoying the feel of Liu Suyan’s smooth hands massaging his foot. He had never imagined a day like this would come, given that Liu Suyan always seemed so unattainable.

Liu Suyan looked up with concern, “Qiwen, how does it feel now? If it still hurts, we should go to the campus clinic.”

Lu Qiwen shook his head with a smile, “With you personally tending to me, it feels much better already.”

Liu Suyan rolled her eyes, “Smooth talker. Serves you right if it hurts.”

Lu Qiwen slowly reached out, noticing a few strands of hair falling over Liu Suyan’s forehead. She seemed to sense what he was about to do but didn’t move away. Instead, she continued to massage his foot.

A faint fragrance wafted over as he gently tucked the strands behind her ear. He noticed the small earlobe and the tiny hole where an earring might go, though he had never seen her wear any.

Instinctively, he touched her earlobe, causing her to shiver. Her face flushed, and she glared at him before quickly retreating to the bathroom to wash her hands. She stayed there for a while before coming back out, her face now calm.

Sitting beside him, she glanced at him and casually said, “Qiwen, why do you smell like perfume?”

Caught off guard, Lu Qiwen quickly replied, “Oh, the scent? It’s a long story. I haven’t eaten yet. Could you make me something to eat? We can talk while we eat.”

Liu Suyan checked the time and realized it was almost noon. She glared at him, “Today, I’ll cook for you. You’re lucky.”

Lu Qiwen chuckled, “Too bad my foot’s injured, or I’d cook for you. But next time, I’ll make you something.”

She tossed the TV remote to him, “Watch TV while I cook.”

Lu Qiwen sat on the sofa, watching TV and listening to the sounds of cooking from the kitchen. He murmured, “It feels so good to be home.”

Just then, Liu Suyan peeked out from the kitchen. Seeing her, he teased, “What are you sneaking around for?”

Blushing, she looked like a housewife in her apron. “I’m just checking on you,” she said, glancing at her bedroom to see if he had tried to sneak in.

Following her gaze, Lu Qiwen saw the slightly open bedroom door. Smiling, he said, “Focus on cooking. Don’t burn the food and ruin your reputation.”

Seeing her disappear back into the kitchen, Lu Qiwen’s thoughts drifted to her bedroom. He was sure no one but Liu Suyan had ever been in there. It was just a feeling, but he trusted it.

He sneaked a glance at the kitchen, hearing her sing softly as she cooked. Smiling, he quietly made his way to her bedroom.

Entering the room, he was enveloped by her unique scent. The room was simple and elegant, with a bed by the window, a dressing table, a desk, two chairs, and a wardrobe. Everything was neat and orderly.

The bed was neatly made, and her white bath towel lay on top. As he sat on the bed, a soft sensation greeted him. Moving the towel aside, he noticed a small, yellow item fall out.

Looking closer, he saw it was a delicate pair of cotton panties with lace trim. Imagining Liu Suyan wearing them, he felt a rush of heat.

Trying to control his thoughts, he picked up the panties, feeling their softness. Just then, he heard hurried footsteps and Liu Suyan’s slightly anxious voice, “Qiwen, where did you go?”

Startled, he quickly replied, “I’m here.”

Realizing he was still holding her panties, he panicked and stuffed them into his pocket just as she walked in. Seeing him on her bed, she blushed, “What are you doing in here?”

Feeling calmer, he met her gaze, “Why can’t I be here? The door wasn’t locked. Do you have something to hide?”

Glaring at him, she said, “Look all you want.”

Grinning, he said, “Since you insist, I won’t be polite.”

He stood up and limped toward her wardrobe. Panicking, she stepped in front of him, “What are you doing?”

She couldn’t let him see her wardrobe, where her intimate clothes were kept. It would be too embarrassing.

Seeing her blush, he smiled, “Nothing. You said I could look around. I was just curious about the wardrobe. But don’t worry, I’m not interested in what’s inside.”
