- Chapter 43 - Seeing Little Ye's Diary Again
Xu Yuan never could have imagined it, not even in her wildest dreams.
Xia Tian had actually dared to delete her on QQ!
“Aaaaaah!”
“Xia Tian, you jerk! How dare you delete me from your QQ contacts!”
Realizing what had just happened, Xu Yuan flushed with anger, her face turning red.
She immediately sent a friend request to Xia Tian, only to be rejected three times in a row.
Slumping back into her chair, Xu Yuan felt utterly defeated, completely unable to understand why Xia Tian would delete her.
As she stared at Xia Tian’s status message, a sinking feeling crept over her.
“Could it be… his status message wasn’t meant for me after all?”

The next morning, it was still raining heavily. Xia Tian walked to the classroom, wearing Ye Ningyu’s school uniform and carrying the pink umbrella she had given him.
Many students along the way pointed and whispered, clearly noticing how out of place the pink umbrella looked with Xia Tian’s appearance.
“It’s freezing when it rains, damn it… When will summer finally get here?” he muttered to himself as he shivered, sitting at his desk.
Seeing this, Ye Ningyu quietly handed a hand warmer to Xia Tian from under her desk.
“X-Xia Tian, here, warm your hands. Also, here’s your uniform—I washed it for you last night…”
“Oh, thanks,” Xia Tian replied as they swapped uniforms, then handed her the breakfast he had brought.
Ye Ningyu nodded, then quietly slipped a small pink notebook from her desk into her bag.
Out of the corner of his eye, Xia Tian noticed the notebook and felt a jolt run through him.
It’s her diary!
“Wow, I didn’t expect her to bring her diary to school. I wonder if, since my rebirth, the events in her diary have changed at all,” Xia Tian thought to himself, keeping his cool and pretending not to notice anything as he quietly worked on his assignments.
If he could just get another chance to peek at Little Ye’s diary, that would be great.

The first class of the day was Chinese.
Anyone who’s been through high school knows how tough it is to stay awake during the first period of Chinese class on a rainy morning.
By the end of the class, half the students were slumped over their desks, fast asleep.
Especially in the last three rows—only Ye Ningyu remained sitting upright, quietly working on her assignments with her head down.
When the bell for second period rang, Wang Qingshan walked into the classroom, holding the results of the mock exam.
“Alright, class, let’s wake up now!” Wang Qingshan called out. “The results and rankings for the mock exam are in. I’m going to call them out now.”
Upon hearing this, the entire class immediately sat up straight.
Their faces were a mixture of sleepy confusion and shock at Wang Qingshan’s announcement.
“What? The results are out already?”
“Did the grading teachers not sleep at all? We just finished the exam yesterday afternoon, and they already have the results this morning?”
“Damn it, does that mean my parents will give me the ol’ mixed-gender smackdown earlier than expected?”
“I don’t want to hear my grades… Mr. Wang, would you please spare us and just let us check them ourselves? This is too cruel.”
No one in the class expected the mock exam results to come out so quickly.
Wang Qingshan adjusted his glasses and explained, “The grading process for the mock exams is different from our regular monthly tests at school. While you were taking the exam, the grading room was already marking the papers. For instance, after you finished the Chinese exam in the morning and started the math exam in the afternoon, the team was already grading the Chinese papers. That’s why we have the results so quickly… Ahem, now, everyone quiet down while I read the scores and rankings.”
The classroom immediately fell silent, leaving only Wang Qingshan’s voice echoing through the room.
“First place: Ye Ningyu, Chinese: 140, Math: 145, English: 148, Science: 287, Total score: 720, Grade rank: 1st.”
“Second place: Zhang Shiya, Chinese: 130, Math: 141, English: 138, Science: 230, Total score: 639, Grade rank: 5th.”
“Third place: Xu Yuan, Chinese: 123, Math: 130, English: 134, Science: 207, Total score: 594, Grade rank: 32nd.”
…
“Ninth place: Bai Feng, Chinese: 115, Math: 140, English: 128, Science: 172, Total score: 555, Grade rank: 80th.”
“Tenth place… huh? Xia Tian?”
When Wang Qingshan reached the tenth name, he raised an eyebrow, visibly shocked.
How could Xia Tian possibly be ranked in the top ten?
Wang Qingshan pulled his glasses down and double-checked the list several times. When he was sure the name was correct, his expression was one of utter disbelief.
“What the hell! Mr. Wang, did you make a mistake? This is the top ten, not the bottom ten. How could Xia Tian be here?”
“Yeah, Mr. Wang, you should double-check. Don’t mess with us like this—it’s giving me a heart attack.”
“Mr. Wang, you’re hilarious…”
The class burst into chatter, convinced that Wang Qingshan was joking to lighten the tense atmosphere.
But Wang Qingshan squinted and continued reading the results calmly.
“Tenth place: Xia Tian, Chinese: 109, Math: 149, English: 150, Science: 138, Total score: 546, Grade rank: 100th!”
