- Chapter 230 - The Pro Player Who Tricks Newbies in the Infinite Survival Game 3 If You Touch Her Again, You Die.
Soft red lips brushed against her cheek—light and fleeting. Su Ci froze for a moment, the velvety sensation lingering long after the kiss.
A rich, heady fragrance clung to the air, the soft waves of curling hair brushing her face like invisible hooks that slipped into her nose and rushed straight to her brain and lungs.
Li Song was like a glass of intoxicating liquor—fiercely passionate, sweet and smooth, addictive from the first sip. Potent, alluring, and dangerous.
Out of the corner of her eye, Su Ci glanced at Ling Su.
The boy sat in the chair, arms crossed, one long leg draped lazily over the other, his whole posture radiating indifference. He didn’t seem the least bit concerned about what the other players were doing—nor did he care that she had teamed up with Li Song.
“Susu, sweetheart, why are you looking at him? Isn’t your sister prettier than him?” Li Song huffed and leaned in even closer, hooking her arm around Su Ci’s as they walked toward the eastern side chamber. “Anything good I find, I’ll give it to you. How’s that?”
“We’ve got two whole hours. Let’s go take a walk—tomb raiding is actually really fun. See which coffin catches your eye, and that’s the one we’ll open later.”
Li Song’s whole body was practically pressed against Su Ci’s back. She was tall, curvy, and frankly overwhelming. Su Ci wasn’t sure how to react.
If they were close friends, this level of intimacy wouldn’t have been that strange. But the problem was… neither of them were exactly normal.
One was a twisted psycho with a very specific kink.
The other? An overenthusiastic flirt who came on strong.
Su Ci’s ears—and the arm Li Song was clutching—were burning up. The sweet torment made her squirm inside. She looked up and smiled, her eyes curving into crescents.
“…Okay. I’ll listen to whatever you say, sis.”
Not far behind them, Ling Su watched their retreating silhouettes, their heads almost touching like lovers whispering in the dark. His eyes narrowed slightly, and he began tapping his knuckles lazily on the table.
Crash—
A set of fragile bone-china tea cups shattered to the floor, porcelain shards flying everywhere. It was as if the unruly tomb raiders had angered the ghostly spirits hovering above. The ones on the ceiling started swirling even faster, their movements more violent and terrifying.
Aside from Ling Su, Li Song was the highest-ranked veteran player in the group. When she led Su Ci away, the rest of the players silently followed at a distance.
In previous dungeons, this would’ve just seemed like grouping up for safety—or tagging along for an easy win.
But this time, what they were all thinking was—
We have to protect Li Song and the gorgeous newbie.
Sensing the heated stares behind her, Li Song turned around with a scowl. “Scram or die.”
Complete 180 from the sweet persona she showed Su Ci.
She became a fierce, dominant queen, her single glare enough to scatter the old-timers.
The rest didn’t dare go off alone either and quickly formed teams—especially with players of the opposite sex.
Because of that hidden rule for the “Beauty” role.
If the dungeon’s backstory was a tragic love story, and the beauty showed mercy to those who were truly in love… then having a romantic relationship might be a built-in survival mechanic.
The veteran players teamed up fast, and even among the newbies, two couples had already paired off. Wei Xinlian didn’t want to act alone either, but she had a lot of worries.
To the experienced players, she was just a burden—no one would willingly team with her.
And if she picked another newbie, what if they ended up being totally useless? Most importantly…
“Hi there, I’m Zhao Kai. I’ve cleared two dungeons before. Want to open a coffin together? I’m an athlete—I can protect you.”
A sunny, handsome guy offered politely.
Wei Xinlian’s heart skipped a beat. Her expression tensed, and before answering, she glanced nervously toward Ling Su.
He was still sitting there calmly, eyes closed, seemingly dozing off amidst the shattered porcelain around his feet.
No reaction.
Wei Xinlian gritted her teeth and gave a cold reply: “No thanks. Find someone else.”
Zhao Kai wasn’t offended. He turned away and quickly found another girl to team up with.
Watching how naturally he left, Wei Xinlian began to second-guess herself. Wait… was he not one of Ling Su’s puppets in disguise?
Whatever! Even if he wasn’t, I’d rather be wrong than risk being played again. That twisted freak Ling Su is too cunning—I’m not falling into his trap this time.
