Chapter 449: Demon Armament
Boom!
Helag’s fist collided with the black gorilla’s, creating a gust of wind.
Helag didn’t budge an inch, while the gorilla was forced back a step by the recoil of Helag’s strength.
“Its strength is impressive, but it’s still a bit weaker than mine,” Helag thought, having gauged the gorilla’s power through the direct clash.
The gorilla was indeed powerful, far surpassing an ordinary crystallized wizard.
Aed, watching the scene, was left speechless. He could tell the gorilla was immensely strong and knew Helag was formidable.
But he hadn’t expected Helag to be this strong—able to face a high-tier, strength-based demon head-on. It was beyond what Aed thought was humanly possible.
The gorilla, having been pushed back, looked shocked.
The human in front of it was big, sure, but still just a human.
How could a human be stronger than it?
But there was no time for the gorilla to ponder this, as Aed seized the moment, rushing in with his black sword to strike from the side.
The gorilla, confident in its natural armor, casually raised its left arm to block the attack.
It had fought humans before, and no human weapon had ever pierced its armor. So, it didn’t take this attack seriously.
However, the next moment, a sharp pain shot through its arm.
The gorilla looked down in disbelief. The black sword had pierced straight through its left arm, leaving a deep wound.
Its once-impenetrable armor had been rendered useless.
Aed, having landed the blow, didn’t press the attack. He quickly retreated, knowing better than to get greedy.
A split second later, the gorilla’s massive right fist slammed into the spot where Aed had just been standing.
Had Aed lingered for another strike, he would have been crushed into pulp.
The gorilla, having missed its punch, grew enraged and confused. What was going on with these humans lately?
It stared at Aed’s black sword with fear. This was the first time it had encountered a weapon capable of piercing its armor.
For years, the gorilla had relied on its natural armor for defense.
But now, facing an indestructible black sword, the gorilla couldn’t help but feel fear.
More importantly, it was also up against a human who could match its strength in a direct confrontation.
As a high-tier demon, the gorilla had a certain level of intelligence. It quickly assessed the situation.
The conclusion? Run.
Without hesitation, the gorilla turned and fled.
Helag, seeing the gorilla’s retreat, raised an eyebrow, noticing something odd.
Without saying anything, he gave chase.
This was a prime source of demonic aura, and he wasn’t about to let it get away.
Helag was much faster than the gorilla. While their strength was comparable, Helag’s speed far surpassed the demon’s.
In the blink of an eye, Helag caught up to the gorilla and delivered a powerful punch to its back.
The gorilla let out a howl of pain, losing its balance and tumbling to the ground.
Helag followed up with another punch aimed at the gorilla’s face.
The gorilla reacted quickly, raising its arms to shield its head, blocking the blow.
Its natural armor was indeed tough, absorbing much of the force from Helag’s punch.
But Helag didn’t give the gorilla a chance to recover. He rained down punch after punch, keeping the demon pinned.
Despite its resilience, the gorilla couldn’t get back up under the relentless assault.
It was a tough creature, enduring over twenty punches from Helag without dying.
By this time, Aed had caught up. As Helag pulled back his fist, Aed swung his black sword.
With a swift slash, the gorilla’s head rolled to the ground.
The sharpness of the black sword even surprised Helag.
He suspected that the sword’s sharpness might be tied to some sort of rule-based power.
Aed’s awakened ability was far more complex than it appeared, likely hiding deeper secrets.
However, Aed’s current strength wasn’t enough to fully unlock the sword’s true potential.
A thick, dark mist rose from the gorilla’s corpse. Helag glanced at it and said, “Let’s split it—half for each of us.”
Aed was about to say something, but Helag had already absorbed half of the demonic aura and stopped, allowing the rest to float freely.
Not wanting to waste the aura, Aed absorbed the remaining half.
“Strength +1.9, Agility +1.1, Constitution +1.6.”
After absorbing the demonic aura, Helag checked his stats and was pleased with the results.
High-tier demons were indeed different. Even absorbing half of the aura provided a significant boost.
Aed, after absorbing his half, felt a noticeable change in his aura.
The increase in his power was more apparent, as Helag’s base strength was already so high that the improvement wasn’t as dramatic.
Just then, something strange happened.
The gorilla’s corpse began to emit a black glow, and its body slowly transformed into a ball of dark energy.
The black energy shrank, taking the shape of armor.
Once fully formed, the armor floated in the air and hovered in front of Aed, circling around him.
The next moment, the armor merged into Aed’s body and disappeared.
“This is… demon armament!” Aed exclaimed, stunned by what had just happened.
“Demon armament? What’s that?” Helag asked, equally confused by the sight of a corpse turning into armor.
Aed explained, “Demon armament is a rare phenomenon where, after a powerful demon dies, there’s a very small chance that its body will transform into a weapon, armor, or other items. These items are called demon armaments, and they’re incredibly powerful.”
“But the chances of this happening are extremely low. I’ve only ever heard stories about it.”
Helag asked, “Why did the armor automatically merge with your body?”
Aed replied, “It’s said that demon armaments choose their owner. Unless special methods are used, they can’t be forcibly taken.”
“So, the armor chose you as its owner,” Helag nodded, understanding.
Helag couldn’t help but look at Aed with growing curiosity. The more he observed, the more unusual Aed seemed.
He had exceptional talent, a strong work ethic, good luck, and a unique awakened ability. Could this boy be the plane’s chosen one?
Aed, feeling a bit embarrassed, said, “I didn’t control the demon armament choosing me. I shouldn’t have absorbed the demonic aura earlier. It was mainly thanks to you, Master, that we were able to defeat the demon.”
