- Chapter 11 - Peaceful Daily Life
Peaceful Daily Life
In this world, there exists a certain type of service that targets a specific clientele.
It is not your typical concept-based cabaret club, but rather a completely ordinary restaurant that serves customers as usual and provides regular dishes, all while the waitresses wear revealing outfits that showcase their important assets.
Despite being a wholesome establishment, one cannot help but be captivated by its allure, as it is known as the Pleasure Restaurant.
Just like the last time I visited, the clientele consists of various age groups, ranging from students like myself to middle-aged salarymen.
As expected, all the customers are men.
Except for one person, that is…
“Stare~”
“… …”
*Slurp~*
“Starreeee~!”
“… …”
*Slurp~*
“Starreeeee~!”
“Sigh…”
Since it was becoming rather annoying, I put down the coffee I was sipping on a saucer.
Honestly, it’s quite rude to interrupt your onii-san’s elegant coffee time like this.
“You seem quite grumpy. It was you, Yuuya, who gave Rio the invitation ticket, right? And you were the one who insisted on coming here first.”
“Yeah, I know right? But, despite that, you seem surprisingly calm.”
As the bunny-clad waitresses pass by one after another, Rio tilts her head, clearly displeased.
“?”
Following her gaze, I notice her sharp gaze directed towards her own chest.
I compare the waitresses’ chests to Rio’s.
“Wha…!”
“Mmm…”
Unable to contain my laughter at the stark difference, I earn a glare from my sister.
I see, so that’s what it is. She actually has some cute aspects to her, unexpectedly.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s the inner qualities of a person that matter more than their appearance. In this world, there are plenty of eccentric individuals who like someone like you. You should target those peculiar ones.”
“Are you trying to get yourself killed, Onii-san? ♩”
With a fruit knife in hand, Rio gives me a smile that is completely out of character for her.
Oh no, we’re still inside the restaurant. I should probably limit my teasing.
“Just kidding. Well, you seem to have realized it already, but I’ll say it anyway. It’s true that I happened to come here by chance before. At that time, I never imagined it would be this kind of place.”
“I see. By chance, huh…”
Trying to avoid any misunderstandings, I thought Rio would look at me with disdain.
But instead, she looks at me with a contemptuous gaze.
As Rio and I exchange sarcastic remarks, I summarize the situation in my mind.
The ticket I received from Amano Mio was entrusted to me in advance. It seems like she had planned for this, but what is her intention this time?
From her behavior, it’s clear that she had been waiting for us since early morning.
At the very least, Rio and Amano Mio hadn’t had any contact until today. So, does that mean she had Yuuya pass it on to us?
“Hehe… Kurogane-kun, who is usually so blunt, is surprisingly kind to his little sister.”
“If you think so, then she should take responsibility for the misunderstanding herself.”
Before I knew it, Amano Mio, dressed in a bunny outfit, stood in front of us.
As always, her uniform emphasizes her hidden assets. This time, however, she doesn’t have the handheld device she was holding before.
“You certainly have an inappropriate appearance, Mio-senpai…”
With a cold gaze, Rio remarks.
Though she usually tends to be reserved and avoids conflict, it’s quite rare for her to confront someone so assertively.
“I get that a lot. Since we have this opportunity, Rio-san, feel free to place your order as well.”
Elegantly brushing off Rio’s sarcastic remark, Amano Mio remains in her bunny outfit and takes a seat next to me.
Her hidden right arm is secretly positioned above my precious area.
“(Oh, it hasn’t grown that much, has it? Despite going to such lengths with this outfit…)”
Can you hear it? The sound, so faint that it’s almost imperceptible. And yet, her sudden vulgar remark was truly something remarkable.
“Wha- why are you sitting next to my brother?! And Mio-senpai, aren’t you supposed to be working…?”
“What are you talking about? While it’s true that I work here part-time, I’m off duty today, you know?”
A calm response came from Amano Mio.
Looking around, the other bunny girls who were co-workers were smiling and waving at her. It seems like she wasn’t lying.
“Isn’t it embarrassing to wear such clothes in public, especially in front of our classmates? nii-san, say something!”
“Huh? Ah… well, isn’t it fine? Everyone has their own hobbies, after all.”
“Seriously…!”
“Hehe… As expected of Kurogane-kun, you understand.”
Honestly, when I first met her, I wondered how it would turn out. Meeting someone for the first time, especially someone of the same sex, and yet Rio expressed her emotions so openly. It felt like it had been a while since I had seen someone like that.
Even if something were to happen like it did yesterday, with her physical abilities, I wouldn’t need to worry about stepping in.
In that sense, these two might actually have good chemistry.
“Oh? It seems it’s gotten a bit bigger. Have I finally managed to excite you with my presence?”
If I’m being held in such a lewd manner, any healthy man would react like this… I thought to myself, as I continued to sip my coffee, ignoring the perverted individual who continued to hold on with a mysterious smile.
“You’ve changed a lot, Mio-senpai.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment. After all, it’s coming from someone who tried to take the life of a woman they just met.”
That’s quite a sarcastic remark. Moreover, it’s a harsh truth. No wonder Rio seemed taken aback.
“Forget about that. And why are you using polite language? You and Onii-san are the same age, and Rio is younger than you. I think it’s fine to just be friends…”
“There’s no particular reason. It’s just… a matter of environment, I suppose? That’s how I was raised.”
“?”
With those words, the atmosphere in the room suddenly became heavy.
As I glanced to my side, I noticed a somewhat lonely expression on her face, despite the confident smile she had just moments ago. Rio also seemed to sense the change in the atmosphere.
“Ah, sorry. I said something I shouldn’t have—”
“Hey!! Nobody move!!”
With a shout that echoed throughout the store, Rio’s words were instantly drowned out.
Simultaneously, a gunshot rang out. It happened so suddenly.
Placing the coffee cup in my saucer, it seems like we’ve stumbled upon quite the rowdy party. A party led by a formidable troublemaker.
