Chapter 270: Gu Yan: Bringing Chicken Soup!

“Yuning, can I come in? I made some chicken soup for you!”

Gu Yan’s voice was full of concern as he spoke through the door.

This morning, Su Yuning had woken up unusually late and had visible dark circles under her eyes, indicating she hadn’t slept well. Gu Yan had noticed she rushed to the office without having breakfast, which made him worried. So, he went to the market, bought some ingredients, and made a pot of precious chicken soup.

The soup was perfectly seasoned and tasted great. Satisfied with his effort, Gu Yan hurried to bring it to her while it was still hot, eager to show his care.

However, in the past, he had occasionally entered her office without waiting for her response, which had made her very angry. He had even gotten slapped a few times. So now, he stood at the door, patiently waiting for her permission.

From inside, Su Yuning’s voice responded, “Don’t come in!”

“I’m… discussing business with someone from the Wang Group… It’ll take a while… you should wait downstairs… okay?”

After speaking, she fell silent.

Gu Yan frowned. “Yuning… her voice sounds strange… Could she be unwell?”

Worried, Gu Yan considered opening the door but hesitated, fearing his wife’s anger. As he debated, he heard a panicked voice behind him.

“Oh my gosh, you again!”

“President Su is in an important meeting with the Wang Group. This deal is crucial for us. Please don’t interrupt!”

Su Yuning’s secretary rushed over and blocked the door. She was relieved to have made it just in time; she had only stepped away for a moment, and Gu Yan had shown up again!

She had always known Gu Yan as Yuning’s husband. Initially, she admired how caring he was, always bringing food and drinks to the office. But soon, she realized something was off. Why did he always come during work hours instead of waiting until she was off work? His interruptions could be very disruptive.

Over time, from President Su’s complaints and the secretary’s observations, Gu Yan went from being seen as a considerate husband to a well-meaning but oblivious fool.

Now, her job was to prevent him from disturbing the important meeting inside.

Facing the secretary, Gu Yan tried to reason, “I just want to bring her some chicken soup. It won’t take long!”

The secretary was speechless.

*Won’t take long? Are you serious?!*

“President Su is negotiating with the Wang Group right now. Any interruption could be problematic. If you just walk in there, it could harm our company’s reputation!”

*And if they’re… well, being intimate… I definitely can’t let you go in!*

Feeling a new sense of duty to protect her boss and the company’s interests, the secretary stood her ground.

“Please stay here. I’ll deliver it to her once she’s done.”

Seeing how determined she was, Gu Yan felt helpless but worried about the strange tone in Su Yuning’s voice.

As they stood in silence, a sudden noise came from inside.

“Thud.”

It sounded like someone bumped into the door.

Immediately followed by a soft, enticing moan, “Mmm~”

Hearing this, Gu Yan panicked. Ignoring the secretary, he forcefully pushed her aside and opened the door.

“Yuning, are you okay…?”

Entering, Gu Yan saw Su Yuning sitting at her desk. Across from her, a man was intently reading a contract.

Both looked up at him.

Frowning, Su Yuning spoke, “Gu Yan, didn’t I tell you not to come in?”

“I… I was worried the soup would get cold, so I rushed in…”

Feeling bewildered by the scene, Gu Yan quickly placed the thermos on the desk.

“Get out now!”

“Okay, but make sure to drink it while it’s hot.”

Gu Yan left the room reluctantly, still confused by what he thought he had heard.

“Maybe I imagined it…? I did open the door right away…”

However, seeing the man in the room made him uneasy.

“That guy looks shady… Discussing business alone like that? Something’s not right!”

Determined to protect his wife, Gu Yan positioned himself in the lobby, keeping an eye on the elevators. If that man tried to take Yuning out for a meal, he would intervene.

But Gu Yan couldn’t have imagined what was happening after he left.

Back in the office, Su Yuning stood up, glaring at Wang Haoran.

“You jerk! Give it back!”

“Alright, alright, I’ll give it back.”

Wang Haoran smiled, moving some scattered documents on the desk.

Underneath them were two pieces of white intimate clothing.
