Chapter 444: Sharing
“Sir, this is my…”
Aed led Helag to his small wooden cabin, intending to introduce it, but quickly remembered that Helag couldn’t understand him.
So, he resorted to gestures, using a combination of hand movements, tone, and simple words to convey his meaning.
Helag glanced at the small cabin. It was tidy and spacious enough for one person, but his current size made it impossible to fit inside.
He had no intention of reverting to his human form. Though the Titan form was inconvenient for daily life, it provided a significant level of safety.
Often, it also served as a deterrent, avoiding unnecessary trouble.
Aed realized the same thing—his house couldn’t accommodate someone of Helag’s size.
He was momentarily at a loss. He couldn’t possibly let Helag sleep outside.
Helag surveyed the yard, then with a wave of his hand, he summoned the Wildfire Tent.
The tent’s interior had more than enough space for him to move around comfortably.
Aed was amazed at the sudden appearance of the large tent, not understanding where Helag had brought it from. He assumed it was one of Helag’s many treasures.
He had heard of mysterious artifacts before, but now he was seeing one with his own eyes.
Helag entered the Wildfire Tent to test it and found it perfectly suitable for his needs.
He planned to stay in the town for a while, primarily to learn the local language.
The language barrier was a significant issue, and until it was resolved, everything else would be difficult. It was essential to overcome this first.
During this time, Helag could also familiarize himself with the local customs and observe how people lived, potentially gathering valuable information.
He wasn’t sure if this plane had any presence of the wizard plane’s expedition team.
If they were here, they would likely see wizards as enemies.
This was why Helag refrained from using his Titan power openly. If they realized he was a wizard, his situation would become far more dangerous.
Helag was constantly thinking about how to return to the wizard plane. If the expedition team had members here, it would make things much easier.
Finding a wizard from the expedition team would be his ticket back.
Initially, Helag had been in a hurry to return because of the threat posed by Medel.
But now, it seemed the issue lay with the malfunctioning teleportation rings from Operation Cradle, which had sent them to this plane.
There was a good chance Medel was here as well.
Once Helag realized this, he immediately adjusted his plans.
First, he needed to find Medel and eliminate him.
Killing Medel in this world would carry no consequences, and the Taylor family would never know.
The challenge was figuring out how to locate him.
Helag also planned to take advantage of his Demonic Power ability, absorbing as much demonic aura as possible to strengthen himself.
If he could deal with Medel, he wouldn’t be in a rush to return to the wizard plane.
With so many demons in this world, as long as he was cautious and targeted weaker ones, he could continue to grow stronger.
To Helag, these demons were all potential sources of power, just waiting to be harvested.
Aed, meanwhile, had no envy for Helag’s Wildfire Tent. He simply saw Helag as a powerful exorcist with vast experience and hoped to learn from him.
As dusk fell, the young men who had gone to retrieve the demon’s meat returned.
They had spent the entire afternoon hauling the meat, but with night falling, they had to return and finish the job tomorrow.
However, based on past experience, there likely wouldn’t be much left by then.
The forest was home to many predators and demons, and the demon’s flesh was an irresistible temptation for them.
By morning, the tiger’s carcass would likely be picked clean, leaving only bones.
The demon meat was piled in the town square, where a group of people began processing it.
First, they cut the meat into manageable strips for easier distribution.
Next, they began curing the meat, as there was too much to eat in a short time.
Of course, Aed had asked Helag beforehand if he wanted any of the meat.
Helag waved it off. He couldn’t eat that much, and his spatial ring still held plenty of food.
For the townspeople, the meat was essential for survival, so they needed it far more than he did.
Helag stood at the edge of the square, watching them work.
Aed gestured to him, indicating that once the meat was cured and dried, they would give him some.
Helag nodded but wasn’t particularly concerned.
While the meat could make ordinary people stronger, the benefits to him were negligible.
A bonfire was lit at the edge of the square, and the townspeople—young and old—gathered to sing and dance, celebrating their haul of food.
It was their way of marking the occasion.
By late night, the crowd dispersed, and the demon meat had been processed and distributed to all the town’s residents.
Families with young, able-bodied members received more, while households with only the elderly received less.
No one complained; it had always been this way.
During the bonfire, Helag ate some of the food offered to him—perfectly roasted demon meat, crispy on the outside and tender inside.
The quality of the meat was excellent, making it a top-tier ingredient.
Returning to the Wildfire Tent, Helag began meditating, using the energy from the Divine Core in his bloodline mark to accelerate his meditation.
As he meditated, he pondered a troubling question: what if he reached the limit of his crystallized wizard power and still couldn’t leave this plane?
To become a second-level wizard, he needed two things: a second-level spell and a Key of Rules. He had neither.
Thinking about this, Helag took out the black sphere of Black Space and peered inside.
The white deer was still there, resting, looking somewhat hungry.
Black Space was barren, offering nothing for the deer to eat.
“Could this be considered a Key of Rules?”
The white deer had a natural ability to manipulate spatial rules. Helag wondered if absorbing its bloodline would grant him mastery over spatial rules.
With that thought, Helag decided to act.
He entered Black Space.
The white deer immediately sensed him, its eyes wide with fear. It leaped away, appearing 100 meters distant.
But Black Space was small. No matter how much the deer ran, it couldn’t escape.
