Chapter 330: Can’t Have It All, Right?

Eight years had passed since that unforgettable day. When Li Siming brought up the topic of their drinking session, Zhang Zhiyin felt a wave of embarrassment wash over her.

She shot Li Siming a warning glance, silently pleading for him to drop the subject. She felt fortunate that it was Li Siming who knew about her mishap and not some gossip-prone boy. If the incident had spread, she would have been mortified to face Fang Zhou again.

Li Siming chuckled, seemingly having forgotten the incident. But noticing Zhang Zhiyin’s discomfort, he quickly changed the topic. “Hey, does Wenjing know how to play board games?”

Fang Wenjing’s curiosity was piqued. “I’ve seen them online, but I’ve never really played.”

Li Siming’s eyes lit up. “Perfect! Let’s go, I’ll teach you. I’m a pro at these games!”

With that, he led Wenjing towards the board game area, leaving Zhang Zhiyin and Fang Zhou alone on the sofa.

“How’s your injury healing?” Zhang Zhiyin asked, her eyes filled with concern.

She had tried to visit him at the hospital twice but missed him both times. She had only managed to check on him via a quick WeChat call.

Fang Zhou flashed a wide smile, showing his teeth. “It’s healing well. I had the stitches removed yesterday.”

“Did Qin Yun remove them?” Zhang Zhiyin asked, her curiosity getting the better of her.

Fang Zhou was surprised. “Yes, she did. How did you know?”

“There are many people on duty at the hospital, and I just happened to meet Qin Yun both times,” Zhang Zhiyin said evasively.

“What happened to the troublemaker?” she asked, referring to the person who had attacked Fang Zhou.

When the show’s producers had informed her about Fang Zhou’s injury, she had been intensely worried. Learning that a crazed fan of Qiao Sisi had attacked him only fueled her anger.

Fang Zhou updated her on the situation. “The attacker is claiming to be mentally ill, which complicates things.”

“Again with this?” Zhang Zhiyin’s frustration was evident. She slapped Fang Zhou’s thigh in exasperation. “Why do people who do bad things always claim mental illness to avoid punishment? We can’t let this go. He must be held accountable!”

Fang Zhou laughed, moving his leg away slightly. “Absolutely. At the very least, he should spend a few years in prison.”

Han Xi and Qiao Sisi had both reassured Fang Zhou that they had hired top lawyers and urged him not to worry. Fang Zhou was more than happy to leave it to them, occasionally checking in on the progress.

“Given Sisi’s celebrity status, this case has garnered a lot of attention. It won’t be swept under the rug,” Fang Zhou assured her, hoping to ease her mind.

Zhang Zhiyin nodded thoughtfully, her mind wandering. She wondered about Qiao Sisi, the popular actress. What might she do next regarding Fang Zhou? One of her dreams had undoubtedly involved Qiao Sisi, but which one?

As Zhang Zhiyin returned to the present, she asked Fang Zhou another question. “The dating show is about to end. What are your thoughts?”

In the last episode, Fang Zhou had gone on a date with Qin Yun, causing quite a stir online. Their chemistry had won them many fans, who started a dedicated fan page that skyrocketed in popularity, especially after Fang Zhou’s injury.

Many fans speculated, “If Fang Zhou doesn’t end up with Qin Yun, I’ll do a handstand while washing my hair!”

“I bet he’ll end up with her! The older, gentle sister and the younger, gamer brother pairing is the best!”

Of course, there were dissenting opinions as well. “If they get together, I’ll run around naked!”

“I don’t think they’re a match. Looking at the show, Fang Zhou is more likely to end up with Sisi. She was his first love, and he shielded her from harm. They have to get together!”

These prominent comments were hard for Zhang Zhiyin to ignore. She was curious to know Fang Zhou’s true feelings because, from the shows, it seemed like he was good to everyone. The air was thick with unspoken feelings and tension.
