Six Ring Wizard - Chapter 321
Chapter 321: Potion Merchant
Since advancing to the liquefied wizard stage, the advanced version of the Starry Potion had little effect on Helag, with negligible improvements in meditation efficiency.
Upon arriving in the Land of Dawn, Helag hadn’t had time to research this further.
Now, with Deep Blue having absorbed ample data, developing a potion to accelerate meditation shouldn’t be an issue.
“Deep Blue, begin simulating a potion to speed up my meditation,” Helag instructed.
“Task logged. Estimated time: 9 hours. Estimated mana consumption: 12%.”
The process was relatively quick, with minimal mana use.
Helag continued studying the first-level spell models while waiting for Deep Blue’s simulation to complete.
Nine hours later.
“Potion simulation complete. Formula as follows: 13 grams of nightshade root powder, 16 grams of golden wax leaves, ten drops of mist grass juice…”
After reviewing the formula, Helag found the potion ingredients, though pricey, were common and easy to acquire.
However, the cost…
Helag estimated the potion ingredients would cost around 350 magic stones.
This was high even for a first-level potion.
Helag planned to use this potion for future meditation, which would be a significant expense over time.
He had thought his fifteen thousand magic stones made him wealthy, enough to last a while.
But the cost of using the wizard tower’s meditation chamber was already burdensome, let alone brewing potions for meditation.
Being a wizard required immense resources; without them, progress was limited.
Buying potion ingredients was simple; Silvermoon City had many potion shops.
But Helag didn’t rush; instead, he contacted Barren.
As a second-level potion master, Barenn might have connections for potion ingredients.
“Mr. Barren, do you have any cheaper potion ingredient sources?” Helag messaged.
Barren didn’t reply immediately, responding half an hour later: “Sorry, I was drinking and missed your message. This is easy; come to the Silver Moon Tavern tomorrow night. I’ll introduce you to a potion merchant. We potion masters are valued customers, with exclusive discounts.”
Potion masters frequently bought ingredients, making them prime customers for merchants.
Offering discounts to potion masters was standard.
Moreover, potion masters had potential and could become business partners.
Thus, many merchants collaborated with potion masters, offering discounts.
The next afternoon, Helag took a carriage to the Silver Moon Tavern.
His last visit was after becoming a wizard array master, when Mr. Israel treated him to their signature Fire Dragon Whiskey.
Barren was a regular, as the tavern was near the wizard array and potion masters’ associations.
At dusk, Helag arrived at the tavern.
It was bustling, with people passing by, though not as crowded as the commercial district.
Helag was about to contact Barren when he spotted him at the bar with a portly middle-aged man.
Noticing Helag’s gaze, Barren turned, smiled, and waved.
The noise made conversation difficult, so they communicated with gestures.
Helag smiled and entered the tavern.
A bunny-suited waitress approached to offer drinks, but Helag waved her off.
Seeing Helag join Barren, she realized he was meeting someone and didn’t interrupt.
“Helag, this is Mr. Vernon, president of the Nightingale Chamber of Commerce. They deal in various businesses, including potions, across the Land of Dawn,” Barren introduced.
“Mr. Vernon,” Helag greeted politely.
Vernon, in his fifties with a large belly, had the sharp eyes of a shrewd businessman.
His gaze was unforgettable.
Vernon glanced at Helag, nodding without much comment.
Barren, a second-level wizard and potion master, had invited Vernon.
Barren had invited him for drinks and to introduce a promising young man.
Vernon didn’t pay much attention to young people; he’d seen many talented youths in the Land of Dawn.
If someone was exceptionally talented, Vernon might invest.
But most didn’t impress him; he was meeting Helag as a courtesy to Barren.
Vernon was used to such socializing.
Seeing Helag, Vernon noted his youth but nothing else stood out.
“Let’s go; I’ve booked a private room,” Barren said, leading the way.
The tavern’s private rooms had soundproof arrays, ensuring quiet away from the noisy main hall.
The hall was packed, filled with clinking glasses, hearty conversations, and laughter.
Following Barren and Vernon, Helag entered the private room, and once the door closed, the world went silent, blocking outside noise.
Once seated, Barren asked, “The usual Silver Moon Red Wine for you?”
Vernon laughed, “Of course, I always order that.”
“And you, Helag?” Barren asked.
“Fire Dragon Whiskey,” Helag decided.
Barren gave a thumbs up, “Great choice! It’s excellent.”
Soon, a bunny-suited waitress brought three large drinks, serving them with a smile.
Barren, unashamedly ogling, grinned lecherously.
The waitress didn’t mind, smiling as she left with her tray.
Barren watched her leave, only turning back when the door closed.
“Interested? Just say the word,” Vernon joked.
Barren shook his head, “I’m just looking. My wife’s strict; I don’t want trouble.”
