　　What Huang Qian wanted to imply was obvious— she would never give in to their coercion.

　　While they were talking, pairs of empty eyes appeared one after another, observing them in the darkness.

　　The woman shuddered with fear, she looked up and found that they were actually dolls.

　　The dolls were so finely shaped that they looked like fresh corpses.

　　She couldn’t help but scream in fear.

　　Huang Qian: “That’s his special ability, Puppet Master. With it, he can transform corpses into puppets.”

　　The fat man glanced at Wen Bei greedily: “You are also very suitable to be my puppet.”

　　The ‘puppets’ took a step forward and narrowed the encirclement.

　　Huang Qian began to feel cold, and the temperature of the air around her dropped by several degrees in an instant.

　　Frost began to form on the dolls.

　　Huang Qian smiled: “Do you want me to freeze all these puppets of yours and smash them to pieces?”

　　The fat man was indeed afraid. He moved slightly, and all the puppets stopped approaching and obeyed his command.

　　The fat man glanced at Wen Bei and decided to try a different approach: “Even if you want to protect him, you can’t. A poisonous bug has been planted in his body. If you dare to resist, the insect will crush his heart.”

　　An expression of disbelief appeared on the woman’s face. She only knew that Li Shi’s ability was related to poisoning, but she didn’t know under what conditions it would be possible.

　　She looked at the fat man and suddenly realised that the one who caused such a problem might be her.

　　‘I was used again.’

　　The woman was so frightened that her legs went limp and she had to sit on the ground, apologising in a daze.

　　Huang Qian was stunned for a moment and looked at Wen Bei, but the other party was very calm.

　　Infected by his composure, Huang Qian also calmed down.

　　She guessed that her saviour was unfathomable. How could he be infected by a tiny poisonous insect?

　　Seeing that they did not show the panic he had imagined, Li Shi decided to activate the poisonous bug which was in Wen Bei’s body.

　　It would hurt so much that Wen Bei would have to kneel down and beg for mercy.

　　As he thought about it, a look of determination appeared in Li Shi’s eyes, and he suddenly stretched out his hand – nothing happened.

　　This time, it was his turn to be stunned.

　　A smile doesn’t disappear, it just moves.

　　Wen Bei stood there, curled his eyes, and deliberately said something very irritating: “Huh? What happened to your worm?”

　　Wen Bei had already known about Li Shi’s ability.

　　It was indeed deadly to ordinary people.

　　Unfortunately, he did not belong to their apocalyptic world.

　　Thus, the rules of pollution present in this world didn’t apply to him.

　　　Soon the fat man couldn’t laugh anymore. When he saw that Wen Bei didn’t make any movement, his sense of crisis suddenly reached its maximum.

　　”H–How are you okay?”

　　The fat man’s eyes suddenly widened, and one of the puppets rushed to where Li Shi was hiding and directly grabbed him out.

　　The puppet was so strong that it seemed to be able to crush a person’s bones.

　　Li Shi struggled: “I don’t know! I don’t know anything!”

　　He finally panicked.

　　His abilities were useless in the current situation.

　　But, the fat man didn’t believe it: “You dare to betray me?”

　　Before Li Shi could say anything, he was punched in the face, so hard that one of his teeth fell out and blood spurted onto the ground.

　　”What a dog-eat-dog situation.” Huang Qian whistled.

　　The fat man couldn’t bother dealing with Li Shi now. He knew that he would not be able to beat Huang Qian if he fought her one-on-one, but if he let Wen Bei escape then what should await him was only an even more horrific end.

　　Fear appeared in the fat man’s eyes, and it quickly turned into a desperate move.

　　The puppets with their eyes gouged out walked towards them again with the sound of clicking joints.

　　Wen Bei didn’t expect that even at this point, the man still didn’t want to let him go.

　　What on earth had Qiu Tin done to them to attract such great hatred?

　　He twitched his lips and reached into his pocket again.

　　An arrow made of ice simultaneously appeared in Huang Qian’s hand.

　　Just as they were ready to go, a sound of footsteps, neither light nor heavy, suddenly sounded from outside the abandoned construction site.

　　Everyone stopped moving in unison and looked towards the source of the sound.

　　The footsteps seemed to not be stepping on the ground, but on people’s hearts, making everyone’s breathing become rapid.

　　Under the soft moonlight, Qiu Tin walked leisurely, a gentle smile appeared on his face: “So lively?”

