Chapter 34: The Female Guests All Pretended

Fang Zhou returned to his room, still shaken, and threw himself onto the soft bed.

The scenes from earlier kept replaying in his mind, still feeling unbelievable.

“What are you all doing? Why didn’t anyone wake me?”

He asked while descending the stairs, puzzled.

“Well, we figured you all fell into the water, and you saved someone, so you needed rest. We decided to have a barbecue tonight.”

“Everyone helps out, it’s fun, and you get to rest more.”

Dong Donghui then held up the skewers to show him.

“See, we’re preparing the ingredients. Want to try?”

The two girls turned to look at Fang Zhou, each with different expressions.

Qin Yun smiled gently, agreeing, “If you don’t want to get your hands dirty, you can help with grilling outside.”

“They should have the fire ready soon.”

She always handled situations well, making her seem like a gentle, knowledgeable big sister.

Fang Zhou’s eyes dimmed a bit, replying softly, “I see, thanks for considering me. I’ll go help outside.”

“The canopy can be taken out and set up for nice photos.”

The usually quiet Han Xi unexpectedly spoke up.

Fang Zhou followed her gaze and saw a canopy in the corner.

“Alright, I’ll set it up outside.”

He nodded, picked up the tools, and headed out the door.

About a hundred meters from the villa, he saw his busy companions.

Fang Zhou quickened his pace, spotting Sun Haotian and others tending the fire.

“Cough cough, finally got the fire going, it wasn’t easy.”

Tang Wan stood aside, coughing from the smoke, retreating while glancing at Fang Zhou and greeting him.

“Fang Zhou! You’re finally awake!”

The sweet girl’s voice sounded like a melodious lark, lifting everyone’s spirits.

Placing his items on the sand, Fang Zhou greeted everyone and got to work.

Setting up the canopy wasn’t difficult if you knew how, but it needed multiple people.

“Everyone, give me a hand!”

Fang Zhou called a few idle people over, each holding a corner, threading the ropes, and finally hammering the tools into the sand to secure it.

With two iron rods in the middle, it was complete.

“Great, let’s move the tables and chairs inside, and it’ll be perfect!”

Qi Le and Fang Zhou moved everything inside, leaving one by the grill.

“Excellent, everything’s ready except the final touch!”

Sun Haotian was eager to start grilling.

When Qin Yun and the others brought out the skewered ingredients, the barbecue began.

Sun Haotian was an expert, making tastier food than the average person.

Fang Zhou volunteered to grill a few skewers but ended up burning them, drawing laughter from everyone.
