The Command to Pamper the Husband - Chapter 194
The village chief had already entered the courtyard, smiling as he called to Song Jin and the Crown Prince.
“Come in quickly, Old Chen will be very happy to see you.”
These words were truly strange.
Old Chen’s daughter Cui Liang had died. Seeing this fiancé, who wasn’t even officially engaged, what joy could that bring?
“Everyone, be careful. This village chief is not simple,” the Heavenly Hound warned Song Jin and the Crown Prince.
Young Madam Xu stood uneasily at the door, hesitating for a moment. “Please, please come in.”
Song Jin and the Crown Prince exchanged a glance and stepped into the courtyard.
The courtyard wasn’t large and was quite messy, indicating that it hadn’t been lived in for a long time.
“Where’s your husband? Your parents?” the village chief asked Young Madam Xu.
Young Madam Xu pointed inside the house. “They’re all inside, whispering about something, and they wouldn’t let me in.”
The village chief didn’t show any special expression at her words. He turned and walked towards the house, beckoning Song Jin and the Crown Prince to follow.
There were three rooms in total.
As Song Jin and the Crown Prince entered, it was eerily quiet inside, with a musty smell lingering in the air, making them feel nauseous.
The village chief was the first to enter the left room. “Old Chen, what the heck are you doing in there? You have guests and you don’t even come out to greet them.”
Suddenly, before his words could fade, the door behind Song Jin and the Crown Prince closed with a click and locked.
Song Jin spun around, but the Crown Prince grabbed her hand.
“Village chief?” the Crown Prince called out tentatively, but there was no response from inside.
The Crown Prince pressed Song Jin’s shoulder, signaling her to stay put, and then stepped towards the left room.
“What’s going on?” Song Jin asked as the Crown Prince stood at the doorway.
“There’s no one inside.”
“No one?”
They had just seen the village chief go in.
As they were speaking, they heard noises from outside.
Someone was throwing oilcloth at the house and setting it on fire.
The house seemed to have been soaked in oil beforehand, as the oilcloth instantly set the roof ablaze, and the fire spread rapidly like lightning. In no time, the entire house was engulfed in flames.
The intense heat quickly made the interior scorching hot.
The already fragile house began to collapse.
“Damn it!” Song Jin exclaimed, trying to kick the door open.
What appeared to be a flimsy door couldn’t be kicked open even with full force.
The Crown Prince glanced back. “The door has an iron core. It can’t be kicked open or burned.”
Song Jin, reminded by the Crown Prince, sniffed the air.
It was true.
Previously, the musty smell in the room had overwhelmed her senses, preventing her from noticing.
This house…
Not only was the door made of iron, but even the walls had iron cores.
In other words, except for the roof, this house was practically made of iron.
Someone intended to burn them alive.
Of course, if Song Jin couldn’t control weapons, they would indeed be burned alive.
“Come here, quickly,” the Crown Prince called out, having found a small hole they could escape through.
Song Jin flashed a mysterious smile at the Crown Prince. “Do you trust me?”
The Crown Prince was stunned.
Song Jin laughed. “Trust me and you’ll live forever.”
The Crown Prince chuckled. “Alright, I trust you, Your Majesty.”
Song Jin lifted the Crown Prince’s chin with her hand. “Empress, watch me perform a magic trick for you.”
Saying this, Song Jin clenched her fist, focusing all her attention, her eyes narrowing as she stared ahead.
Controlling iron doors, iron beds, and iron walls required more spiritual energy than controlling weapons.
As her spiritual energy surged, Song Jin’s fist tightened, veins bulging on the back of her hand.
The Crown Prince stood by her side, occasionally kicking away the falling burning wood.
At the moment Song Jin’s spiritual energy exploded, there was a loud bang.
Simultaneously, the four walls of the house exploded outward.
As the four walls flew out, the burning roof collapsed.
The Crown Prince grabbed Song Jin, and just as the roof fell, the two of them flew out.
The Heavenly Hound had already dashed out ahead of them, heading straight for a tree in the yard.
With one swipe, it took down a man perched on the tree holding a crossbow, locking his throat.
To his death, he couldn’t see what had attacked him.
The iron plates flew in all directions, scorching hot and with great force, killing everything within their range.
As Song Jin and the Crown Prince landed outside, they heard wails and cries.
Looking up, Song Jin saw a crowd of men, women, and children standing outside the house.
The flying iron plates had caught them off guard, and they were all hit.
Some iron plates were whole, hitting only a few people, but others had been shattered by Song Jin’s spiritual energy before flying out, turning into fragments.
Those fragments, like bullets, pierced through bodies.
With sharp edges and scalding temperatures, most people on the scene fell with their flesh mangled.
The sudden change of events didn’t give Song Jin and the Crown Prince a clear view of the scene before a dense crowd surrounded them.
“Kill them!”
“Kill them!”
Their cold, ruthless eyes were fixed on Song Jin and the Crown Prince as they approached step by step.
They looked like the fanatical followers of a cult Song Jin had seen on TV.
They were holding sickles, axes, and wooden sticks.
Their savage gazes closed in.
“These are local villagers,” Song Jin blurted out.
Looking at the crowd closing in, Song Jin’s scalp tingled.
She could use spiritual energy to push away the iron plates and escape, but she couldn’t bring herself to harm these common people.
“Have they been bewitched?” the Crown Prince said, staring at the vicious expressions.
“We came to find Cui Liang’s family. Everyone, calm down!”
The Crown Prince tried to reason with the villagers.
However, the villagers seemed unable to hear him.
The people at the front had already approached, swinging their sickles at the Crown Prince and Song Jin without hesitation.
Damn it!
If they fought, there wouldn’t be many survivors left.
The Crown Prince shielded Song Jin while she quickly used her spiritual energy.
Fortunately, most of the weapons in the villagers’ hands were made of iron.
She controlled them with ease.
In an instant, the sickles and axes in their hands felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, dragging their hands, arms, and half of their bodies down to the ground.
The villagers were shocked by the sudden change.
As they were stunned, someone in the crowd shouted, “They use witchcraft! Quick, kill them, they use witchcraft!”
The villagers, momentarily shocked by the change, dropped their weapons and charged at Song Jin and the Crown Prince with a vicious determination.
They looked as if they were willing to die.
“They’re being controlled,” Song Jin said urgently.
The Crown Prince kicked away a few people who had charged at them.
These villagers had ferocious expressions but no martial skills. The Crown Prince’s kick sent one person flying, knocking down several others, giving Song Jin and the Crown Prince a moment to breathe.
