For a moment, they locked eyes, the air flowing slowly between them.

Han Xi had just woken up, finally having a morning where she could sleep in, but Fang Zhou’s reaction seemed a bit much.

She turned her head and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Her voice was gentle, like freshly harvested cotton in autumn—soft and without edges.

In that moment, Fang Zhou felt as if he had been transported back to two years ago, when he was still working at Han Xi’s company and they were about to head out together.

The usually strong and independent Han Xi would, upon waking in the morning, act like a little girl—cuddly and wanting hugs.

Sometimes, she’d even need a kiss from Fang Zhou to get out of bed.

Back then, happiness was so simple. Even eating breakfast together and leaving for work together made life feel full of promise.

Dazed for a moment, Fang Zhou finally came back to his senses, turning his head and saying in a low voice, “Why are you in my bed?”

Han Xi chuckled softly, her bold and playful gaze wandering over his body, tracing his muscles with her eyes.

“What do you think?”

Feeling her impudent gaze, Fang Zhou glanced down at himself, realizing he was stark naked!

And the cool breeze touching certain areas made it all too clear.

His eyes widened as he turned to look at Han Xi, utterly shocked.

“There’s no way I asked you to come!”

Something’s not right!

A few days ago, I was just using five fingers, and now this?

Besides, wasn’t I drinking with Li Siming and the others last night?

How did Han Xi end up in my house?

“If you didn’t invite me, how could I have gotten in?”

Han Xi gave him a meaningful look, sitting up straight. The blanket slid off, revealing her curvaceous figure.

Despite her tall, slender frame, the tight-fitting tank top highlighted her well-endowed figure.

The sight was too alluring, and Fang Zhou stared, then quickly looked away, scolding himself: What are you looking at? You’ve seen it all before!

But Fang Zhou couldn’t believe he would make a drunken call. He found his phone on the table and unlocked it while denying, “There’s no way I called you. I…”

Having given up on more sleep, she got out of bed, looking for her clothes.

She turned to Fang Zhou and asked, “I want to take a shower. Do you have any extra clothes I can wear?”

But Han Xi couldn’t possibly have been at the restaurant last night and just happened to bring him home.

Suppressing his confusion, he found a clean set of clothes and handed them to Han Xi.

“Go ahead. There are new towels and toothbrushes in the cabinet outside the bathroom.”

Once Han Xi went into the bathroom and closed the door, Fang Zhou took out his phone and called Li Siming.

After many rings, Li Siming answered, sounding groggy and annoyed.

“Hello? Who is it? Calling so early, ruining my dream!”

Suppressing his irritation, Fang Zhou said, “It’s me, Fang Zhou.”

Hearing his name, Li Siming was even less polite, asking loudly, “What do you want? I drank too much last night and my head hurts.”

“How did I get home last night? What time did I get back?”

Fang Zhou’s tone was serious, but Li Siming didn’t catch on.

“Around 11:30, I think. Called a driver to take you home!”

“Got it.”

He hung up and stared blankly at the bathroom door, knowing Han Xi was in there showering.

So, it really was me who called her, invited her in, and welcomed her.

Drunken stupidity always leaves me clueless, not knowing what I’d done.

He recalled that time in the mountains, waking to see a man and thinking he’d been taken advantage of.

Now, his drunken blunders had become reality.

She seemed calmer than he was, not needing his apology.

He slowly found his clothes, got dressed, and started searching for food in the house.

Waking up hungry, he decided to make some noodles for her.

Maybe after eating, he’d figure something out.

He worked quickly, and within ten minutes, two bowls of noodles were ready.

Just as Han Xi finished her shower, now wearing Fang Zhou’s blue shirt and shorts.

“Smells good.”

Drying her hair with a towel, she looked toward the kitchen.

Fang Zhou placed the noodles on the table and grabbed chopsticks.

“Eat first, then dry your hair.”

Two steaming bowls of egg noodles sat on the table, the aroma filling the room, adding a touch of homeliness.

Han Xi’s heart stirred, realizing it had been a long time since she’d eaten Fang Zhou’s cooking.

“What made you want to cook today?”

She walked to the table, her eyes sparkling with something.

Fang Zhou scratched his head, laughing nervously, “Breakfast around here isn’t great. Better to cook myself.”

“Are you going to the office later? If you don’t want to eat, you can grab something on the way.”

Honestly, since joining the dating show, Fang Zhou rarely cooked. He wasn’t sure how good these noodles were.

Unexpectedly, Han Xi sat down, a faint smile on her face.

“I’ll eat this.”

If possible, she’d like to keep eating it forever.
