After ending the call, Kurosawa sent a message to Itsuragi.

“Is it true? Did Chizuru agree?”

“Yes, she agreed.”

“Send me a screenshot.”

“I told her through a voice call.”

“I’ll ask her myself.”

After going around in circles, with a phone call, the matter was settled.

“If you want to become an artist, I naturally welcome it with open arms,” Itsuragi said.

“Miss Runa, who do you think has more potential between me and the Karaoke Song Deity?” Kurosawa intentionally made the comparison to shift her attention to him.

“It’s hard to say. His singing skills are impressive, a genius and a powerhouse especially for someone in their twenties. However, your piano skills are strong, although I don’t know how proficient you are. If utilized well, you could also carve out a niche for yourself… and you’re good looking.”

“I’m better than him.”

Kurosawa was confident, after all, he was the Karaoke Song Deity and now had the added skill of playing the piano.

“Such confidence? That doesn’t sound like you.”

“Since he’s so unwilling to be a singer, let me do it, and make him regret it later.”

“Full of ambition! When are you free? Let’s meet and talk. Then we can find a few more teachers to assess your skills. After that, we can sign a contract and plan things out.”

“After 5 PM on Friday. I don’t have classes then.”

“Still a few days away, right?”

“I promised Miss Ninomiya that I wouldn’t neglect my studies.”

“Right, then I’ll pick you up at that time. It’s close to the weekend, and everyone’s schedule is more flexible.”

“Miss Runa, don’t bother looking for that Karaoke Song Deity anymore. If he doesn’t appreciate it when you seek him out, he’s really not worth the trouble.”

“It’s not his fault. After all, I took the initiative to approach him. Everyone has their own aspirations. Since he doesn’t want to be a singer, I won’t bother him anymore.”

Hearing this, Itsuragi realized that he was quite protective of her, which made her happy. 

However, she also explained that even though she was rejected by the Karaoke Song Deity, she still insisted on understanding the real reason behind his refusal. Perhaps there was a chance to change his mind?

As a talent scout, discovering someone’s potential was considered good luck in the industry. If she could make the Karaoke Song Deity famous and make a name in the music industry, it would be showcasing his talent and not letting it go to waste. 

“Did I go too far?”

“Haha, not at all. Anyway, he can’t hear us. Just show me your skills on Friday.”

“No problem.”

After setting up the meeting, the call ended.

“Done… Changing the singing style a bit during the performance should resolve everything smoothly.”

Successfully defusing the time bomb, Kurosawasighed in relief. 

He felt grateful and had a positive impression of Itsuragi.

During their date on Saturday, despite her being there as a friend and third wheel, she went against her usual role, acting as his partner and even making significant sacrifices.

Having finished the pork cutlets with rice, he went to the kitchen to wash the dishes, cleaned up a bit, and then went to take a shower.

After finishing the shower, he sat at a desk, facing his laptop, and started working on his university assignments.

University assignments were not as frequent as those in middle or high school, but when they came, they were often more complex and required one or two weeks to complete.

At around 10 PM, Kurosawa’s phone vibrated.

“Hikaru-kun, what are you doing?”

It was a message from Ichinose.

“Doing homework.”

“Just now, Miss Itsuragi called me.”

“What did she say?”

“She apologized for today’s tracking and said she won’t do it again. She considers the money as an apology, what should I do? She also asked me to give you her business card. If you ever change your mind and want to become a singer, contact her; she’s ready anytime.”

“Since she mentioned it’s an apology, you can accept it.”

“But it’s 50,000 yen!”

“For a high school student, it’s a significant amount, but she probably doesn’t mind.”

“But she gave it to me because she wanted to meet you. Let me give it to you next time we meet.”

“Consider it as funds for our next date, we’ll spend it together then.”

Kurosawai found that she was hesitant to accept it, so he came up with a suggestion.

“Mm-hmm!”

Hearing this suggestion, Ichinose’s heart fluttered.

“Where should we go for our next date, Hikaru-kun? You mentioned you’re good at archery; how about going to an archery range?”

“We can go to an archery range. Let me think about it, and I’ll let you know once I decide.”

“Great! I’ll go take a shower now.”

“Sure, go ahead.”

With that, their conversation ended.

Why didn’t Yuki-chan trigger the dating mission even though she expressed the desire to go on a date?

Putting down his phone, Kurosawa pondered the recent situation, feeling a bit puzzled.

It wasn’t that he insisted on having a dating mission to accompany Ichinose outside, but having a mission would undoubtedly be more convenient.

“The triggering of a dating mission is related to the location and preferences. Ichinose Yuki simply wanted to meet with the host, and she isn’t genuinely interested in an archery range, making it difficult to form valuable memories.”

As Kurosawa pondered, the system spoke up.

“So, you’re pursuing valuable memories?”

“Not every date can create precious and beautiful memories.”

The system didn’t directly answer the question but calmly stated the fact.

“That makes sense.”

Deep in thought, Kurosawa gained some insights.

This statement implied another meaning – not every date could trigger a mission. To activate a mission, one must tailor the plan according to the other person’s preferences, and the choice of location should not be too arbitrary.

Realizing this, Kurosawa noted the concept of preferences and soon resumed focusing on his homework.

In addition, he made another discovery. Even if he had plans with a girl and agreed to meet, it didn’t necessarily trigger a mission.

For example, with Itsuragi, even though they agreed to meet on Friday, the system remained silent.

The probable reason for this might be that, despite Itsuragi having a favorable impression of him, it was, at best, just a positive impression without any thought of a date. 

However, he wasn’t bothered by this, considering that Itsuragi was a close friend of Ninomiya.

If triggering a date mission with Itsuragi would make things more complicated, he would rather not pursue it. 

After all, each date mission came with specific target requirements, starting from Ichinose’s lap pillow to Ninomiya’s arm-holding and the sunscreen application.

All of these were activities between opposite sexes intended to enhance their relationship.
