Chapter 162: Elven Magic
“Deep Blue, assess the enhancements from the elven bloodline.”
“Spirit Power +5.3, gained talent: Advanced Magical Affinity.”
“Advanced Magical Affinity: You possess an innate high magical aptitude, making spell mastery instinctive.”
Helag stroked his chin. “Finally, a bloodline that boosts spirit power. My aptitude should be much improved.”
He closed his eyes, meditating with the Starry Meditation Method, finding his speed more than doubled.
This was without the advanced version of the Starry Potion. With it, his meditation speed could increase even more.
“If I retested my aptitude now, I wonder what score I’d get?”
Previously, Helag scored seventy-five. He felt he might now reach over ninety, possibly even a perfect score.
Helag felt like he had a new engine—not only was his meditation faster, but his spellcasting and comprehension had also improved significantly.
Absorbing the royal elf bloodline had turned him into a wizard prodigy.
“I might be able to specialize in all elements now…”
Originally, Helag specialized in dark energy, excelling in its spells.
His casting speed and spell strength for dark energy were greatly enhanced.
However, after absorbing the royal elf bloodline, Helag felt a high affinity with wind, fire, plant, and light energy particles.
Suddenly, Helag felt warmth in his chest.
Looking down, he saw changes in the Primordial Thunder God bloodline mark, with added intricate patterns.
“This is…”
Helag sensed the bloodline mark had absorbed new elements, having just absorbed the elven bloodline.
It seemed a new bloodline mark was forming, but it was absorbed and fused by the Primordial Thunder God mark.
He wasn’t sure what changes this would bring, as he hadn’t activated the bloodline mark’s power yet.
Returning to his room, Shatia stared at him, stunned.
Helag felt familiar to her, like seeing a fellow elf.
“Teach me some elven magic,” Helag said, not explaining his changes.
Shatia hesitated, then said, “Humans struggle with elven magic; it requires an elven bloodline.”
Elven spells typically need an elven bloodline. Even with the spell model, humans can’t cast them properly.
“Don’t worry about that. Just teach me,” Helag instructed.
Shatia said, “Alright, I’ll teach you the ‘All Things Have Spirits’ spell. It lets you communicate with animals and plants to gather information.”
“Plants too?” Helag asked, surprised.
“Of course. They can’t speak, but you can learn about events around them through this spell,” Shatia explained.
Helag found the spell practical for intelligence gathering.
Shatia gathered energy particles, drawing a spell model, and began explaining.
Helag marveled at her effortless control of energy particles, a testament to elves as natural spellcasters.
The spell model wasn’t complex, akin to a basic zero-level spell.
Helag noticed a verification structure in the spell model.
This structure checked the bloodline, allowing the spell to proceed only with the correct bloodline, tapping into hidden bloodline powers for casting.
After Shatia’s explanation, Helag closed his eyes, constructing the ‘All Things Have Spirits’ spell model.
He completed it without Deep Blue’s help, taking less than half an hour.
Helag approached a potted plant, casting the spell.
His mind filled with images from the past few hours, seeing Shatia cleaning and reading in the room.
He estimated it showed two to three hours of events.
Understanding his actions, Shatia explained, “This plant only retains short memories. In the Elven Plane, plants can record much longer.”
Helag nodded, “Teach me more elven spells.”
***
Hours later, Shatia watched Helag surrounded by wind, puzzled by his ease with elven magic.
Helag learned minor spells, none directly boosting combat power.
Shatia, being young at just over a hundred years, hadn’t learned powerful elven magic to teach Helag.
Helag grew curious about the Elven Plane, wondering about its nature. He asked, “Shatia, tell me about your homeland. What’s it like, and how did you end up here?”
Shatia thought for a moment, then said, “The Elven Plane is a beautiful place.”
“Our world revolves around the World Tree, with its branches spreading globally, sprouting smaller World Trees from its branches.”
“We elves live beneath these World Trees, thriving there. Royal elves reside under the oldest World Tree, the Elven Plane’s center, where I grew up.”
“The World Tree is vital to the Elven Plane and our faith.”
“One day, I heard of a remote tribe’s World Tree wilting. As a princess, I felt responsible and went to investigate.”
“Unexpectedly, a group of humans arrived days later, slaughtering my people. They killed all who resisted and caged the attractive elves, regardless of gender.”
“I was caged with the tribe’s elf maidens.”
“They knew my identity but didn’t betray me, so the humans saw me as an ordinary elf maiden.”
