- Chapter 212 - The Possessors Collide
He forced himself to stay awake the whole night.
A slender, pale hand reached over, gently smoothing down the strand of hair sticking up as he slept.
Ruan Tang gave him a sweet smile, her voice soft and sugary.
“A-Yang, you don’t have class this morning, right? Catch up on some sleep.”
Chi Yang stared blankly at the delicate face so close to his own.
His heart thumped like a trapped deer crashing against his ribcage.
He pressed a hand against his chest, trying to force it still.
What the hell was that about?! The person in front of him was a guy! A guy! He was straight—he wasn’t going to bend!!!
Chi Han leaned over, seizing the hand Ruan Tang had just used to touch someone else’s hair and placing it atop his own head instead.
Like a puppy, he rubbed her palm and whined softly.
“Tangtang, I didn’t sleep either… I kept thinking about you all night.”
Ruan Tang looked at Chi Han. His bangs were too long, covering his eyes.
She lifted them aside with her other hand, leaning closer to get a better look.
Chi Han went stiff, his entire body locking up.
The sudden closeness of her face made his breath stop.
Ruan Tang lingered just inches from him, her peach blossom eyes shimmering as she blinked.
“It’s true, you’ve got faint dark circles too. That’s no good. You need proper rest!”
Chi Han’s Adam’s apple bobbed hard.
His big hand slid to the back of her neck, about to pull her in for a kiss—
—when Chi Yang cut him off.
Chi Yang yanked Ruan Tang away, his face dark as he scolded her.
“Why are you leaning so close to him?! He’s a pervert! Stay away from him!”
Chi Han grabbed her other hand in protest, his tone full of threat.
“You’re the pervert. Want me to tell Tangtang what I saw yesterday?”
“You dare—”
“Why wouldn’t I?! At least I’m open about it. I admit what I am. Unlike you—saying no with your mouth while your body screams yes!”
“Since when do perverts get to be so righteous?!”
“Even if I’m a pervert, I’m only a pervert for Tangtang!”
“You—”
Their argument spiraled into a heated clash—
Until a sharp click sounded from the door.
The room fell silent as it swung open.
A man in a white shirt stood there, his face expressionless, but the air instantly chilled several degrees.
Ruan Tang, caught between two tall, muscular, devastatingly handsome men, looked small and pitiful.
Both men were red-eyed with jealousy, one clutching her left arm, the other her right, locked in a tug-of-war over who owned this “little boy.”
For the first time, Yan Qing felt his composure fraying.
He had only come because he’d happened to see the dorm assignment list—Ruan Tang had been placed in Chi Yang’s dorm. He’d rushed over immediately.
But the scene before him was far worse than expected.
He wanted to punch both of them.
Instead, he swallowed it down, his expression growing icier.
“No one heard me knocking? Quite the lively scene in here.”
Ruan Tang’s eyes widened, startled.
“Yan Qing? What are you doing here?”
Yan Qing glanced at her.
The sharp planes of his face carried, unexpectedly, a trace of wounded grievance.
“I came to see Chi Yang. Something I need to discuss.”
He strode inside, long legs cutting across the room. His frosty gaze fell first on Chi Yang.
Chi Yang, guilty as hell, let go of her hand.
Yan Qing immediately took Ruan Tang’s small, pale hand, tugging her firmly into his arms.
His grip locked around her slender waist, his voice low and possessive as he warned Chi Han:
“Let go.”
This was the second time the two had squared off.
The first was in the student council office—separated by glass, their eyes had clashed from a distance.
Now, face to face, the tension was far heavier.
Yan Qing didn’t understand why Ruan Tang no longer seemed afraid of this man.
What he did understand was simple: he didn’t want anyone touching her.
Chi Han’s gaze zeroed in on Yan Qing’s hand around her waist, his eyes going blood-red in an instant.
“No.”
He yanked hard, trying to pull Ruan Tang into his own arms.
But she wriggled free from Yan Qing first.
She backed away, fear flashing in her eyes—as if Yan Qing were some deadly beast.
Which, in her mind, he truly was.
She couldn’t let the storyline collapse any further. She had to stay away from the male lead.
Yan Qing looked at her recoiling from him like he was poison. His chest felt as if a blade had carved straight through it.
His voice came hoarse.
“Tangtang, I was wrong before. I’m sorry.”
He meant the student council incident—when he had forced a kiss on her.
The reminder made Ruan Tang’s cheeks flush scarlet.
Chi Han immediately noticed, frowning.
“Tangtang, what did he do to you before?”
Ruan Tang bit her lip and said nothing.
Chi Yang, eavesdropping guiltily, suddenly sensed something off.
He had thought she and Yan Qing were willing, only kept apart by gender.
But judging by this… that wasn’t the case?
Fury surged. He jumped down from his bunk, seizing Yan Qing by the collar.
“Hey—did you force her back then? You two weren’t even together?!”
“Force?”
Chi Han’s eyes narrowed dangerously, his stare at Yan Qing frigid enough to kill. One could almost hear him calculating methods of murder.
The suffocating tension made Ruan Tang panic. Her cheeks burned.
“I—I have class soon, I’m leaving!!”
“Tangtang!”
Yan Qing reached for her, but she recoiled, shrinking back in fear. His hand stilled mid-air.
It felt like a dagger plunging straight into his chest.
Ruan Tang, seeing his expression, softened slightly, choosing her words carefully.
“Yan Qing, didn’t you come to see Chi Yang? You two talk. I’m really about to be late—I’ll go first!”
She turned and ran.
“Tangtang! I’ll come too!”
Chi Han shot the other two a venomous glare before storming after her.
The room fell awkwardly quiet, only Chi Yang and Yan Qing remaining.
“What do you want with me?”
Chi Yang sprawled onto the sofa, one long leg propped carelessly on the coffee table, smirking coldly.
There was mockery in that smile, like he was relishing Yan Qing’s humiliation.
Yan Qing frowned, pulling a keyring from his pocket and tossing it at him.
“The villa on Chunhua Road. It’s yours.”
Chi Yang’s smirk froze. He stared, incredulous.
“Are you insane??? Do I look like I need your villa?”
Yan Qing’s cold, aloof face was unreadable.
“I’m not negotiating.”
Chi Yang shuddered, skin crawling, then narrowed his eyes.
“So there’s another condition.”
Yan Qing inclined his head slightly, eyes as sharp as blades.
“Tomorrow. You move out of here.”
“Ha!”
Chi Yang let out a bark of laughter, like he’d just heard the funniest joke in the world.
“So the mighty student council president has this much power? Forcing people to change dorms?”
“I’ll say it again—I’m not negotiating.”
Standing with the light behind him, Yan Qing’s features were shadowed, unreadable.
“If you don’t want your racing hobby exposed to your father, then by all means—stay.”
Chi Yang’s grin vanished.
He was a racing enthusiast, had even competed professionally and won. But his father wanted him to take over the family business, forbidding such “wasteful” distractions.
If his father found out, he’d probably ship him abroad to study by force.
Before, he wouldn’t have cared. Let them send him.
But now…
Now the thought of leaving here, of never seeing Ruan Tang again—
That terrified him.
The realization stunned him to his core.
Why was he afraid of losing sight of that boy?
