- Chapter 153 - The Dog Who Wanted to Steal Her Away
Ruan Tang was “bullied” until soft little whimpers slipped from her lips like a frightened animal.
It only stoked Ao Yue’s passion further.
But afraid of scaring her, he forced himself to hold back. Instead, he pressed her tightly into his chest, arms wrapped around her as though he’d never let go.
His voice rasped low: “Tangtang, let’s run away together, okay?”
Ruan Tang’s eyes widened in fright.
She shook her head quickly: “N-no, I can’t…”
Ao Yue’s gaze dropped, filled with disappointment. Then as if recalling something, his dog ears perked up, and he eagerly leaned closer.
“Don’t you like dogs? I’ll let you pet me as much as you want. No charge!”
His features were striking and handsome, the tips of his white-dyed hair sharp against his cool expression. But now, a pair of floppy ears stuck out of his head, twitching nervously. The contrast between his usual aloof look and his puppy-like eagerness made him seem absurdly cute.
Ruan Tang couldn’t resist. She reached up and rubbed his hair.
Ao Yue’s eyes narrowed with pleasure, a muffled “awoo…” escaping from deep in his throat.
“And my tail too—do you like it?”
His fluffy dog tail swished eagerly, the texture soft beneath her hands.
So Ruan Tang indulged herself, stroking until she was thoroughly satisfied.
Ao Yue’s eyes sparkled, his tail wagging even faster.
“So? Will you elope with me now? You can pet me every day! I can even transform and let you play with me!”
Ruan Tang hesitated this time.
But remembering her mission, she steeled herself and shook her head again.
“I’m sorry… I still can’t leave.”
Ao Yue’s face hardened instantly, suspicion flashing in his gaze.
“Why not? Who are you hung up on? Don’t tell me—it’s my cousin!”
Ruan Tang tilted her head, surprised. “Eh? How did you know?”
Could he possibly see through her mission?
But to Ao Yue, that sounded like an indirect confession that she liked Lang Jin.
Jealousy flared.
In an instant, he pinned Ruan Tang beneath him, voice rough with fury as he crushed his lips to hers.
“Then I’ll just kiss you until you forget him! Until you only remember me!”
Ruan Tang tried to protest, but the moment her lips parted, his tongue slipped in.
His large hand cupped the back of her neck, keeping her from escaping as he deepened the kiss relentlessly.
By the end, Ao Yue had forgotten why he even started—he only knew he was drowning in her sweet softness.
Ruan Tang’s cheeks burned, tears threatening to spill.
Ao Yue couldn’t suppress himself, his hand sliding slowly toward the hem of her dress.
This time, he truly wanted to make her his. Completely.
Just then—Huli Yan entered the cave.
The sight before him made his mind snap in one clear direction:
—Kill that damn dog.
Ruan Tang barely understood what was happening.
By the time she finally managed to breathe again, she opened her tear-filled eyes only to see Ao Yue and Huli Yan locked in a vicious fight.
Their claws ripped through stone walls, the cavern scarred by savage strikes.
He Bai walked toward her, gaze falling on her swollen, reddened lips. His entire aura chilled into sharp killing intent.
“Tangtang. I’ll take you away.”
Suppressing his fury, he gently took her hand and led her toward the cave mouth.
Ruan Tang stumbled after him, glancing back anxiously.
Huli Yan was the great villain of this world, second only in strength to the male lead after his fall into darkness.
Ao Yue wasn’t his match.
And sure enough, Ao Yue was pushed back again and again, struggling to hold his ground. Huli Yan’s attacks grew sharper, merciless—he was trying to kill him outright.
Ruan Tang’s brows knitted, voice soft and trembling.
“Don’t…”
But He Bai held firm, pulling her forward.
“Don’t concern yourself with him. A mutt who dares lay a hand on you must be ready to die for it.”
Just as his words fell, a long-fingered hand shot out and seized He Bai’s throat.
The grip looked light, but He Bai’s face immediately paled, struggling in disbelief.
“It’s… you?”
The newcomer was none other than Lang Jin, who had disappeared for days.
His appearance hadn’t changed much, but his aura had become overwhelmingly fierce. Power surged from him, shrouded in faint black mist—so strong that with a mere flick of his hand, he could snuff He Bai out.
Lang Jin’s expression was cold, lips parting with measured calm:
“You’re right. Dogs who covet what isn’t theirs deserve death.”
He truly meant to kill He Bai.
Ruan Tang panicked, clutching his arm.
“Lang Jin! Let go of Teacher! He taught me how to transform—he’s a good person!”
Jealousy flickered in Lang Jin’s gaze.
But at her plea, he relented, shoving He Bai aside instead of killing him.
“Miss, anything you say—I’ll obey.”
Even now, powerful as he had become, before Ruan Tang he was still that silent, loyal dog.
He lowered his head, eyes dropping submissively to her.
But when his gaze fell on her swollen lips, a storm of murderous intent rose within him. He forced it back down—he couldn’t scare her.
Yet Ruan Tang’s eyes brimmed with tears as she tugged his hand.
“Brother Lang Jin, please save Ao Yue. Don’t let Huli Yan kill him.”
Lang Jin froze.
She had always been cold to him.
This was the first time she had spoken to him so intimately… and it was for another man.
“Alright.”
He masked the darkness in his eyes and agreed softly.
“Miss, please wait outside for me.”
Not trusting He Bai either, Lang Jin dragged him back into the cave before vanishing inside.
Moments later, the sounds of fighting ceased. Silence.
“Miss, you may come in now.”
Ruan Tang’s heart thudded uneasily, but she forced herself inside—only to stop short.
Ao Yue and Huli Yan were sprawled across the ground, bloodied. He Bai, though uninjured, was pale and weak, pinned down by some kind of spell. None of them could move or speak, only glare at Lang Jin with blood-red eyes.
Something was wrong.
“What… what happened to them?”
Lang Jin beckoned her closer.
“Miss, come here and I’ll tell you.”
He smiled faintly, but the black mist swirling faintly around him made the sight unnerving, almost sinister.
Ruan Tang hesitated.
His smile vanished, replaced by an obsessive, crazed gleam.
“You won’t come to me? No matter. I’ll come to you.”
In a sudden lunge, his strong arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her hard into his chest.
Then, before the eyes of his three immobilized rivals, Lang Jin bent down and kissed her deeply.
It was his first kiss.
Yet instinct alone carried him, making Ruan Tang’s legs go weak, her body trembling as her face flushed crimson. Her lips tingled, heat spreading as tears gathered in her eyes.
How could he… be so good at this?
The three men on the ground could only watch, eyes blazing scarlet, filled with murderous fury.
But somehow, after vanishing for just a few days, Lang Jin had grown so powerful they couldn’t match him.
When the long kiss finally ended, Lang Jin’s breath was hot and uneven. His gaze landed on her tear-bright eyes, and a sharp ache stabbed through his chest.
“You hate my kiss so much? Who would you rather it be?”
“Him? Or him? Or him?”
His voice lowered into madness.
“No matter. I’ll just kill them all. Then you’ll be mine.”
