Chapter 370: The Second Ancient Tablet
The tribe revered the tablet as a sacred object, worshiping it during major festivals.
Initially, the tablet was dormant, showing no signs of activity.
But as the tribe faced extinction, the tablet began to tremble, emitting a brilliant light.
The tribe didn’t understand but continued to worship it fervently.
Soon, they gained new power from the tablet, using it to drive away the invading demons and reclaim their land.
The mural ended with the tribe celebrating their victory with singing and dancing before the tablet.
After viewing the mural, Helag realized he’d traveled a long distance.
The mural was extensive, likely taking considerable time to create.
The style and brushwork suggested a single artist.
Helag’s innate spell came from the tablet depicted in the mural, known as the Great Dark Heaven spell.
The tribe used the Great Dark Heaven to become the land’s most powerful tribe, thriving for many years.
Helag wasn’t sure what the demons represented; perhaps other creatures or beings from different planes.
Regardless of their origin, the demons were powerful, forcing the tribe, despite their Great Dark Heaven, to retreat.
This didn’t mean the Great Dark Heaven was weak; its strength depended on the bloodline power absorbed.
Helag was fortunate to absorb the Thunder God’s ancestral bloodline.
The tribe, however, absorbed beast bloodlines, like tigers or mammoths.
These beast powers were limited, sufficient for ruling the land but inadequate against higher powers.
The mural’s simplicity made it hard to gauge the tribe’s power level or the demons’.
The tribe’s era seemed ancient, possibly with different power systems.
Helag pondered the new power the tribe gained from the tablet, which strengthened them significantly.
He glanced at his spatial ring, where the tablet lay dormant.
The tunnel was too narrow to retrieve it, so Helag didn’t attempt to.
For now, the tablet remained unchanged, as before.
Helag suspected the tablet held undiscovered information, possibly missed by Deep Blue.
Alternatively, the tablet might lack the mural’s depicted power, or it required specific triggers.
Helag had Deep Blue record the murals, reviewing them again without finding anything new.
Afterward, he continued, seeking further discoveries.
Beyond the murals, the tunnel widened and heightened.
Helag could now stand upright, no longer needing to crouch.
With ample space, he retrieved the tablet from his ring.
The tablet appeared unchanged, standing silently in the tunnel.
Helag could now read its content without dizziness, unlike his first encounter.
Finding nothing unusual, he returned the tablet to his ring.
He proceeded down the tunnel, which expanded into a vast hall.
Helag’s footsteps echoed in the spacious area, highlighting its emptiness.
Ahead lay a large plaza, with fires burning at each corner.
The fires burned without visible fuel, like wood.
Approaching, Helag felt their warmth, confirming their reality.
The tunnel ended at the plaza; there was no further path.
The plaza resembled the one in Creek Valley’s cave, with similar structure and appearance.
The only difference was the absence of a tablet at the center.
Helag considered retrieving the tablet, wondering if it would trigger something.
At that moment, the tablet in his ring began to tremble.
Noticing the movement, Helag prepared to retrieve it, but the plaza changed.
A phantom tablet appeared, solidifying into a real one.
Cautiously approaching, Helag glanced at the tablet, feeling dizzy.
He realized the tablet’s content was beyond his current comprehension.
A quick glance confirmed this tablet differed from the one in his ring.
Curious about its content, Helag speculated.
The first tablet held the Great Dark Heaven spell; this second tablet likely contained something equally significant.
As a first-level wizard, Helag’s mental power couldn’t grasp the second tablet’s content, suggesting at least second-level spells.
“Deep Blue, scan and record the tablet’s content.”
Unable to read it, Helag instructed Deep Blue to record it.
He suspected the tablet held the new power seen in the mural, used by the tribe to repel demons.
Once Deep Blue finished, Helag planned to store the tablet in his ring, as before.
Unlike last time, there was no need to loosen surrounding soil.
Helag lifted the tablet with ease, placing it in his ring.
