Chapter 184: Treating Her Like a Predator?
The next morning, Fang Zhou woke up urgently needing to use the restroom and found himself free of restraints.
There were no ropes, no tape, and he felt completely refreshed, as if the events of the previous night had been just a dream.
Fang Zhou scratched his head in confusion, beginning to wonder if he had indeed dreamt it all.
His hands bore no pain from being tied up, instead feeling a clear, refreshing sensation, as if some ointment had been applied.
The pressing need to urinate overtook his thoughts, and he quickly rang the bell for a nurse to help him to the bathroom.
After relieving himself, Fang Zhou returned to bed, finally able to ponder the events of the previous night.
But before he could think much, he heard the sound of high heels clacking in the corridor.
Fang Zhou frowned, thinking: Could Han Xi be back? She said she wouldn’t have time to visit today.
To his surprise, it wasn’t Han Xi who spoke, but Qin Yun.
“I heard you were hospitalized, so I rushed over. I didn’t bring any gifts, just some bananas. Hope you don’t mind,” she said, her voice always gentle, now tinged with a deliberate warmth to hide her darker, obsessive side.
Her presence inexplicably lowered his guard.
Fang Zhou wasn’t one to mind such things, and was surprised enough that Qin Yun visited him at all. She was always so busy with hospital and school duties.
However, in his eyes, her visit was like a weasel paying respects to a chicken—clearly up to no good.
But one can’t refuse a smiling face, and Qin Yun’s courtesy meant Fang Zhou couldn’t drive her away.
If he said something harsh, Qin Yun wouldn’t listen. She had her own logic, and Fang Zhou had never won an argument against her.
“Thank you, that’s very kind of you. But aren’t you very busy?”
Qin Yun sighed softly, a barely noticeable fatigue in her voice.
She seemed genuinely tired from rushing over, even carrying a trace of road dust.
“Yes, I was resting at my family home when I heard you were hospitalized. So I caught the earliest flight.”
“You haven’t had breakfast, right? I’ll get you some porridge.”
Qin Yun’s attentiveness seemed natural, making her look like a genuinely kind person.
But Fang Zhou had long seen through her facade and didn’t want to owe her any favors, fearing she would demand double in return.
He coughed lightly and said, “No need, a nurse will bring it soon. You should have some breakfast yourself.”
In reality, there was no nurse, just hotel staff Han Xi had arranged the day before.
But he didn’t want Qin Yun to know that Han Xi had people looking after him.
He preferred Han Xi’s kindness, as she was much easier to deal with than Qin Yun.
Qin Yun didn’t insist upon hearing that someone else would bring it. Instead, she found a place to sit down.
“Oh, okay. I already ate on the plane, but I’m still tired.”
Her casual attitude made Fang Zhou wonder if she was the one from last night.
Qin Yun claimed to have flown in this morning, and her weary demeanor seemed genuine.
But who else could have entered the hospital so brazenly and done such things to him?
No, Fang Zhou realized he was overthinking it. Nowadays, if you have money, you can do almost anything.
It probably wasn’t Qin Yun after all.
As he pondered in silence, he thought he heard Qin Yun starting to snore.
She must have been too tired from the journey and fell asleep quickly, resting her head against the wall.
But in reality, out of Fang Zhou’s sight, Qin Yun was purposely making snoring sounds.
Her gaze was fixed on Fang Zhou, watching him greedily.
Like a beast that had only half-devoured its prey, longing to finish the rest.
She couldn’t stare directly at his face because Fang Zhou was too sensitive. He had sensed her gaze even in the darkness last night; daytime would be much easier.
Yes, the person who had tied Fang Zhou up and sealed his mouth last night was indeed Qin Yun.
She wasn’t entirely lying about her journey; she had indeed rushed over, arriving in the middle of the night.
Finding Fang Zhou sound asleep, she had felt drowsy too, wanting to share his bed.
But knowing how alert he was, she feared he might wake up and kick her out.
So she had gone to buy ropes and tape, tied him up, and then snuggled in for a nap.
She had woken up before dawn, restored everything to normal, and applied ointment to his wrists.
After all, being tied up could be painful.
Qin Yun thought she was incredibly considerate, even thinking of such details.
However, Fang Zhou was polite to everyone but her, which annoyed her.
She had searched for him for so long, only to be treated like a predator when they finally met on the show, as if she would devour him.
In reality, the worst she would do was tie him up in a room, not letting him out, but never harm him.
Thinking about it, Qin Yun felt wronged. Sometimes, she really wanted to use her scalpel to cut open Fang Zhou’s heart.
To see if it was red or black, or if he even had one.
She treated Fang Zhou with such sincerity, yet received so little in return, not even a smile.
How could that not be hurtful?
The most dangerous thing in the world is knowing how something feels and wanting it again.
If she had never seen Fang Zhou’s gentle and caring side, it would have been fine.
But having experienced it and then losing it, only to watch him treat others well, was torture.
Qin Yun felt no one would want to endure such torment.
She used to think that if she wanted Fang Zhou, she needed not just his body but his heart and soul too.
But now, she felt that if she couldn’t have his heart, having his body would suffice.
Hearts may change, but bodies can’t run away.
