Rebirth System: Learning makes me happy - Chapter 56 Sample Book
Jiang Nian and the others escorted Su Qingqing to the school gate, glancing teasingly at the car waiting there. Su Qingqing, arm in arm with Jiang Nian and Zheng Yinqiu, pretended to run towards the car.
Startled, the two quickly begged for mercy, “Qingqing, Qingqing, we were wrong.”
Su Qingqing proudly raised her chin, “What were you wrong about?”
Jiang Nian and Zheng Yinqiu exchanged a glance, then turned and darted behind Zheng Boqiu to hide. Zheng Yinqiu clung to one of Zheng Boqiu’s shoulders, peeking out and laughing, “Our mistake was not calling you ‘Auntie’ in front of your uncle.”
Jiang Nian, caught up in the fun, forgot to keep her distance and, mimicking Zheng Yinqiu, clung to Zheng Boqiu’s other side, “Our mistake was not calling Yu Xingye ‘Brother-in-law’ directly yesterday.”
Zheng Boqiu stiffened, a blush spreading across his healthy wheat-colored face, the blush gradually widening.
Su Qingqing stared at Jiang Nian’s hand on Zheng Boqiu’s shoulder and smiled meaningfully.
Jiang Nian, feeling stung by Su Qingqing’s gaze, immediately withdrew her hand, blushing and turning away, not daring to utter another sound.
Su Qingqing, looking at the oblivious Zheng Yinqiu, called out sympathetically, “Xiao Qiu, do you feel a little awkward?”
Zheng Yinqiu turned to look at the flushed Jiang Nian and her brother, who was grinning foolishly. Her smile froze on her face; she felt incredibly “dazzling” at that moment.
Su Qingqing, kindly refraining from further provoking her, waved goodbye to them and walked briskly towards Yu Xingye’s private black van. She
had just gotten into the car when she received a call from Li Yun.
“Hello, Sister Li,”
Li Yun said excitedly on the other end of the line.
“Ms. Su, your four sample copies are ready. If you’re satisfied, we can arrange for distribution tomorrow. When would be a convenient time for me to deliver them to you?”
“Please deliver them to Yu Xingye. I’ll be there shortly.”
Li Yun tensed instantly upon hearing the big boss’s name, pausing before replying, “Okay, I’ll deliver them right away.”
After hanging up, the car returned to silence.
Su Qingqing and the others had discussed cover layout and other issues during their holiday. Jiang Nian even secluded herself for several days to complete the four covers on the last day. Each of these four books was not only her hard work but also the result of everyone’s painstaking efforts.
Su Qingqing thought about many things, yet it seemed like she thought about nothing at all. She didn’t feel nervous or worried; her thoughts were so complex she didn’t know how to describe them.
Only when she got closer to the reception room and faintly heard Yu Xingye’s cold yet extremely authoritative voice did her thoughts gradually calm down.
Su Qingqing stopped Assistant Chen from knocking on the door. She leaned against the wall, listening to Yu Xingye’s occasional voices.
When did it start?
When did Yu Xingye begin to unconsciously soften his voice, become increasingly fond of smiling, act coquettishly towards her, playfully tease her, indulge in her childishness, and use every means to seduce her when he was with her?
But Yu Xingye was inherently an extremely arrogant and willful person. He loved extreme sports, loved all challenges, and possessed ambitions beyond the ordinary.
His family background, his abilities, and the power he wielded gave him the right to look down on anyone.
He was not a gentle person.
On the contrary, Su Qingqing could sense the aggression, possessiveness, and greed in his bones.
Report complete.
Yu Xingye glanced at the time, his brows furrowed slightly, and got up to go out and wait for Su Qingqing. But as soon as he opened the door, he saw his beloved treasure.
Su Qingqing looked at the fleeting, chilling love in Yu Xingye’s eyes and realized clearly that she had been unconsciously suppressing his true nature all along.
But love is not taming; she didn’t want to smooth out his sharp claws.
