A Flat-Chest Believer Reincarnated in a World Where Women with Small Breasts Aren't Treated as Women ~ I Ended Up with a Flat-Chested Harem. - Chapter 10
There were 12 days left until the wedding. I was standing in the royal castle’s back garden with Rita, waiting for someone. The weather was perfect—clear skies, and though winter was approaching, today was warm.
“In a way, I guess it’s a good thing we only had a month to prepare,” I mused.
I found myself with more free time than I had anticipated during the wedding preparations.
After all, the schedule was so tight that trying to manage it with normal effort was impossible. There was no point in confirming things with the people involved or coordinating all the details—it simply couldn’t be done.
So, the instructions given were just for a “safe and standard wedding,” and all the decisions were delegated to the level of those in charge. It had to be this way; otherwise, it wouldn’t have been feasible.
As a result, very few things required my direct input.
“You’re likely right, my lord. If there had been a three-month preparation period, some people might’ve died from overwork,” Rita remarked with her usual calm demeanor.
In this case, the workload was limited to what could be accomplished in one month. Any tasks that couldn’t fit into that timeframe were cut. If we’d had more time, there would have been more space for adjustments and negotiations, which would have pushed the workload to the limit of what could be completed in three months.
Working non-stop with only brief naps might be bearable for one month, but if it continued for three months, people would start dropping.
“Lord Folca, my apologies for keeping you waiting,” a voice called out.
I turned to see Risty approaching quickly. She had finally arrived. Her maid, Mariel, was by her side. Today, Risty wore a white dress with a beige cardigan.
“Princess Risty, thank you for taking time out of your schedule to be here,” I said with a polite bow.
“Thank you for inviting me,” Risty replied, smiling back at me. She was as adorable as always.
Even though the wedding was fast approaching, we still had some free time. And with that free time, I had a mission: to show that my relationship with Risty was going well.
That’s why I had invited her on a not-so-secret date. Of course, it wouldn’t make sense to hide our faces if the point was to be seen, so it was an “undercover” date in name only—we weren’t trying very hard to keep it a secret.
…Okay, I admit it. I just wanted to go on a date with Risty.
“We’ll keep a reasonable distance and stay vigilant on your surroundings. Please enjoy your time together,” Mariel said.
Rita and Mariel would be accompanying us as our guards. Not that we needed much protection—both Risty and I were strong mages. What was really needed for security was neither a sword nor a shield, but eyes to watch for any surprises.
“Well then, let’s go. From here on, I’ll call you Risty,” I said, taking her hand.
“Yes, Folca,” she replied, blushing and letting out a small gasp as I intertwined our fingers in a lover’s hold. Her cheeks turned red, and her flustered reaction was adorable. We left the castle through the back gate.
Risty’s hand was warm and soft. Holding hands like this made it feel like a proper date.
The area around the royal castle was known as the Noble District, filled with estates of aristocrats and wealthy merchants. The roads were all cobblestone, and the area was quiet with few people passing by.
We walked slowly, side by side.
“For now, I’m thinking we could head straight to the southern market. That sound good to you?” I asked.
“Yes. That means we’ll be walking through the main street of the Noble District,” Risty pointed out.
“Yep, that’s the plan,” I confirmed.
It was indeed a bold route, cutting right through the street lined with the estates of high-ranking nobles. We’d even pass in front of the Gustique mansion and, more notably, the Famagusta Duke’s estate—my former fiancé’s house.
Honestly, I was already thrilled just to be out on a date with Risty. But since the point was to show off that “Folca and Risty are getting along well,” it would be a failure if no one noticed us.
We walked along the cobblestone road.
Many of the large estates had gatekeepers standing guard. Some of them gave us curious looks, as if they were thinking, “Wait, aren’t those two…?” Perfect, just as planned.
Risty still seemed a little embarrassed but didn’t seem to mind too much. She kept her head high as we continued walking while still holding hands.
When we approached the Famagusta Duke’s estate, Risty’s expression tensed slightly. I couldn’t blame her—if we happened to run into Duke Moses, it would be a little awkward. We quickly made our way past the estate without incident.
After leaving the Noble District, we entered the general city area.
