Franz’s body burrowed 100 meters deep, stopping.

Numerous vine-like tendrils extended from Franz’s body, reaching the surface.

Helag watched the tendrils, teleporting away as they emerged beneath him.

Thick vines shot skyward, with Franz’s upper body at the end.

His lower body had merged with the vines, leaving only a headless torso.

Helag felt Franz’s head move in his grip, and it turned to face him: “You’ll regret this. You’ve doomed Silvermoon City.”

“What are you planning?” Helag asked.

Franz sneered, “I’ve prepared for this in Silvermoon City. Though it’s early, I have no choice. Once activated, everyone will be sent to the Abyssal Plane as sacrifices.”

“Then, the god will use their flesh and souls to open a path to the wizard plane. Sadly, neither of us will witness this rebirth…”

Franz’s expression grew fanatical, muttering incomprehensible words.

Helag noticed the tendrils spreading rapidly, seemingly aiming to cover Silvermoon City’s underground.

“Where do these tendrils draw power from?” Helag pondered calmly.

Such limitless growth was illogical; there must be a power source.

Observing, Helag focused on Franz’s lower body, now a thick vine.

Deep Blue’s detection revealed a gray orb within the tendrils.

“What is this?”

Helag noted the orb’s strong Abyssal Plane aura.

He realized it was the tendrils’ power source.

Helag retrieved a batch of fire lizard bombs.

He tossed them at the tendrils, detonating them.

Explosions roared, deafening.

After the smoke cleared, Helag saw the tendrils damaged but the orb unharmed.

“Give up. Your attacks can’t harm the Core of the Divine,” Franz scoffed, unconcerned.

“Core of the Divine?” Helag hadn’t encountered or heard of it.

Franz, confident, explained, “The Core of the Divine is a high-energy source, formed by the god. Only Abyssal beings can use it. Only they can see it. Wizards can’t perceive or touch it. Wait, how can you see it?”

Franz realized Helag could see the Core of the Divine.

The core, a unique item, was created by powerful Abyssal beings, containing their power.

To prevent wizard discovery, the Abyssal god cleverly hid it using rule power.

Only high-level cultists like Franz or other Abyssal beings could sense or see it.
