Chapter 13 – The Admiral Tries to Escape
☆、Chapter 13 – The Whole Empire Thinks The Admiral Wants To Elope (Part 2)☆、
Victoria didn’t spend much time on Glenn, who had lost his usefulness. She had more “important” things to do. In the 48 hours after Glenn woke up, he only came into contact with one guard— Captain White.
”Admiral.” White called out, and the floating dinner plate behind him landed on the table. “It’s time for lunch.”
The dishes include both meat and vegetarian dishes, also served with a soup.
Glenn, the well-treated captive, sat leaning against the bed, holding an old paper book in his hand. He could not touch any electronic products now, so he could only ask the only guard to find something for him to do. Fortunately, they were friends and had similar hobbies.
The prisoner sat up in the tempting aroma, calmly sat down at the table, and took the disposable soft knife and fork from the corner of the table.
As expected, he had to forget about weapons or anything like that.
Glenn had anticipated White’s meticulousness, but Victoria’s impeccable defense still gave him a headache.
”Looks good,” Glenn said calmly.
”Really? I’m glad you like it.”
White’s tone was a little absent-minded, and Glenn couldn’t help but look up and take a closer look.
The brown-haired captain was not in a good mental state. He was always worried every time he entered the electronic prison. His hair was messy and his eyes were faintly dark. If one put the two of them together, it would be difficult for outsiders to tell which one of them was the real prisoner.
White quietly watched Glenn eat, and said calmly: “Admiral, it’s been three days, and I’m still very curious. What exactly did you and His Highness Joshua plan?”
Glenn swallowed a mouthful of hot soup, his tone unchanged: “I don’t understand what you mean.”
”…Too quiet.” White said softly, “Even if His Royal Highness the Crown Prince was really seriously injured and the news needed to be blocked, would the Fran military really remain silent for three days?”
This was not a question; Glenn calmly forked up his salad.
”Maybe they are already on their way to hunt me down, but you just don’t know it.”
”You don’t have to stir up trouble,” White smiled weakly, “My relationship with the princess is a little more complicated than you think. I won’t betray her easily.” He poured himself a glass of warm water and took a sip. “So I was always surprised. I never thought you would betray His Highness Joshua, even if he chose someone else.”
Glenn swallowed the vegetables he had been chewing and wiped the sauce stains from the corners of his mouth with a napkin: “People change.”
”Yes, people change.” White’s eyes curved and his brows relaxed, “But His Royal Highness Joshua’s engagement with Archduchess Theresa had never been a betrayal to you, right?”
Glenn paused and stared silently at the young traitor.
——Can love awakened by jealousy really have such destructive power? Admiral, what are you planning?
—Good, you didn’t tell the truth to Victoria. I thought you were lovers. But why didn’t you?
The warm water in the cup had completely cooled down, and White’s fingers were circling the rim of the cup.
”I don’t understand what you’re saying, Captain.” Glenn calmly picked up the equally cold soup bowl and flicked the white porcelain bowl wall. “If you want to discredit my feelings for Joshua, there’s no need to… It’s very painful to hurt him, but love and hate can never cancel each other out, right?”
White’s brows relaxed and he nodded: “I was too talkative.”
”If you’re done eating, I’ll take the dishes away.”
Glenn’s actions replaced his words. He left the table, walked to the sink on the side of the room, rinsed his mouth, then sat back on the bed and picked up the worn paper book next to the bed.
”Goodbye.”
”Goodbye.”
Glenn lowered his eyes, turned sideways with his back to the monitor, and breathed a sigh of relief silently at the cursive words “The Origin of War” printed on the cover of the paper book.
Fourteen hours later, Lei Shi Star.
”The power is out?! Why are all the damn lights out?”
”How the hell should I know?! Team One, go find Gray Pigeon’s men and check the main system of the base’s power supply center!”
”Shit… I just reached the last level of the game!”
”Stop complaining. I was just playing cards. It’s a rare win. Have you informed Her Royal Highness the Princess?”
”Don’t let the master hear you yelling like that. Do you want to die? That person is here, everything should be fine.”
”Hey, forget it. Let’s go then!”

At three o’clock in the morning, Victoria woke up from her sleep, hugged the Beta’s strong waist unhappily, and asked vaguely: “…What’s wrong?”
White pinched her shoulders good-naturedly and said softly, “It seems like there’s a power outage.”
”Yeah.” Victoria lazily replied. Beta didn’t have an estrus period, but the laziness after sex applied to all the people. She decided to sleep for a while, as it was still dark.
The power went out…
Power Failure?!
The princess who defected from the empire suddenly turned over and sat up. The sleepiness in her blue eyes completely disappeared, and her expression was frighteningly cold: “Go to the mecha hangar! The identity recognition system will take six hours to install!”
”Okay.” White agreed.
”Huo, Sang,” Victoria gritted her teeth, “that scumbag!”

