- Chapter 13 - A Kiss So Cold That Bones Shivered
Wen Bei noticed some changes in his eyes.
He remembered what Butler Rabbit had told him.
The former owner of the Hotel had placed a seal on Qiu Tin. After having inherited the Hotel, could it be that he too could have the ability to restrict Qiu Tin?
He looked at Qiu Tin who stretched out his hand to touch his eyes, and suddenly commanded in a cold voice: “Stop!”
Qiu Tin’s hand suddenly stopped.
It wasn’t because Wen Bei’s command controlled him, but instead because there was a layer of black runes which had suddenly appeared on his neck. The runes heated up rapidly, causing him pain which was enough to burn his soul.
Qiu Tin’s expression remained unchanged, but his body’s muscles tightened due to pain, his veins appeared, and his eyes became gloomy.
He hated the feeling of being controlled by someone, and this time the person who controlled him was actually his new prey.
The writing on the runes was unclear, but they made Qiu Tin appear even more mysterious and unpredictable.
The black mist behind him was ferocious and twisted, but it couldn’t get even half a millimetre closer to the young man.
This time, Wen Bei had successfully gained an upper hand. With great satisfaction, he even hummed a cheerful tune and watched Qiu Tin being restrained and targeted by the black runes around his neck.
‘It must be painful.’
Wen Bei thought in a good mood. He stretched out the hand he had just played with, and patted the man’s face gently, with a hint of humiliation: “In the end, it turned out to be a dog tied by a leash. ”
After Wen Bei fell, his other hand clenched the dagger hidden under his pillow.
The same trick may not work on the man once again, but he is very passive now.
The young man beneath him was shrouded in shadow, and the expression on his face was arrogant. His original beauty suddenly became vivid, like a treasure shining in the dark, but Wen Bei had no idea how seductive his expression was to others.
Qiu Tin smiled in a dull manner.
Now, it was Wen Bei’s turn to be stunned for a moment. He thought that the man would be furious and would want to kill him, but he did not expect that the other would actually smile.
He was indeed a lunatic both in and out.
He had security at the Hotel and Qiu Tin was the only one who could hurt him.
He is an existence beyond control.
The coldness in Wen Bei’s eyes gradually condensed. Just as he opened his mouth, the man suddenly leaned forward. A handsome face approached Wen Bei, and the other party’s cold breath fell on his face.
Could it be that he still wanted to kill Wen Bei?
Wen Bei narrowed his eyes subconsciously: “Stop!”
The black runes suddenly deepened onto Qiu Tin’s body, and two circles of intertwined runes could be vaguely seen around him, exerting fierce pressure on him.
The sound of his internal organs being squeezed and broken came from the man, but he didn’t even frown.
He had leaned too close to Wen Bei.
Wen Bei closed his eyes instinctively.
Then, a kiss, so cold that his bones began to shiver, fell on his right eye.
Qiu Tin’s voice was filled with paranoia, like a superior emperor declaring a trivial matter: “This is mine.”
He was like a big cat that had successfully stamped its favourite prey, satisfaction was very much visible in his eyes.
A faint smell of blood filled the air.
Qiu Tin coughed, and blood oozed from the corner of his mouth.
His internal organs were probably all broken now.
Wen Bei thought coldly and maliciously, and said in a sweet and cloying tone like the tip of a knife wrapped in honey: “Only if you can get it.”
The two looked at each other for a moment, entangled in ambiguous positions on the same bed.
But neither of the two parties had any thoughts at the moment, and each looked more intent on killing the other.
After hearing what he said, Qiu Tin’s red pupils, which were originally only slightly interested, gradually became excited.
He gently wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with his fingertips, chuckled, and then got up reluctantly.
As he moved a little further away from Wen Bei, the black runes on his body no longer continued to exert pressure and heat.
Wen Bei had been watching him jump out of the opened window. Even though they were on the second floor, he was still surrounded by black mist the moment he jumped, and then disappeared from sight like…a ghost.
Wen Bei stood up expressionlessly and washed his face with cold water.
He didn’t care at all where the injured madman had gone. In fact, it would be for the best if he chose to leave the Hotel and never return.
