Chapter 33: I’m Really Afraid You’ll Ignore Me Again
The girl’s dependent words and actions left Fang Zhou stunned.
Since that night when Chu Xinran had sleepwalked and accidentally found him, it had been a long time since he heard her call him like this.
“I’m really afraid you’ll ignore me again…”
Chu Xinran’s voice was soft, her body tender like fluffy cotton candy, tightly hugging Fang Zhou.
He tried to break free, but it was futile, as it only made Chu Xinran hug him tighter.
“After we broke up, I often dreamt of you, but you were always cold in the dream, leaving me without looking back.”
Her voice turned aggrieved, the tone dropping low as if she had suffered endless grievances.
Fang Zhou’s hand froze on the doorknob, panicking at Chu Xinran’s sudden confession, unsure how to respond.
“Look, I won’t ignore you. Just let go first.”
No matter what, they were exes now, and hugging like this was inappropriate.
“I won’t! You’ll definitely leave as soon as you open the door!”
The once sensible and courteous school beauty, now throwing a tantrum in front of Fang Zhou, would shock anyone who saw it.
Her hands were clasped around Fang Zhou’s waist, her head resting on his back. If not for her dress, Fang Zhou would suspect she would cling to him like an octopus.
The jasmine scent mixed with a faint hint of blood, making his head spin.
Fang Zhou remembered the old Chu Xinran, who would never act this way. She was always measured, courteous, and never put anyone in a difficult position.
Maybe his departure had truly hurt her, making her current behavior understandable.
It was his past actions that had caused this.
Fang Zhou sighed internally, deciding to comfort Chu Xinran, at least to make her feel more secure.
“I promise I won’t leave for now. Let’s talk after you eat, okay?”
The best strategy was to delay.
“Alright.”
Chu Xinran said and actually let go, slowly stepping back from Fang Zhou.
The latter secretly breathed a sigh of relief, about to turn around to call her to eat, when he felt a warm touch on his waist again.
Something was slipping into his white T-shirt, moving upwards.
It was Chu Xinran’s hand!
Realizing this, Fang Zhou was startled, quickly reaching to stop her.
But her hand was more agile, evading his grasp like it had eyes, and landed higher!
In that moment, he felt a sigh from his soul.
Seeing her hand going further, Fang Zhou quickly pressed it down.
“Don’t.”
For some reason, Fang Zhou’s voice trembled unconsciously, losing much of its earlier authority.
Chu Xinran chuckled softly, moving to stand in front of him, looking him in the eye.
“Don’t what?”
She continued talking, her hands not idle.
“Is it this?”
She smiled provocatively, slowly approaching Fang Zhou.
“Or this?”
Fang Zhou, a six-foot man, felt powerless in front of the five-foot-five Chu Xinran.
His breathing became unsteady, his head spinning, almost fainting.
A gust of wind through the window gap cleared Fang Zhou’s mind. He pushed Chu Xinran away.
“That’s enough.”
Fang Zhou’s expression turned serious, stepping back several paces, creating distance.
“Let’s talk properly, don’t come so close.”
“And, we’ve been broken up for a long time. These actions are really inappropriate.”
At that moment, Fang Zhou was like a sage, completely different from the person enjoying it a moment ago.
Chu Xinran quietly withdrew her hand, suppressing her further thoughts, her expression turning aggrieved.
“But you used to like it.”
Fang Zhou stepped back again, blurting out, “When did I ever like it?”
When they dated, it was purely innocent—just kisses and hugs, nothing more. Such intimate actions were never part of it.
Even though he was no longer a young boy, he still wasn’t used to the usually pure Chu Xinran making advances.
This was the school beauty, the purest existence, how could she be doing such things?
“You said you liked it wild…”
Chu Xinran blinked, seemingly confused.
Hearing this, Fang Zhou suddenly felt awkward. Did he say that?
When he broke up, he might have said, “You’re too pure, I like it wild.”
Never had he thought fate’s boomerang would hit him.
“Ahem, I didn’t mean it like that.”
“I just…”
“Just what?”
Fang Zhou paused, unable to continue the topic.
If he said he didn’t like it now, it would prove he had lied back then.
Wasn’t this shooting himself in the foot?
“Hmm?”
Chu Xinran, with her pure face, blinked her big eyes, softly asking.
“Just what?”
Fang Zhou suddenly couldn’t look her in the eye.
“Nothing, nothing. You misunderstood me.”
“I didn’t mean it like that.”
His eyes darted around, finally landing on the meal on the table.
“Why don’t you eat first? It won’t taste good if it gets cold.”
Saying so, he walked to the table, looking at her expectantly.
Chu Xinran stared at Fang Zhou, seeming not to understand his intention.
“Or do you like it even wilder?”
“Well, that’s not impossible.”
Saying so, she moved her hand, seemingly doing something.
Fang Zhou saw a thin, almost transparent mesh thing, his eyes widening.
“You, what are you doing?”
Chu Xinran didn’t answer, just slowly moved her hand to her shoe, then took off her shoe, revealing a smooth, white foot.
!!!!
Fang Zhou seemed to understand her meaning, quickly stepping to the door, turning the knob, and slamming the door shut.
“Take your time eating, nature calls.”
Leaving Chu Xinran alone, with a mocking smile.
Didn’t you say you liked it? Why are you acting like this now?