Soon, everyone scattered to explore the side chambers. Only Wei Xinlian and Ling Su remained in the main hall. With no other choice, she braced herself and headed out.
Her talent was pitifully weak—she could only vaguely sense whether an item was good or bad, and it had a 24-hour cooldown. Unlike Ling Su, who had a literal cheat code: he could control multiple puppets at once.
In her past life, she only discovered Ling Su’s overpowered ability near the end of the game—besides herself, all four of the “maids” were his puppets.
He already had more than enough points to clear the dungeon, but he still refused to sacrifice his puppets to give other players a chance at survival.
Four puppets—that was four real, living people. He had that kind of power and didn’t help anyone else pass?
She’d ranked second in points. Technically enough to survive. But to save more people, she had attacked Ling Su’s puppets… and perished with them.
She never did find out if Ling Su died in the end.
Now, just thinking about being in the same faction as Ling Su again made her stomach churn. He was probably hoarding a bunch of survival slots all for himself.
Su Ci and Li Song wandered through the tomb.
There were eight side chambers, each filled with lavish burial goods prepared by the nobleman for his beloved beauty.
Wooden furniture, decorative vessels, gold and silver treasures, fine silks and fabrics, cosmetics, daily items, medicinal herbs, spices, calligraphy, books, and weapons—everything imaginable.
Each side chamber had ten smaller rooms. Twisting corridors like a maze. Ten coffins per room. Including the main hall, there were 900 coffins total.
“Didn’t think the nobleman was such a hopeless romantic.”
Li Song and Su Ci stopped in one of the side rooms. Sheer fabric hung around them, creating a misty, ethereal atmosphere. Shadows flickered in the candlelight like restless spirits.
Clutching her heaving chest, Li Song seemed “scared” and clung tightly to Su Ci.
“Susu sweetheart, let’s open one together, okay?”
Each tomb raider was required to open one coffin per round. Su Ci nodded. “Alright.”
The game had only just begun. Most of the rules were still unknown, so everyone was being cautious about opening coffins.
Li Song wore a playful “I’m scared, protect me” expression, but her actions were swift and confident as she picked one.
“I’ll open this one. If there’s something good inside, we’ll change rooms. If it’s something nasty, you open yours in this one. Deal?”
The odds of all six Beauties and Maids being in the same chamber were slim.
Su Ci reached out and gently squeezed Li Song’s left hand.
“Good luck, sis. I believe in you.”
Li Song gave her hand a squeeze in return before letting go. Her beautifully manicured fingers touched the coffin lid.
“Susu baby, stand back a little.”
No one knew what horrors might be inside. It wouldn’t be good if Su Ci got hurt.
Even though Su Ci had read ahead in the storyline, she still felt nervous. Ling Su’s earlier decision had already set off a butterfly effect—nothing was certain anymore.
Creak—
The coffin opened.
Inside was an ornate gown. Nothing else.
Used coffins vanished without a trace. Even the dress disappeared—no sign it had ever existed.
Just a regular coffin, it seemed.
Li Song’s score went up by 10 points.
She smiled. “Looks like I’ve got good luck. Want me to pick one for you too?”
Su Ci, ever indecisive, happily agreed. Playing the role of a pretty face who did nothing but cheer others on was honestly… kind of nice.
This time, Li Song was more careful, scanning for a while before settling on a coffin in the corner.
It looked no different from the others—but as Su Ci got closer, a strong hunch hit her. There was definitely something inside.
The flickering candles, the dried blood on the floor, the occasional howling wind…
In an environment like this, any gut feeling could easily mean something sinister.
Li Song wrapped her arms around Su Ci’s waist from behind.
Her smoky voice brushed past Su Ci’s ear.
“I’m right here. Don’t be scared.”
Su Ci took a deep breath. Honestly, she felt like Li Song behind her was scarier than whatever was in the coffin.
Those snowy arms circled her waist, and Li Song’s hands slid forward, resting gently over hers, guiding them to the coffin lid.
Thick, black mist seeped out from within, curling around their fingers.
The sharp red nails on Li Song’s hand made hers look extra small and delicate—like they could slice open a throat with no effort at all.
Her warm breath ghosted across Su Ci’s cheek.
Then, together, they pushed the lid open—
