Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight
“Eh?”
Asuka blinked her adorable eyes twice, her pale little hand holding a spoonful of roasted sweet potato suspended in the air.
“Female lead? Is it the female lead in Hayata-chan’s script?”
“Yeah.”
Kumra set down the dishes in his hands and nodded, saying, “Is Asuka willing?”
Asuka pursed her small lips, forcefully swallowing the food in her mouth. Her bright eyes sparkled as she happily replied, “Willing. What about the male lead?”
Kimura hesitated for a moment.
If Asuka were to be the leading actress, logically, they should find a male actor as talented as Asuka to play the male lead.
After all, Asuka had acted in so many TV dramas and movies, and it would be challenging for an ordinary person to act alongside her.
However, considering his current financial situation, he couldn’t afford to hire such a male actor. Even if he could, judging from Asuka’s expectant expression, she probably wouldn’t be happy with it.
Most importantly…
He didn’t want to see Asuka performing with another guy in front of his camera.
Just thinking about it made him inexplicably uncomfortable.
With determination, Kimura replied, “I’ll take on the role.”
Upon hearing this, Asuka’s small, snow-white feet dangled in front of the chair, swaying gently.
“Then… what’s Hayata-chan’s script about?” Asuka asked.
After a moment of contemplation, Kumura hesitated before saying, “Love?”
Considering his current circumstances, a low-budget and easily shootable script would have to be focused on a love theme.
It would be even better if it revolved around youthful romance, allowing for convenient shooting locations on the school campus.
As for the content of the script, he already had some ideas and plans.
“I remember Asuka mentioning that during middle and high school, you were always in the art club, right?”
“Yes.” Asuka answered obediently. “Why is Hayata-chan suddenly asking about this?”
A smile appeared on Kimura’s face as he continued, “How’s Asuka’s drawing skill now? Can you still draw?”
“Is Hayata-chan looking down on me?”
Puffing up her cheeks, Asuka set down the roasted sweet potato in her hand and picked up her phone from the table.
Her fingers quickly slid across the screen, and finally, she turned the phone screen toward Kimura.
“I usually keep drawing. Take a look…”
Asuka held the phone with one hand, while the fingers of her other hand slid across the phone screen.
The phone screen displayed Asuka’s photo album, containing various drawings she had made in her spare time on pieces of paper of different sizes.
There were drawings of anime characters, various objects, and, most prominently, adorable little cats.
Kimura was somewhat surprised but had to admit that Asuka’s drawings were very nice. They might not be highly artistic, but they were detailed and well-crafted.
After flipping through the last image, Asuka retrieved her phone.
“How is it?”
“Great. As expected of Asuka,” Kimura said thoughtfully.
Upon hearing Kimura’s praise, Asuka, like a proud little cat, revealed a smug smile, displaying her cute, snow-white teeth.
“Since that’s the case… then it’s settled,” Kimura murmured to himself, as if making a decision.
“What’s settled?”
“The script.” Kimura’s expression brightened, seeming content. “I know what the script should be about now.”
“What is Hayata-chan going to write?”
Asuka asked curiously, hands resting on the kitchen island, leaning forward involuntarily.
Kimura picked up the washed dishes, placing them back into the cupboard one by one.
Faced with Asuka’s curiosity, he just smiled and shook his head. “You’ll know when the time comes.”
Asuka pouted, feeling a bit wronged. “If you won’t say, then don’t say. Stop keeping me in suspense.”
……
Outside the window, the night deepened, and the cold light from the rental house dispersed the darkness outside.
A damp and slightly chilly breeze swept in through the crack in the open window, taking away the warmth inside.
Click-clack.
The faint glow of the computer screen illuminated Kimura’s face as his fingers swiftly danced across the keyboard.
“Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight.”
A clear and melodious voice came from beside him.
Kimura turned his head helplessly to look at Asuka, who was sitting next to him, carrying a chair.
As if sensing his gaze, Asuka turned her head, and her clear and bright eyes curved into a smile.
“I’m writing the script,” Kimura said.
“I know,” Asuka nodded.
“Well, Asuka…”
“I’ll accompany Hayata-chan in writing.”
Asuka said, leaning towards him.
Kimura found it a bit amusing and said, “I might write until late. How about you rest first, Asuka?”
“It’s okay. I’ll stay up with Hayata-chan.”
Seeing that Kimura was about to say something, Asuka quickly added, “Don’t worry, Hayata-chan. I’ll quietly watch from the side and won’t disturb you at all.”
Kimura raised an eyebrow, looking at Asuka’s pitiful expression, and sighed helplessly.
“I really lost to Asuka… Asuka just sit quietly and don’t speak.”
“Yes!”
Seeing this, Kimura didn’t say much either, he turned back to look at the computer in front of him.
“Even If This Love Disappears from the World Tonight.”
This was the script he finally decided on.
A simple yet innovative romantic movie script.
This film wasn’t very famous in his previous life, but it left a deep impression on him.
Among various scripts, he considered it the most feasible for a movie.
After quickly recalling the plot from his memory, Kimura pressed the keys.
【A girl who is beautiful but should have no meaning to me said to me,
‘I can date you, but I have three conditions.
First, we can’t talk to each other before school ends.
Second, the content of our communication should be as concise as possible.
The last one is, you must not really fall for me. Can you do it?’】
【…】
【Why did I answer her like that even though I didn’t know her? – I said to her, ‘Okay.’】
【…】
Fingers danced quickly on the keyboard, and the plot emerged from his mind like a spring.
As Asuka watched the cursor jumping continuously on the screen, her initially happy heart from being close to Kumura gradually quieted down with each line of text appearing.
After an unknown amount of time passed, Asuka’s voice echoed in the living room.
“Hayata-chan, are Kamiya Toru and Hino Maori the main characters in the script?”
“…Mm.”
“Hayata-chan, why did Hino Maori propose those three conditions?”
“… Don’t know.”
“Hayata-chan, why did Hino Maori write down what Kamiya Toru said in the notebook?”
“…”
“…”
Asuka sat in the chair, the sound of the keyboard tapping in her ears.
She turned her head slowly, her eyes fixed on the young man beside her.
A slender neck, a neat and clean jawline, fair and handsome cheeks…
The refreshing night breeze blew in from the window, gently stirring Kimura’s fine bangs.
A faint blush appeared on Asuka’s fair cheeks, and a subtle smile curved her lips.
There was always a feeling that…
Kimura, who worked earnestly, had a different kind of charm.
