The Strongest Onmyoji and the Shikigami With AI are Unparalleled in Another World ~ A Second Life Properly Enjoyed Using Artificial Intelligence ~ - Chapter 165
It’s been ten days since we heard about the demons from the dragon.
Since then, Leanne hasn’t come to my room even once, nor have I seen her.
In the meantime, with nothing else to do, we’ve been lazing around in my room.
Today, as usual, I was spending time with the two disembodied heads, as well as Natalia reading a book across from me, and AI-chan sitting next to me.
“…By the way, where’s Lily?”
Disembodied Alice asked while looking up at Natalia.
“She’s still sleeping. She was up late last night, I think.”
“…Oh, that’s because Yuuma didn’t let her go to bed.”
What a way to phrase it.
“We were just playing card games, that’s all.”
“…True.”
Natalia had gone to bed early, but Lily and I had stayed up playing cards.
Alice and Annie, of course, were just heads.
“Lily-san’s not very good, is she? Master, the only one you can reliably beat is Lily-san…”
Yeah, she’s really weak.
She’s such a good person, though.
“So you kept her up late for that?”
Natalia sighed in exasperation.
“Well, Lily-san looked sleepy, but since Master was having so much fun, she just smiled and kept playing without saying a word.”
What a saint…
“She gives up with me right away, though.”
“You’re too strong. You’re probably cheating.”
She does seem a bit sly, after all.
“I’m not cheating! Want to play again and find out?”
“Fine.”
Just as Natalia and I reached for the deck of cards on the table to start another game, the door swung open. Lily burst in with the biggest smile on her face.
“It’s snowing! Snow! It’s piling up!”
You could’ve just looked out the window to see that.
Everything’s white out there.
“Eat breakfast first.”
“Oh, right!”
Lily quickly left the room and returned moments later with her breakfast.
Sitting in her usual spot next to Natalia, she started eating.
“It’s amazing! It’s really piling up!”
“Yeah, it is.”
“Yuuma, Yuuma!”
So much energy this morning…
“What is it?”
“Let’s go outside! Let’s play in the snow!”
Ugh…
It’s cold…
“Alright, but make sure you dress warmly. You’re not as bad as Annie, but you’re still showing your legs.”
Guess I have no choice. I did promise, and I kept her up late last night.
“Okay! Let’s build an igloo!”
She remembers that… She must’ve been really looking forward to it.
“I’ll come along too,” Natalia offered.
But as soon as she said that, the little fox dove under the kotatsu.
I reached into the kotatsu, grabbed her tail, and started pulling her out.
“Eek! It’s cold!”
Even though I was pulling, it seemed like AI-chan was holding on to something, making it hard to get her out.
“Little fox, stop grabbing my waist,” said Annie.
Oh, it’s Annie.
“Annie-san, you should come with us!”
“No.”
Annie seemed completely uninterested.
“Well then, this one.”
“…I’m useless out there, so don’t grab me,” came Alice’s response this time.
“Yuuma, you’re being mean to AI-chan,” Natalia said, stepping in to defend her.
“Yeah, exactly!”
“This one’s getting lazier by the day…”
At first, she used to say things like, ‘I need to wake up before Master,’ and she’d always wake me up. But recently, she doesn’t wake up at all. And even when she does, she dives straight into the kotatsu.
“I can’t handle the cold, okay?”
Some fox you are.
“Fine, fine, just come out already. Pamela… definitely won’t come, so it’ll be just the three of us.”
That one makes it perfectly clear when she doesn’t want to do something.
“That’s right.”
“Alright, let’s do our best!”
What exactly is she planning to work hard at? Playing?
“I’m going to grab my winter clothes,” Natalia said as she stood up and left the room.
As soon as she was gone, AI-chan emerged from the kotatsu.
“Didn’t you say, ‘I’m Master’s skill, so I’ll never leave Master’s side’?”
“I’m watching over everything by linking with Koma-chan’s vision.”
So basically, she wants me to take Koma-chan with us.
“Annie, want to go for a walk?”
“I already walked Koma-chan yesterday. If you want to invite me out on a date, bring Leanne and take me to the hot springs.”
She really doesn’t want to go outside, does she?
As I waited, Lily finished her breakfast and went to tidy up. By the time Lily came back, Natalia had also returned.
“Here, Lily, put this on.”
“Got it!”
After we changed into warm clothes, we left the room and headed to where Koma-chan was.
“Koma-chan, want to go outside? The snow’s piled up, though…”
When I asked, Koma-chan hopped off the sofa, wagged her tail, and circled around our feet excitedly.
“Good, good.”
What a peculiar dog.
We took Koma-chan with us and left the dormitory. Outside, a blanket of white snow covered everything, and the air was biting cold.
“Amazing!”
Lily gleefully started scooping up snow from the ground.
“Lily, let’s head to the square over there. Playing here might bother the other residents.”
“Good point! Alright, let’s go!”
As we walked, there weren’t many people around, but the children we did see were playing excitedly in the snow.
When Natalia and I arrived at the nearby square, we watched Lily frolic in the snow, feeling almost like her parents.
At Lily’s request, we built a snow hut and even made a snowman while we were at it. To be honest, the cold had faded into the background, and I was actually starting to enjoy myself.
“Lily, let’s go shopping soon and have lunch,” Natalia called out to Lily, who was off in the distance throwing snowballs.
“Okay!”
As lunchtime approached, we went shopping and then returned to the dormitory.