Half an hour ago.
Glenn threw back the quilt the moment the lights went out and quickly put on his combat boots which were under the bed. He kicked the door lock, and the reinforced tempered glass door made a loud “clang” and fell flat into the corridor.
In front of the powerful Alpha, once the sophisticated electronic lock lost its alarm function, it was no different from a pile of scrap metal.
Glenn flexed his wrists and smiled at the white porcelain cup on the windowsill outside the door.
——White held the glass in his left hand and traced the rim of the glass with his right index finger, “Two-thirty in the morning.”
——Glenn popped up codes regularly on the edge of the bowl, “What do you want to do?”
——White did not give an answer.
But it didn’t matter. It was 2:30 in the morning, and Glenn Sasir had his first chance to escape in sixty hours. He walked towards the stairs.
Leishixing was just an insignificant small base of Gray Pigeon, so naturally there would be no prison built specifically to hold prisoners. Glenn was held in the second-floor building where White was staying temporarily, a row of cells converted from underground warehouses. The place was remote, and only the faint shouting indicated that some people in the base were dealing with the sudden power outage.
There wasn’t even a single extra guard. It seemed that Victoria really trusted White.
Glenn took a deep breath and calmly walked into the living room on the first floor.
He would get an answer.
It is now midnight on Lei Shi Star. The entire base is plunged into darkness and the room is dim.
The cold light from the nearby star blocked by the planet poured down from the window, casting a shadow on the Beta’s soft profile. His eyes were blocked by the shadow, and Glenn could not recognize his expression.
”Thank you,” Glenn said calmly.
”I didn’t do this for you. I didn’t do anything for you. You’re just lucky.” White waved the laser gun in his left hand. “But, promise me one thing, Admiral.”
”Tell me about it.”
White held the trigger with his index finger and said seriously, “Let her go when everything is over. I swear, she won’t have a chance to return to Fran.”
Glenn was puzzled as to why Victoria trusted him so much.
From all indications, it seemed that the other party was monitoring his communicator and his activities, but at the same time, Victoria turned a blind eye to his secret communications with Joshua.
Compared to a certain general of the House Empire, the princess who was raised in the deep palace was so gullible and careless.
If these doubts could still be explained by the rumors that were very popular in the empire, after meeting White, these past doubts instantly returned strongly— if there was only one person in the entire empire who could guess that Glenn and Joshua were still friends three days ago, it could only be Mr. White in front of him.
For Glenn, White is not only the once-trusted Imperial Beta Captain, but also an understanding old friend.
He betrayed Fran but didn’t stop Victoria’s flawed plan; he helped capture Glenn and now he’s letting him go.
Apparently, the internal conflict between the interstellar pirates and the Fran traitors was also fueled by the other side.
What was he trying to do? Glenn wondered silently.
But White obviously had no intention of clearing his doubts for him. The brown-haired captain held the gun steadily and asked Glenn to make a promise.
”Okay,” Glenn said, ignoring the gunshot with a calm expression, “If she shows up in Fran again, I will arrest her myself.”
White smiled and said, “That’s enough.”
Suddenly, there was a strange roar outside the window, and Glenn and White turned their heads at the same time. The curtains were thin enough for the two to see a flash of blue light in the distance, and the Beta jumped up from the sofa.
Glenn raised half of his brow in disbelief. “The extra-large mecha hangar is open. There’s a mecha hangar here?”
”I told you, you’re just lucky.” White was very calm. “Hawthorne thinks Her Royal Highness’s brain is full of water, but he likes the mecha that this brain earned.”
Glenn asked quietly, “Internal strife?”
”Yeah,” White nodded nonchalantly, “Do you want to leave now, Admiral?”
”Now?”
”Yes.” White threw the laser gun in his hand into Glenn’s arms, took out the communicator from his waist, checked the time, and handed it over.
It was two forty-eight, twelve minutes until three o’clock.
”I still have things to do. It’s up to you how you run. Oh, by the way, three kilometers southwest is Victoria’s mecha hangar. That’s all I have to say.”
His caramel eyes finally showed a genuine smile: “Good luck to you.”

As the two men left the two-story building and headed for their respective destinations, Hawthorne led his men into the last security door of the mecha hangar.
”I-Fuck…”
It was unknown who muttered that, but Hawthorne rarely glared at them.
Most of the pirates in the First Galactic Era were superstitious, and the interstellar pirates in the Third Galactic Era were no exception. If the left eye twitches, it means good fortune, and if the right eye twitches, it means disaster. Chief Hawthorne’s eyes twitched both times.
‘This is a way to make some money before I get into trouble,’ Hawthorne thought innocently.
So he brought people to steal… no, to collect rewards.
Of course, on the surface, Gray Pigeon is helping its allies repair circuits and is truly a conscientious partner.
Behind the two security doors, there were twenty medium-level A-class mechas and fifteen advanced A- and B-class mechas. The power outage cut off the encryption program loading of these thirty-five expensive heavy weapons, and they were already in Hawthorne’s possession.
He didn’t expect that there would be a bigger surprise behind this door.
Hawthorne’s girlish face had two cute dimples.
The tall white mecha stood proudly like a legendary war god, its outer layer, which had been carefully reinforced with diamonds, glowed faintly. The left arm of the mecha was equipped with a particle cannon, and the right arm was equipped with a standard lightsaber.
”Check the energy nuclear level.” Hawthorne ordered impatiently.
”S… It’s S!” The old man almost jumped up holding the detector in his hand, “Boss, this is an advanced S-class mecha! That stupid girl actually made it! This is the first advanced S-class mecha of the Fran Empire!”
”Tsk.” Hawthorne said disdainfully, “Isn’t the old man’s ‘Skull’ also a high-level S-level? What’s so great about it?”
The subordinates following behind rolled their eyes.
There are hundreds of thousands of mecha soldiers in the three galaxies, but only the House family has produced four advanced S-class mechas. The technology had been classified as a state secret for more than ten years. When the big boss snatched the mecha, the House almost had a falling out with us. Boss! Can you wake up?!
”Oh, what a pity.” The old man’s face suddenly fell. Hawthorne turned his head and looked, “This S-class mecha has been set up with an encryption program. It recognizes its master.”
Hawthorne: “…” Haha, then smash it?