Yu Xingye, both radiating danger and cloaked in a harmless facade, captivated her deeply.
Yu Xingye stepped forward and embraced her, softly asking, “Why are you standing outside?”
Su Qingqing, enjoying his favoritism, smiled, her eyes narrowing, “The big boss is so handsome when he scolds people.”
Yu Xingye chuckled, “Baby, I can’t bring myself to scold you.”
Hearing that word, Su Qingqing’s thoughts immediately wandered: ‘But where else could I bring
myself to scold me?’ Su Qingqing quickly pulled her wandering thoughts back, leading Yu Xingye into the office.
“Xingxing, Li Yun will be delivering sample books soon.” Yu Xingye
hummed in agreement, glancing at Assistant Chen.
Assistant Chen, who had been busy enjoying a sweet moment, instantly reverted to the trustworthy chief assistant after being swept by the cold gaze.
“Yes, Miss Su, I’ll arrange it right away.”
He nodded to the two of them and took his leave.
Su Qingqing watched the door close, then pressed Yu Xingye into a chair, while she herself sat at the desk.
Afraid she’d get cold, Yu Xingye quickly placed a blanket on the table before she could sit down.
Sitting on the table, Su Qingqing could only meet Yu Xingye’s gaze at eye level; she couldn’t quite manage the condescending lecture she’d imagined that morning.
Yu Xingye suppressed a laugh, looking at her and feigning weakness before angering her.
“Baby, I was wrong.”
“Wrong about what?”
Su Qingqing couldn’t help but laugh too, looking into Yu Xingye’s smiling eyes.
Yu Xingye kissed her: “Next time there are any marks, I’ll definitely tell you first.”
Su Qingqing wasn’t going to let him off so easily.
Su Qingqing reached out and loosened the tie he’d helped her tie that morning, slowly unbuttoning his shirt, deliberately rubbing her face against his Adam’s apple and neck.
Until she saw his eyes darken and his breathing become heavier, Su Qingqing lowered her head and bit his neck hard.
(Note: This chapter continues; please click the next page to continue reading for more exciting content!) Before he could even reach out, Su Qingqing bit down on his Adam’s apple again.
Yu Xingye licked his itchy canine teeth, his voice low and husky:
“Baby, so light, the marks will disappear in a moment.”
He coaxed Su Qingqing to increase the pressure: “Don’t you want anyone to see the marks you gave me?”
Su Qingqing subconsciously tightened her grip, only snapping back to reality when she heard Yu Xingye hiss softly.
Luckily, she hadn’t broken the skin. Su Qingqing glanced at him helplessly: “What if I really broke it?”
Yu Xingye smiled and kissed her: “So what if it breaks?”
Just then, Assistant Chen knocked on the door: “Miss Su, Li Yun has arrived.”
“Okay, just a moment.”
Su Qingqing finished speaking and glanced at Yu Xingye, whose shirt was wide open and whose neck was covered in teeth marks. He was lounging lazily in his chair, chin in hand, smiling at her.
Su Qingqing didn’t want anyone to see that alluring look.
“You stay here obediently and don’t go out, understand?”
Yu Xingye nodded obediently. Su Qingqing kissed him with satisfaction, and then went out to discuss things with Li Yun.
Closing the office door, Su Qingqing picked up the sample book and examined it with a businesslike air.
As she flipped through the pages, the initial excitement ignited by Yu Xingye slowly dissipated, replaced by a surge of complex emotions.
But gradually, as she finished each book, those turbulent emotions seemed to find an outlet, leaving only tranquility and peace.
She had expected to feel excited and thrilled upon seeing the sample book—this was the most important step in realizing her dream.
But she only felt calm.
Of course, this was something she had painstakingly crafted, and it was only right that it would be appreciated.
Seeing Su Qingqing’s composed demeanor, Li Yun began to value her even more.
Talent, hard work, and composure—Su Qingqing possessed it all. Even without Yu Xingye, she could have reached the pinnacle and been admired by countless people.
