The arrival of Fang Wenjing and Chu Xinran brought a lively energy to the ward.

It also brought a genuine smile to Fang Zhou’s face.

He hadn’t seen his sister for almost half a month and wanted to ask about her condition.

Did she remember her?

Qin Yun looked into her eyes, searching for any sign.

Was it panic or fear? Disgust or resentment? Or perhaps evident hatred?

“Brother, Aunt Wei’s corgi had several puppies. I want to reserve one. Is that okay?”

Fang Wenjing continued talking to Fang Zhou, completely ignoring Qin Yun.

Chu Xinran gave a nod and a smile, showing friendliness even to a rival.

Fang Zhou, meanwhile, nodded while responding to his sister.

“Sure, but you’ll have to wait until after your college entrance exams. Otherwise, you’ll spend all your time with the dog.”

Qin Yun felt a mix of emotions, unable to pinpoint what she felt.

She slowly walked out of the ward, feeling both pressure and relief.

It seemed Fang Wenjing didn’t remember her.

“Do you remember that woman from earlier?”

“I remember her.”

“Two years ago, before I got sick, she came to my school with a photo of you and took me after school.”

“Then she brought me to a room, gave me a drink, and I fell asleep. When I woke up, you were very angry.”

Raising her eyebrows slightly, she added uncertainly.

“Brother, I remember you broke up with her after that.”

“Was it because of me?”

The understanding girl showed a hint of guilt and regret.

If she caused her brother’s breakup, she felt she owed him an apology.

“You’re the best sister in the world.”

Fang Wenjing not remembering was actually a good thing.

“We won’t get back together, silly sister.”

He would never let his sister be in danger again.

He was willing to protect the only blood relative he had left in this world, even with his life.
