Don’t be fooled by the fact that Xia Shuyi’s favorability toward Shen Lang is only a measly 24 points right now.
Keep in mind—they’ve known each other for less than two hours and haven’t really chatted much.
Besides, this favorability score is basically a raw, honest rating of how the opposite sex really feels about you—a scorecard for all your actions.
In plain terms, it’s like a keycard that tells you if a girl is up for getting closer with you.
Just a few words made a worldly woman like Xia Shuyi bump up her rating for Shen Lang by a lot, which shows just how wild the system’s power really is.
It’s nothing that those flaky dudes online—who start things and then ditch you—could ever compare to.
Of course, the system did say it would suggest response options for Shen Lang based on her info.
At the end of the day, whether she ends up liking him more is totally up to Shen Lang’s own efforts.
After getting home, Su Lexuan’s chat box lit up with a message:
“Just finished showering, about to watch a horror movie with my roommate—the number one horror flick, ‘Kun Chi Rock’! Feeling so smug.”
Right after that smug emoji, there was a selfie screenshot attached.
Shen Lang tapped the screenshot to enlarge it and, damn, he got pretty turned on.
It was a shot of a laptop on the table, playing the horror movie.
But right below the screen was a pair of long, well-proportioned, delicate yet enticingly curvy feet—with a few droplets of water still clinging to them. Clearly, they’d just been washed.
There were also a few other girls in the frame, and they weren’t bad-looking at all.
Especially the short-haired girl next to Su Lexuan munching on some chips—she was just as attractive as Su Lexuan herself.
She had a lovely, oval face, sparkling big eyes, a high nose bridge, a cute little cherry mouth, and porcelain skin so fresh it practically glistened.
Apart from that short-haired girl, the rest were huddled up with their pillows, looking like they wanted to watch but were too scared to really go for it.
The photo seemed to be taken on a whim, and Shen Lang figured that Su Lexuan wasn’t the type of girl to show a guy her legs just because she’d just met him.
Sure enough, Su Lexuan quickly retracted the screenshot and sent an awkward emoji along with a message:
“Did you see it?”
Shen Lang then had three options to choose from:
1: “I saw it, and now I wanna lick you from head to toe!”
2: “I didn’t watch it—what did you retract?”
3: “I saw it. Your roommate is way too timid—this movie isn’t even that scary. LOL!”
Honestly, being a total leg fetishist, Shen Lang really wanted to pick Option 1—those gorgeous feet were seriously mouthwatering.
But if he chose Option 1, he was sure his WeChat would blow up with a big red exclamation mark.
In the end, he sent out:
“I saw it. Your roommate is way too timid—this movie isn’t even that scary. LOL!”
Shen Lang went with Option 3.
Anyway, as long as the chat kept going, sooner or later he’d get to play with those feet himself!
Su Lexuan had just wanted to casually snap a pic of her and her roommate watching a horror movie for Shen Lang—but she accidentally included her roommate…and her legs.
Luckily, her roommate didn’t notice any of that at first and only focused on the laptop screen, sighing in relief as her fingers danced excitedly over it.
During the movie, her roommate sent over some messages:
“Come on, this is the best horror movie ever from that country—I heard it even scared people to death on opening night!”
“Nah, it’s not that crazy. I watched it alone at night, no big deal.”
“Wow, you’re brave. I wouldn’t dare watch horror movies alone, but I just can’t resist. I’m just as much of a scaredy-cat and fun-lover as the rest of us. LOL!”
Then Shen Lang was given another set of options:
1: “If you’re that chicken, then don’t watch them—it’ll only mess you up.”
2: “What’s the name of that short-haired girl next to you? Can you add her on WeChat for me?”
3: “Share the 32nd video from your Douyin favorites with her, and tell her to learn the tricks from it—then she won’t be scared.”
Su Lexuan replied:
“The 32nd video from your Douyin favorites?”
Surprised, Shen Lang opened his Douyin, found the 32nd video in his favorites, and as soon as it played, he couldn’t help but burst out laughing—and he sent the video over to Su Lexuan.
He then messaged:
“I’ll teach you a trick—just follow the method in this video, and you’ll never be scared of horror movies again.”
Su Lexuan replied with:
“For real?”
Curious, she clicked on the video Shen Lang sent.
The video showed a girl watching a horror movie who got totally jumped when a ghost suddenly appeared.
But the very next second, she whipped out her phone, started playing “Garden Baby,” clapped along to psych herself up, and even began chanting “Maka Baka” with a lingering scare.
“Hahaha, that cracked me up!”
After watching, Su Lexuan burst out laughing, while the other roommates watching the movie shot her puzzled looks.
Seeing that, Su Lexuan instinctively lowered her phone, then lay on her bed facing the wall, and couldn’t help but type out:
“I’m dying laughing—your video is too hilarious! LOL!”
Shen Lang then messaged:
“So, what do you think? Feeling less scared now? [dog head]”
Su Lexuan replied:
“Yeah, you’re not wrong—I do feel a bit better. But I wouldn’t dare do this in the dorm; my roommates thought I was totally off my rocker just now.”
[Ding! Su Lexuan’s favorability with her dorm has gone up by 2 points, now at 9. Keep it up!]
Hearing the system’s chime in his ear, Shen Lang felt even more pumped—it seemed like the conversation had hit a topic she really liked.
For the rest of the time, Shen Lang pondered which of the system-provided responses would be the right one to choose.
Every time he sent a correct option, Su Lexuan’s replies came in super fast.
Sometimes, as soon as Shen Lang finished a sentence, Su Lexuan would already be on her third message.
And as the chat went on, she started peppering her messages with more and more cute, girly emojis at the beginning or end of every line.
Shen Lang could really feel that she was eager to chat with him.
Even after the two-hour horror movie ended, Su Lexuan was still immersed in their cheerful conversation.
She didn’t even notice that a few of her roommates had quietly climbed onto her bed, secretly spying on her chat with Shen Lang.
One of them piped up:
“Is it really that good? Next time you come over, can you take me out to eat? We’ll split the bill—or I could treat you!”
It wasn’t until one roommate, in a husky voice, read out Su Lexuan’s messages that she snapped back to reality—realizing that several of her roommates were grinning with knowing looks, eyeing her hungrily.
“What are you guys doing?”
Flushed and with her heart racing, Su Lexuan quickly locked her phone, terrified that her roommates might find out about her chat with Shen Lang.
Then one of them whispered:
“Lexuan, Lexuan, is that the guy from your department?”
Another chimed in:
“Lexuan, isn’t he handsome? Isn’t he the one who asked for your WeChat a few days ago—the guy from the finance department?”
“Come on, Lexuan, spill the beans—we promise not to tell anyone!”
Their inner gossip flames were burning bright.
None of them could have guessed that the normally aloof Su Lexuan—who had been the unattainable “white moonlight” for countless boys at school—would be clicking so well with a guy!