Due to his status as the owner, as long as he stayed in the Hotel, any injury he would suffer would recover faster.
The scratches on his shoulders had healed, and the originally hideous purple handprints on his neck had turned into a light red colour. They would probably disappear by morning.
Wen Bei raised his eyes and looked at himself in the mirror. The handsome young man in the mirror had an expressionless face.
No one could tell that he had another close faceoff with death tonight.
…
Early the next morning, the Butler Rabbit was humming an elegant tune and watering the flowers in the garden.
The little pink and white flowers in the garden were unhappy but still sang in unison that they wanted to eat meat and didn’t need water.
The Rabbit Butler was very perseverant and continued to do his own thing while turning a blind eye to their demands.
Wen Bei couldn’t bear to hear their cries anymore. As soon as he got close to the garden, he felt that the flowers were not beautiful at all. To him, they were the countless mouths waiting to be fed, and he was unfortunately the poor mother hen responsible for feeding them.
Wen Bei stood there and thought for a moment, then called Ji Mingyuan and said with a serious look: “I think we may need to go out for a patrol.”
The implication was, they needed to make money.
Ji Mingyuan thought he was worried that the Fishermen would approach the Hotel.
He nodded and agreed without saying a word.
Wen Bei bent his eyes with satisfaction: “Get ready.”
This time there he had an extra tool man, so he could bring back more useful things to unlock new recipes, and try out the Hotel’s new trading function.
Last time, Wen Bei bore the disadvantage of not having a car, this time with Ji Mingyuan’s help, they successfully found a car nearby that could still start normally.
It wasn’t just any car, but a modified car.
From the decayed corpse inside, it could be inferred that the car belonged to a poor mercenary who had died not too long ago when returning from the mission.
Ji Mingyuan moved the body far away and burned it with a lighter.
Even if the body turned into ashes, it was still better than facing the fate of being the meal of some disgusting filth.
Having become accustomed to quick loss of life in the last days, the two of them didn’t sigh too much. They cleaned up the car and hit the road immediately.
Wen Bei originally wanted to drive. After all, he had no special powers and did not need to be distracted to prevent the filth on the road from attacking. But as soon as he touched the steering wheel, Ji Mingyuan nervously shouted: “I’ll drive.”
Wen Bei: “…”
He touched his nose innocently and blinked his clear cat eyes.
With a sincere look on his face: “You have to believe me, the last motorcycle incident was just an accident.”
Ji Mingyuan: “Yeah.”
His hands were firmly holding the steering wheel.
He didn’t want to die in a car accident.
Wen Bei could only give up on his ideas and go to the copilot.
Ji Mingyuan threw him a gun, which was the only weapon he had on himself. There were only five bullets left.
”Can you shoot?”
Wen Bei didn’t show off but shook his head.
Ji Mingyuan dictated the essentials of shooting while driving, and at the same time, he released his own black eagle to fly low above the car and follow closely.
Once it saw an eyeless filth approaching, it would chase it away or kill it.
Wen Bei played with the gun for a while and then hid it. He looked at the Black Eagle attentively and suddenly said: “You have very strong powers.”
Ji Mingyuan: “Well, I am one of the earlier polluters.”
He glanced at his bracelet.
The pollution level had been reduced to 93.
However, the strength of his abilities had not decreased along with the decrease in pollution level.
This was probably the most ideal situation.
Ji Mingyuan’s eyes deepened.
If possible, he hoped that more people would discover the hotel.
The Hotel could save the lives of too many polluters, and it was the only existence that could remove the Sword of Damocles that swayed above the head of every polluter.
Wen Bei glanced at him through the rear mirror. He couldn’t clearly see his full expression, but he could guess it from the silence.
He smiled: “The Hotel will be lively in the future.”
This was just a seemingly random promise made verbally.
Ji Mingyuan relaxed a little, with a smile in his eyes: “Yes.”
For some reason, he believed what the young man said.
…
After driving for about half an hour, Wen Bei felt as if they had just made a leap from the usual virgin forest to a different world.
There were no longer green vines everywhere in the area, instead it seemed as if the entire world had turned to a shade of dark purple.
