I feel like the authors choice of sports teams was a bad example. Professional teams would pay top dollar for someone to manage everything about their team. So this chick got lazy because she was being managed too well? It just doesn’t sit right. Being managed well means your able to solely focus on the sport.
I played hockey and soccer for years. I’m trying hard to picture a scenario where someone could ruin my motivation by being too good of a manager and I just can’t see it. If anything it’s the opposite. I’m just picturing showing up to the rink and not having to bring my own drinks, my skates are sharpened, got an extra stick, handle is wrapped nicely, she’s researched the opposing team and knows their lines, knows good strategies for our lines… Lol, come on. All I gotta do is show up and do what I enjoy? Skating around and slapping pucks? Give it to me.
