Tokyo's Most Affectionate - Chapter 79
The Same Approach
After dinner, the evening classes proceeded formally.
Despite Akai Sayaka, the maid, watching nearby, there was no discernible clue.
Classes resumed at 7:30 and continued until 10:30.
As the day’s part-time work was about to conclude, Shiromiya quietly pulled Kurosawa’s notebook and wrote something.
“Take a look at how I solved this problem.”
“At 13:00, there’s a private coaching session in the morning, and others are only allowed to enter the venue in the afternoon.”
The notebook didn’t contain any problems and solutions; instead, it held a schedule.
“Yes, continue like this.”
After reviewing the content, Kurosawa nodded.
“Miss, Mr. Kurosawa, the current time is 10:28.”
Simultaneously, while they were discussing a problem, Akai, standing behind them, gave a reminder.
After a systematic inquiry, Kurosawa was led out of the study by the maid.
“This is today’s compensation.”
In front of the elevator, the maid handed an envelope to Kurosawa.
“Thank you.”
Kurosawa took it, but didn’t open it, trusting her enough at this point.
Stuffing the envelope into his briefcase, he entered the elevator as it arrived.
“Wishing you a safe journey.”
As the elevator doors closed, Akai slightly lowered her head, bowing in farewell.
Though still in formal language, Kurosawa felt her attitude had become friendlier.
The elevator doors closed, and Kurosawa descended.
Upon leaving the luxury apartment, he glanced back, lost in thought, but didn’t linger too long before moving on.
Since there was still time, he decided to walk to the subway station.
……
At 10:50 PM, Kurosawa returned home, as usual.
Living alone, he didn’t bother with meaningless greetings like “I’m back” when returning home.
“System, I have a question.”
Finally back home, Kurosawa loosened his tie, changed into slippers, sat down by the bed, and spoke.
“For the date with Miss Shiromiya at the archery range, I already have the task rewards. What happens after completing the task?”
While at the Shiromiya residence, Kurosawa was puzzled by this matter.
In this date task, whether it was archery or piano, these were skills he already possessed.
“Receiving the same rewards will upgrade the respective skills.” The system responded to the formal inquiry.
“So, if I complete the task, will archery be upgraded to a perfect level, and piano to a mastery level?”
“Yes.”
“A perfect-level skill…”
Kurosawa was somewhat surprised; he didn’t expect to obtain the first perfect-level skill so quickly.
According to his original estimate, it would take quite a while.
Following that, he felt a sense of eagerness; he was curious about how powerful the perfect-level archery would be.
With this enthusiasm, he took a shower and sent a message to Ichinose, informing her that he had arrived home.
After chatting for a while, around 11:30 PM, they stopped and went to sleep.
……
The next day, Kurosawa arrived at school early in the morning.
During the first class, he didn’t encounter Miyazaki since they had different elective courses.
In the second class, there was a similar course.
“Do we have an archery club in our school?”
Seated together, waiting for the class to start, Kurosawa asked.
“Yeah, we do, right? Tokyo University probably doesn’t have a single department without an archery club… Why do you suddenly ask about this?”
Miyazaki, upon hearing the question, didn’t answer immediately but felt curious.
For Tokyo University, there were five traditional and popular martial arts disciplines: Judo, Karate, Kendo, Kyudo (Japanese archery), and Aikido.
Among these, even though Kyudo was relatively niche and not often seen in daily life, it did exist.
“Do you know where it is? I’m thinking of checking it out.” Kurosawa didn’t elaborate, but instead, he asked.
“Of course, I know. It’s at…” Miyazaki provided him with a location.
“Okay.”
“Aren’t you the type who doesn’t join clubs? Could it be that there’s a girl in the archery club who caught your interest? I get it, you know? Girls wearing hakama look both handsome and beautiful, with a different charm from a kimono.”
Having pointed out the location, Miyazaki nodded continuously with his arms crossed.
“I’m not going for any specific girl…” Kurosawa shook his head slightly, dispelling suspicions of impure motives.
In reality, even if he hadn’t triggered the task yesterday, he would have eventually visited the archery club to check it out. After all, his only proficient-level skill had to be used in designated places like this to test its effectiveness.
“Why are you looking for the archery club, then?”
“To refine my sentiments.”
“If you really want to refine your sentiments, you might as well learn tea ceremony, ikebana, or calligraphy.”
“I’ve practiced archery before.”
To prevent him from continuing to be talkative, Kurosawa cut in.
“Such a pity, I have something to do after school; otherwise, I really want to see how you shoot arrows.”
“What are you going to do after school?”
“I’m going shopping.”
“Alone?”
“No, with a girl.”
“???”
Kurosawa doubted if he had misheard, looking at him in utter shock.
In reality, Miyazaki wasn’t an ugly guy, but he couldn’t be considered handsome either. He had a relatively ordinary appearance, somewhat resembling a bookish type or an honest person.
However, Kurosawa knew his personality well. While he could chat with colleagues in a cheerful manner, he wasn’t good at dealing with girls.
“What kind of expression is that?” Seeing his shocked expression, Miyazaki laughed, scolded him, and playfully punched him.
Later, he put his arm around Kurosawa’s shoulder, glanced around, and whispered.
“I’ll tell you, students from Tokyo University are super popular, you know? Last night, a girl added me on Line, said it was a friend’s introduction, and she was curious about me. I agreed, and we chatted all night. Only then did I realize she’s actually the campus belle at another university.”
“What’s her name?”
Upon hearing this, Kurosawa pondered for a few seconds and asked on a whim.
Another university’s female student, a campus belle, added as a Line friend through a friend’s introduction; he felt this route seemed oddly familiar.
“Why do you ask?”
Noticing his interest, Miyazaki, who was about to boast, suddenly became alert.
If Kurosawa was interested in a girl he knew, he wasn’t confident about competing.
“Don’t worry, I don’t intend to compete with you. I’m just curious about your situation.”
“She’s called Akari Tsumugi, the campus belle at Shimizu Women’s University. Let me tell you, her photos are super beautiful, and her voice is really sweet.”
Miyazaki thought for a moment, trusting him, and continued with some excitement.
He didn’t need to hear the rest. With just a name, Kurosawa understood the situation.
It’s her after all… Is this female still scamming people through online relationships?
Kurosawa squinted his eyes.
Thinking about it, it made sense. She wouldn’t easily give up such a lucrative operation; after all, there was profit to be made.
“If she asks you to buy gifts or send her things, absolutely do not agree.” After a moment of contemplation, Kurosawa warned.
“Why?” Miyazaki felt puzzled.
“Be cautious of being scammed for money.”
“No way? Her voice sounds so nice, and she’s so beautiful.”
“If today after school, you don’t see her and she suddenly says she can’t make it due to unexpected circumstances, absolutely don’t buy her anything and don’t spend a single penny for her.” Kurosawa glanced at him, not wanting to comment on her looks and voice, and gave caution.
“Why?” Miyazaki, seeing him looking serious, felt puzzled.
“If a girl genuinely likes you, she would never let you spend money on her recklessly; she would only think about saving money for you.”
“Is that so?”
Miyazaki, who has never been in a romantic relationship, was enlightened by his earnest words.