　　A pair of huge black wings unfolded behind him, and its shadow covered the remaining moonlight.

　　Wen Bei couldn’t see his expression clearly.

　　But, even the most obtuse person could sense the unusual murderous aura permeating in the air.

　　Qiu Ting stopped quietly and said, “I’m here to pick up the naughty little bird who hasn’t returned home yet. I hope I didn’t disturb your fun.”

　　A hint of amusement appeared in his eyes, and he looked at the fat man and Li Shi.

　　Huang Qian felt even colder. The man who suddenly appeared made her hair stand on end.

　　Her instinct prompted her to escape.

　　Wen Bei loosened the stopwatch in his pocket.

　　Now that Qiu Tin has found him, there was no need for him to reveal his secret cards.

　　Huang Qian watched Qiu Tin walk towards Wen Bei. She wanted to issue a warning, but when she opened her mouth she was speechless due to nervousness.

　　Wen Bei shook his head at her, indicating that she didn’t need to worry.

　　Qiu Tin smiled and said, “You made new friends?”

　　Wen Bei: “This is the bodyguard I hired.”

　　Qiu Tin showed a slightly hurt expression, but his eyes were cold: “Isn’t it enough that it came to me?”

　　He leaned over slightly and approached Wen Bei, whispering, “You smell like alcohol.”

　　His tone was full of vinegar flavor¹, as if Wen Bei had done something to betray him.

　　Huang Qian couldn’t see Qiu Tin’s expression, she could only hear his words, and she couldn’t help but show shock in her eyes: “Boss, so you…”

　　After determining that Qiu Tin was not on the fat man’s side, she felt much more relieved.

　　If Wen Bei was a cat, his fur would have exploded right now. He paused for a moment and said, “…No, it’s not what you think.”

　　No matter what Huang Qian waa thinking, it was definitely not something good.

　　Huang Qian couldn’t believe it and she began to blame herself.

　　It turned out her new boss already had a partner, and he seems to be a powerful polluter.

　　She thought that because her boss’ boyfriend was unhappy because she took Wen Bei to the bar.

　　They seemed very close to each other, so they probably had a very good relationship.

　　Huang Qian silently looked at their almost overlapping figures, took a step back, and said in a very deep tone: “No need to explain, I understand it.”

　　It was better to destroy ten temples than to break a beautiful relationship.

　　At an angle that Wen Bei couldn’t see, Qiu Tin’s mouth curled up, and the bad emotion in his eyes was replaced by satisfaction.

　　As if declaring sovereignty, he placed his hands on Wen Bei’s waist and led him towards himself. The huge black wings behind him flapped again and closed slightly as if it wanted to swallow the whole person.

　　Wen Bei was having a headache and didn’t notice that he was being taken advantage of again.

　　He turned to look at the woman who was sitting on the ground in a trance, and simply asked Huang Qian to take her away.

　　He didn’t know why Qiu Tin appeared before him, but if he did something out of line, then he would definitely not be able to stop him.

　　Adhering to the principle that less trouble is worse than more trouble, it was better to directly drive away irrelevant personnel.

　　Huang Qian was a little worried. When she looked up, she accidentally met Qiu Tin’s cold eyes. It felt as if her artery was being slit open by the sharp teeth of a beast. Her heart sank and she nodded unconsciously, pulling up the woman whose legs had gone weak and quickly walked out.

　　The abandoned construction site became even quieter, with only four people left.

　　The fat man never expected the situation to turn out like this.

　　He should have used Li Shi’s special ability to kidnap the young man instead of being in a completely passive position until now.

　　The parts of his body beaten up by Qiu Tin continued to hurt, and even though he had just been treated with a healing power, the phantom pain did not go away.

　　His face was paler than the puppets he brought with him: “This is none of my business, it was all Li Shi’s idea!”

　　Li Shi, who was suddenly mentioned, yelled and pointed at the fat man and cursed: “I did this because you threatened me!”

　　The fat man didn’t expect that he would be betrayed by Li Shi, and he was so angry that he could hardly say a word of rebuttal.

　　The quarrel between the two people made Wen Bei frown. He stopped them and began to question them about the black market human trafficking.

　　The fat man and Li Shi didn’t bother to hide anything. They just wanted to tell everything they knew just so that they could escape.

　　The more Wen Bei listened, the more his brows furrowed. He secretly took out a recorder which he had bought at a stall and recorded everything they said.
