Prologue

After searching high and low, I found Sakurazaka-san in a nearby park.

A simple park nestled unexpectedly within a residential area. It has a slide, a sandbox, monkey bars, and benches.

Perhaps due to the early hour, there’s no sign of people around.

Sitting on one of the benches is a high school girl, her aura heavy and downcast, reminiscent of a boxer who’s just lost a match.

Her black hair, tinged with a hint of pink, flows in gentle waves.

As she noticed the sound of my footsteps, she slowly lifted her face.

“Ah… Yu-kun.”

Her eyes were reddened from crying.

Using the sleeve of her school uniform, she rubbed her eyes and attempted to muster a smile.

“Um… I guess I should’ve been more tactful with my words earlier. Sorry about that.”

While scratching my head, I apologized.

Sakurazaka-san gently shook her head from side to side.

“No, no. It’s not your fault, Yu-kun.”

“By the way, can you tell me your name?”

I already know her full name.

But I haven’t asked for it this time.

To avoid mistakenly calling her by it, I decided to ask for her name again.

“Oh, right. I haven’t introduced myself ‘today’.”

Sakurazaka-san scratched her cheek, looking a bit embarrassed.

With a soft smile, she said,

“I’m Akari Sakurazaka, and this is the sixth time I’m introducing myself to you. If you count the first love letter, it would be the seventh time.”
